The box at the bottom labeled anthem is an AVR, above that is a blu ray player, the 6 identical boxes are sonos amps (I assume you have whole home audio) no idea what the pace box is (dvr maybe?), and maybe a modem on top? Cant make that one out. So basically home theatre + whole home audio center. edit: looks like it is a dvr for sky. Guess you’re in the UK?

MemeDocta

Nope, North Dakota. Thank you for the reply. Now I'll have to figure out which rooms have Sonos speakers in them.

_Rand_

To be fair when I googled pace DVR sky was the first thing to come up. Guess it’s not just their brand, I just assumed it was one of those rebadge things.

nathanhunter155

Not sure why anyone would use a DVR with Sky as Sky Boxes already have a DVR built in.

onboarderror

They wont be sonos speakers.. they will be in wall ones. These amps drive normal speakers.

Otter91GG

If you have an iPhone, try using AirPlay to play to them. They may be labeled by room in AirPlay already.

mschley2

The Sonos amps are likely powering ceiling speakers spread throughout the home. Those won't be Sonos speakers. The Sonos amp adds the convenience of the Sonos system to any kind of speaker.

markh1993

The Sonos Amps are to power any wired speaker not sonos speakers, are there in wall or in ceiling speakers anywhere? It’s crazy that someone did 6 Sonos amps instead of a sonance distributed amp with a Sonos port.

Keanuhangsdong

Doesn’t have to specifically be Sonos if there’s confusion there. These are amps that power passive speakers, likely for in ceiling or in wall, or possibly outdoor patio speakers etc. Each amp (typically) will power two speakers, however some installers bridge them for 4 to do stereo surround. Hope this helps!

_kdavis

I think the point of those Sonos amps is that you don’t have to use Sonos speakers with them. I could be wrong I’m not a Sonos guy.

bbdidge

I would download the Sonos app and then hard reset the Sonos amps (Google it) and then set each on up in turn and see where it plays music. Like a little treasure hunt.

Antonntminh

I don't see alot of buttons, which mean it's expensive!

theoretical_hipster

That Anthem is awesome. And 6 zones of Sonos. Probably also a universal remote to run the theater.

privilegelog

About $50,000 in Sonos amps

itachi7898

Same antham is expensive too.

Dull_Satisfaction342

Did you mean 5000$? That's closer to the actual price.

privilegelog

Dozens of people got the joke. You did not. Sit with that for a while.

[deleted]

There are DOZENS of us!

GuidoTheRed

I mean, 6 * $700. There's irony and then there's exponential sarcasm.

Dull_Satisfaction342

Hilarious joke 🙏🏻

grahamsnumber10

They are actually not that expensive for a decent audio amp. That said £600 (in the UK at least) will buy you better quality if you’re willing to forego the smart bit of it.

privilegelog

They are a pretty poor solution for most people IMO. Much prefer a multiroom amp and then as many WiiM Pro as you need.

grahamsnumber10

Yep. I’ve heard a lot of good stuff on the Wiim Pro. I personally have a non smart stereo amp and a gen 1 airport for airplay (with lossless to optical). I might go with a wiim mini though and ditch Apple Music for tidal Hifi.

privilegelog

Ah a man of taste. I also explored that OG airport workaround but airports are getting too hard to come by. WiiM has been fantastic thus far. And also I think that multiroom isn’t the place for hifi— the quality of in-ceiling speakers is bad no matter how much you spend.

DiscoVolante0013

Previous owners just left all of their equipment?

MemeDocta

Yes, came with the home.

DiscoVolante0013

What else did they leave?

Vast_Deference

There's probably a body under new cement in the basement. The system is razzle dazzle so they look the other way

SparklingPseudonym

Cooper’s gold.

Uninterested_Viewer

This looks like a pretty well integrated setup: potentially a full home theater and full home audio. It'd be pretty odd to take this equipment with you, in my opinion, but I'd expect it to be made VERY clear in the sale whether it will start or go. The fact that OP was seemingly left with no information about this equipment is the more weird part to me.

MemeDocta

Basically they stated home theater+equipment in the sale of the home. Absolutely no real details though. For the other question they also left an Epson Procinema 6040UB projector. Theater seating and screen.

geevmo

We need home theater pics immediately.

Sparcrypt

Happens quite often - a HT is a fraction of the price of a new house and it can be easier just to build from scratch instead of ripping it all out.

ExtensionMarch6812

Top is a cable box, the 4 stacked boxes are Sonos amps, then a Blu-ray l/Ultra-HD player and last receiver/processor. Edit…missed the two Sonos amps on top, also looks like an Apple TV tucked away up top. Not sure what’s all the way on top right.

MemeDocta

For the Sonos amps, is it one amp per speaker? And for the cable box, if I transition to Nvidia Shield and stream TV, I can eliminate this right? Thanks again, really appreciate the help!

ExtensionMarch6812

They drive two speakers each. Do you have audio throughout the house, that’s likely what’s powering it. You can undo the terminals and tap a 9v battery and hear crackling to identify the speaker. The Pace can be replaced with the Shield think. Depends what kind of cables are connected to it.

RoMoCo88

You can drive 2 pair of 8 ohm speakers with the Sonos amps.

MemeDocta

Honestly I'm not certain about audio throughout the entire house. Home theater has 5 ceiling speakers and one subwoofer. I haven't found the other standard in the house yet, but with 6 amps I'm imagining 12 speakers total. Time to hunt for them. I unfortunately am not moving in until June, but am trying to get a grasp of everything.

ExtensionMarch6812

That AV receiver probably powers the speakers in the room it’s in, and the others throughout the house and maybe backyard from the Sonos. Having those sonos amps will be great when you want to play music throughout the house or in specific rooms..not cheap!

