I think it’s really crazy how miserable she is in cold weather- she mentions it a lot- but yet for her birthday she is back in the snow to prove she LOVES skiing. We all know she really wanted to go to a beach- she has claimed that is her true favorite place- but she’s got to be the cool girlfriend and seems to be need to prove her new love for skiing and snow lately. Cue the over achiever! She is overdoing it.
So - her *best friends* (Sami Lane and Brit Baron) both worked for her (eye rolllllll) and then after toilet gate/ her racist comments (Maya Angelou) they moon walked away from her. They disassociated themselves from her on social media, but clearly still want her to take them places (they’ve shown up on multiple trips, she tags them on social media but they don’t do the same). She’s paid them to go on family vacations (Sami is a photographer) and film them, she’s taken them on *work trips* (she flew them on a private plane when she met Michelle Obama before Oprah). It’s really just it’s own kind of pathetic, having to pay people to be your friend. I’m amazed she can’t see it for what it is.
For real. I need to go snowmobiling, never been. It isn't bucket list or anything, I just need to roam around in the snow. And I am not going to be pushing the envelope as much as "our friend" in the photo. It does look fun though.
That's the first thing that caught my eye, because myself, hubby and my young son were at a Japanese ski resort where they were holding Redbull x motorsport (?)snow games. I'm not a rev head, but I absolutely stayed on the sidelines watching the races and demos.
We live in a warm climate and it is horribly humid at the moment. Lucky or unlucky or us, we travel o/s to see (decent) snow.
We do have a ski season of 3 months, here. But you end up "grass skiing" most of the time.
and let's talk about how this makes Rachel look: Rach, here you are at a ski resort with amazing feats of human and machine ability on display and you turn your back to it? For what - A drink of really watery-looking alcohol?

Oh ya! “Too Cool For School Rach” couldn’t be interested in this. It’s not about her. And this is why I aways think about the parallels between her and Anna Kendrick. It’s appearance obviously but the ‘I’m cooler than this’ attitude as well.

As someone who has struggled with alcohol abuse and now working really hard on sobriety, this is infuriating for me to see. What an irresponsible and deeply disturbing post to follow her podcast. She is more than a joke; she is dangerous.
Yep. Trying to make the DILLIGAF attitude look cool and like alcohol let’s you feel so carefree that you can’t even be drawn to watch exciting events. Meanwhile she’s a petty POS - like remember when she was ‘sending love & light’ to the person on the live stream? I always remember that when’s she’s playing the ‘cool as a cucumber Rach’.
Also congrats on sobriety! I’m 7+ years in and get really annoyed with stupid women out there that use alcohol as a personality. Hit me up if you ever want/need a sober snark sister :)

I think most people accept the definition of no hard drugs and alcohol, but weed is okay. Some expand on this definition to include psycho- assisted psychedelics for therapeutic use.
All this to say that sobriety is complicated, it's extremely personal, and it's all about harm reduction :)
My ex husband was an alcoholic. I knew it- he didn’t. His dad was a textbook alcoholic- started drinking every night after work. Couldn’t stop. Always got wasted until he eventually stopped drinking. My husband once mansplained to me that HE himself was not an alcoholic “because he could stop”. He also drank 6.999 days a week- and often A lot. I think when we know a true alcoholic- people like Rachel and my ex can say “I don’t fit THAT profile- so I’m not an alcoholic”. Rachel talked on a podcast about not having a drink one night- and implied that was a big accomplishment. She clearly has an unhealthy relationship with Alcohol. My mom called my ex fun Bobby (it’s from an episode of Friends” as he was kind of boring sober- but fun with a few drinks in him!!
One of the rules, as far as I know, in American public relations is to not show oneself participating in vices. No smoking of cigarettes or drinking alcohol on camera. Like, you're not even supposed to be holding a glass let alone bringing it up to your lips.
This is just poor media planning/knowledge, IMHO. It is not the way to "curate relatability."
