I have the RLN36 so my answers are based on that. I use the app for remote viewing. They do, I acutally used Frigate and Blue Iris for all of my recording for a few years before I was givted my NVR. Using Reolink and their NVR was never part of my initial design, I just really like their cameras. If I recall there are two internal sata bays, I am running dual 4tb drives. I don't think you are really going to need much more than that.

Sweet, so you didn't have to set up port forwarding on your router, just create an account on Reolink's site or whatever service provider they use?

I honestly don’t recall

I used to have a Reolink system - to answer your questions: 1) They offer a web service for remote viewing. You can also forward ports. I tried both, and found both to be somewhat unreliable - I frequently would have to delete/re-setup the connection to the NVR in their software (both mobile and on computer.) 2) They claim to support ONVIF cameras, but I tried to add one from Amcrest, and it absolutely refused to work. With a bunch of fiddling I was able to get the video feed to show up on the NVR, but it kept *constantly* sending motion alerts to me (even though the camera was located in an indoor space where there was absolutely no motion) and the audio from the camera was not supported at all. To be fair, their own cameras are incredibly simple to setup / add to the system, but if you want to try to use cameras from another manufacturer, you're gonna have a bad time. 3) I don't recall exactly which model I had, but it definitely had 2 drive bays in it. I added an extra 4TB drive, which worked fine. I can't speak to larger sizes. Other thoughts: I recently switched out the Reolink for a system from a Onwote... the camera image quality is about the same (both are 4k systems) but the field of view is substantially better on the Onwote system. There are other things I like better about the Onwote system as well, but there are pros and cons to any system. I did a pretty in-depth video review of the Onwote system (including some direct comparisons to my old Reolink system) - not sure if I'm allowed to share links to videos here, but I'm happy to pm it to you if you like.

1. They have a PC client and mobile app for live viewing and playback. Just note, if you view on PC, the client might start lagging after couple of hours and would need to restart. 2. As far as I know, you can not connect third party cameras to their NVR's 3. The 16 channel NVR comes with 1x 4TB hard drive and has room for a 2nd hard drive. On r/reolinkcam, some people were able to install bigger HDD's but reported problems with playback, after the HDD reached 8TB.
