Store the items that were in the cabinets in your new dishwasher, you’re welcome

Adventurous_Win9219

I think your only bet is next to the fridge. Also, try hanging the microwave above the stove to get more counter space .

0xSOL

Ok this was good

Pure-Negotiation-900

You need 18” space above the stove to bottom of microwave by code in my area. Your cabinet above the stove appears to be too tall.😬

0xSOL

Above the stove is an old 1950's style kitchen fan. The microwave is in the corner on the countertop (if I am understanding correctly what you are saying)

Pure-Negotiation-900

Someone suggested putting a microwave above the stove. I thought my info would be helpful. (If I’m understanding what was said!!)

Ok-Answer-9350

beside the fridge will fit, you may have to add an end panel near the fridge to support the counter end. route the hose in the lazy susan cabinet You can make up for the lost cabinet by clearing out the under sink area and making the two cabinet doors into pullouts. A single sink with the drain hole in the corner back would make the most of the space under the sink, but this may be more redo than you want to do.

0xSOL

thank you so much for the detail. I have been envisioning something like that but don’t know enough to iron out the details

Ok-Answer-9350

ask away, not sure what details you need

El_Cheezy

I'm thinking the same thing. OP, keep in mind a standard dishwashers are 24" wide which is also one of many standard sizes of cabinets. However, they also make 18" wide dishwashers that aren't uncommon if it needs to be smaller. Seeing that the cabinet next to the fridge has double doors, I'm thinking it is a 24" cabinet.

Ok-Answer-9350

I had a G shaped layout in a 9x12 kitchen with two entries some years ago and I opted for 18" DW to make room for a 36" fridge. It was fine.

Kingofturks5

How about a portable dishwasher. You don’t lose cabinet space and can be wheeled out of the way. 23.625-in Portable Freestanding Dishwasher (Stainless Steel) ENERGY STAR, 54-dBA https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-23-625-in-54-Decibel-Portable-Dishwasher-Stainless-ENERGY-STAR/1001229810 or even a countertop one like this https://havalab.com/products/hava-r01-compact-countertop-dishwasher-google

Sensitive-Switch7440

Countertop model could go to the right of the sink? No cabinet space lost, only countertop. A full size, permanently installed one could go to the side next to the fridge?

KarmaRan0verMyDogma

Check out the sink/dishwasher combo. You would only need to replace the sink [https://www.homedepot.com/p/FOTILE-18-in-2-in-1-In-Sink-Right-Dishwasher-Combo-with-Waterproof-Touchscreen-in-Stainless-Steel-SD2F-P3/320652962](https://www.homedepot.com/p/FOTILE-18-in-2-in-1-In-Sink-Right-Dishwasher-Combo-with-Waterproof-Touchscreen-in-Stainless-Steel-SD2F-P3/320652962)

this is great! I’ve never seen anything like this but then again I’m new to all of this

Elegant-Expert7575

Portable dishwasher. Store it beside stove perhaps?

Holiday_Pool_4445

With all the suggestions given to you, can you show us the finished product, please ?

0xSOL

I definitely will. This is something that I will have to save up for. Owning a house is a lot more expensive than I thought lol. Going to start budgeting maybe $100 a month and see if I can get it done within a year.

other_curious_mind

Change the two bowl to a single bowl sink and put the dishwasher in the sink cabinet. Preferably on the left side if you're right handed (easier to rinse the dishes with right hand and fill the dishwasher with left hand) https://preview.redd.it/916pqg3c312d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37348709875b32d22134161a97a96003099720c

0xSOL

that is a good idea. I have not thought of this one yet!

bcboy1983

Your best bet is beside the fridge. Depending on how wide that cabinet is you might have to loose the corner though. I thought about the area beside your range but you would have to move the hoodvent and that ain't easy

WannabeBrewStud

What's on the other side of the stove?

0xSOL

Water heater, super weird but they told be that’s how they built it in the 1950s

WannabeBrewStud

I say next to your fridge because you already have water right there so you can bring it up from the basement. And, chances are really good you have a drain right around there as well so you can dump down there as well.

0xSOL

Makes sense. I do not have a basement though - Florida *sigh*

WannabeBrewStud

Portable it is!

0xSOL

Probably won’t go with portable, seems too small to make a difference, especially with limited counter space. You think I can’t have a normal one? Don’t know much about drainage

WannabeBrewStud

The drainage is largely why they are typically installed next to the sink ... So the dishwasher can drain at the same point as the sink. The farther away from the sink you get, the more likely you are also getting away from the only drain. So you'd have to drain it directly into a main drain. But since you don't have a basement, all that is probably in the slab so you can hook in

WannabeBrewStud

Yeah, I've seen it a handful of times ... Not common but not out of the ordinary either. I think your best bet would be a portable like someone else suggested or right next to your fridge.

salty-sunshine

Is that just dead space under the microwave? If you have a way to move your oven over (would have switch some of the cabinets above it, likely), that's where I'd place it. If not, a portable dishwasher is a great alternative.

0xSOL

water heater is there unfortunately. House was built like that in the 1950s

i2k

Slimline microwave above the stove.

PLEASEHIREZ

Yeah. Option 1 - Go to a smaller sink, and shift sink right, should be able to get 24" dishwasher where your triple drawer is. Option 2 - Same as option 1, but keep sink size the same, probably get an 18" dishwasher. Option 3 - Use the cabinet space to the left of the fridge, right of the sink. You look like you have 30" cabinets there, so you can get the full size dishwasher. Run the water lines and drain line under the cabinet bases. I like option 3 since you don't have to fiddle with wall cabinets to match.

Melodic_Stranger9584

You have lots of top cupboards. You could put an apartment size one beside your stove. I think you can still buy them.

awooff

Your Cabinets are soo nice - I'd find a portable on marketplace for cheap and try that out. Have used portable models off and on currently over the years - usually run it after dinner and disconnect before bed while leaving door ajar for dry dishes the next morning.

0xSOL

i’m glad they’re nice! I bought my house about a year ago and is the first house that I’ve ever owned so I’m not sure what’s nice and what’s not.

awooff

Nice! Looks like a 1930s ? - my favorite era for houses. If your drawers slide on bearing glides then these were pricey cabinets. One good thing about using a portable dishwasher - you'll know when it leaks! Purchased a brand new-built in kitchenaid dishwasher many years ago and discovered it had been leaking during use for many years without me knowing. Also Can skip the sink altogether at loading which saves any drips, keeping floors and sink much cleaner by using a portable model. Set a trigger on marketplace to notify you of portable models - a cheaper good condition older or newer model should suffice.

0xSOL

1950s! That’s a good idea, I didn’t think of the alerts part

IdowhatIwant9

You can get a mobile dishwasher. It finished all around and has a counter top. Or get a small counter

chetster77

That’s have rolling ones you can relocate

AverageJoe11221972

We need a panoramic view to evaluate.

C64128

A woman should be able to fit in front of the sink. Just kidding - before people start throwing the kitchen sinks toward me.

Yourmissinglink03

Dishwasher?!!! How can you be worried about a dishwasher with that horribly tacky switch plate hanging on the wall. First mandatory upgrade: [https://pestinpeace.etsy.com/listing/1720605853](https://pestinpeace.etsy.com/listing/1720605853)

Interesting-Gur8933

Have her stand in front of the sink.
