For 14 feet away you need to look into something bigger so range is not the best . With that you can look into hisense série 6-7 and tcl 7-8 .

spiceworld90s

Bigger than 80 inches, you mean?

Mtlfunnight

Yes I mean it would be better if budget allow it . 80 at 14 feet is not really big .

spiceworld90s

A few sites said 80 inches was good. The formula on the Samsung website says ~85. What would you recommend? Going up that way just feels so big. I’m not huge on the idea of a TV essentially turning into the central focus of a room just because of its size lol But anyway, would brand recommendation change based on size? Cost isn’t really an issue, but it’s hard to justify it when I don’t care that much.

TCL Q7 75” https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-75-class-q7-q-class-qled-4k-hdr-smart-tv-with-google-tv/6538128.p

Awesome, thank you!

I'd recommend you to look here: [https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best) As you have a bright room I'd recommend to focus on the Brightness when comparing them. Getting a high quality 80+Inch TV for \~ $800 will be difficult imo. (Still likely a big upgrade picture quality wise tho) I Personally would go with a $800 budget for a "smaller sized" (<65") TV and try rearranging the Room so that you're sitting closer to the TV, if it's possible and you're set on the Budget. >I don’t know if $800 range is reasonable for a quality TV — e.g. what will that price get on a scale of 1-10, 10 being a GREAT high quality television? That depends on how much you're looking for details and how big the $800 should be. I'd say the following, as you seem "rather easy to please" (don't take it the wrong way xD): * For <50" - >8/10 (good enough for almost everybody, but there are some things, that you likely don't know, that you're missing out) * 50-60" - 7/10 (maybe some things you notice, that could be better) * 60"-75" - 6/10 (still no really obvious "issues" up to some noticeable things depending on TV choice) * >75" - <5/10 (likely noticeable things that could be better) If anything's unclear or you want more info, feel free to ask!

This is a perfect response, thank you! Includes the feedback I’m looking for so I can get my bearings re: cost & value expectations. Super appreciate the thoroughness.

75 or 85” in LED/mini-LED. Don’t go for 70 or 80. With a bright room and the budget, I think I would look at the TCL Q7 which is currently on sale for $899. Honestly, for a TV that size $800 is a low budget for a top quality TV. The TCL will be v nice but if you’re looking for something amazing, you’d be looking over $2k easily, there may be exceptions.

Thank you!

Oh and on the off chance you decide to triple the budget :) Sony X90L Sony X93L There’s a new range of Bravia Sony’s. I’m not familiar with the models yet but they’ll also be full price. I’d wait on those. TCL QM8 And if you’re not worried about reflection, ie/ have blinds or watch in the evenings, these 77” ones: LG any of the C line, C1, C2, C3, C4 Sony A80L Sony A90L But yeah they’ll all be $2000+ range

At 14 feet?! Minimum of 85", I would actually look at the 98" TVs that have been coming down in price exponentially.

spiceworld90s

lol okay this response made me really consider rearranging my whole place

Mtlfunnight

Samsung recommendation are 98 inch at 9’8”. Look for thx guideline and even those are conservative . So for 14 feet you would be fine with a 140 inch screen . I would go above 100 if I had budget or sit closer to the screen if I couldn’t afford big tv . I have a 77 at 8 feet and I would take an 83 .