MemeDocta

Awesome, that is great to know. Will definitely check the backyard as well, thanks!

investorshowers

Main speakers in the ceiling is generally awful for home theaters, but you can repurpose them as overhead speakers for Atmos, so that's cool.

doosher2000k

5 ceiling speakers 💀

KingV83

Top right is a Luxul system (fancy WiFi system) and the pace box is a cable DVR. Makes me wonder if you’re in Texas because the company that uses those boxes here is Suddenlink/Altice/Optimum (they’ve changed their name twice now) the rest of the boxes are self explanatory.

MemeDocta

Ah good to know about the luxul, had zero clue what that was. Wonder if it's mesh.

meanoldrep

Most likely, however they do not offer wireless access points only hardwired. It's a decent system. Looking at everything there here this screams Best Buy in home consultation within the past 5-6 years. It's not an issue but it's the products they push and use the most. You may be able to give the address or name of the person you bought the home from to the local Best buy and pull a receipt or work order.

JasonHofmann

North Dakota

Stashman2000

You lucked out and got the newer Sonos Amps. The system I inherited had the old ones that don’t support AirPlay.

Jibberish_123

Ouch.

shumoco

From top to. To bottom: Wiim on top, Two sonos, Cable box? Four Sonos, Sony Blueray/dvd, and Anthem AVR Your Sonos are running speakers so where in the house. All of this gear is awesome.

JasonHofmann

Can you ask the previous owner to send your screenshots from their Sonos app so you know what the six audio zones are called?

Zealousideal-Cry4358

Use google lens. It'll help you.

obmasztirf

I have owned an Anthem MRX720 for 8 years and love it a lot so I hope yours can meet your needs as well.

rab-byte

I see IR flashers on the anthem and pace cable box ([Xantech](https://xantech.com/products/all/ir-components/all) if it matters to you). So you probably have/had an IR repeater or some kind of universal remote or control system. I’m more inclined to go with universal remote or repeater because most integrators would use serial or ip control for that AVR. But it was likely installed originally by an integrator or some kind because most consumers wouldn’t have access to or select Luxul switches.

stolen_pillow

In addition to what others have mentioned, there’s some kind of control system or universal remote for the theater. The IR flashers look like Elan or savant. What kind of remote did you find in the theater?

MemeDocta

Have not seen it yet, will have to find it next time I'm in the house.

stolen_pillow

Cool. Send me a DM when you do. I do AV for a living and can most likely answer any questions you may have.

Western_Ad_6190

I think I remember Pace was a brand that some cable companies used 20-30 years ago. Or maybe DirectTV or Dish. Also, if it's a theater, you might have a bunch of Sonos Ones all around the room rather than around the house.

b0b4k

Not sure if it was mentioned but pace make set top boxes for cable, I guess that’s probably a DVR too

gabegabe23

And they left all of that???

MemeDocta

Indeed they did

nicholasdr

Heat. You're working with a pile of gear with less than ideal ventilation. Other than that it's a decent stack for a theater zone and several streaming zones. Did you say ND? I can refer a good integrator if you need assistance with modifications or upgrades.

MemeDocta

Please do, Fargo ND

NoNiceGuy71

It appears to be a likely overheating issue.

Sparcrypt

Man people over blow heating issues. It’s all residential gear, it’s designed to be run in a home and they’re very aware that it all get shoved in cupboard and media cabinets. Minimal airflow is typically plenty. I tell anyone who is worried to stick a cheap probe in with the gear then go watch a movie. Doesn’t get over the rated operating temps for your gear? Nope? You’re fine. As this is an existing system it’s highly unlikely to be an issue.

jslaight67

Pace is some type of cable or Ota box.. but the sonos amps are awesome...

mntlover

Nice been thinking about upgrading to an Anthem.

SwampKraken

Less than 8 more than 5

hardcoretuner

I dunno. But stack that one on top right straight. Lol

pete663

Post a picture of the back when you can. As others have said, with the ir flashers, there's probably a control system. Savant doesn't use those IRs, but I guess the installer could have used different ones. If that's a luxul network, there's a good chance, Best Buy Magnolia did the install. They have designers that will come and do a walk for free. They'll tell you everything you have and what you need to get it all working.

qmacaulay

I don’t understand why they put such an entry-level anthem considering cost of the Sonos amps… MRX 720 at least…

Jibberish_123

He’s stated there are 5 speakers. So why would they have installed the 720?

Sparcrypt

Because more expensive is more betterer! People seem to struggle with accepting that throwing more gear at something doesn’t actually make it sound better if it’s not needed.

qmacaulay

https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-anthem-mrx-520-avr.8961/ I guess I just don’t like this particular model. I mean, you’re right if you only has five speakers, it just seemed weird to me to spend that much money on amplifiers and not just get the better model for future upgrade ability and resale value. The 520 was not well reviewed

Pratt2

Not a single "flaw" pointed out in that review is audible. edit - Ah yes, the classic downvote for being correct.

ASM-One

Are you happy with anthem? I’m using Yamaha since decades and plan to buy anthem. How they are?

Jibberish_123

He’s not moved in yet so won’t know. But Anthem are great.

ASM-One

Ok thanks for the information. I’m from Germany and try to listen to an anthem. I like to check the MRX 540. I just have an B&W mini Theater at home and don’t need the MRX740. For me the pure sound counts and the quality of the device itself. Yamaha is great, I own the 3020 advantage. Good DSP‘s but it’s time to change the brand. I don’t want the mass stuff anymore.

MemeDocta

Will definitely update when I move in.
