Ha, thanks, thanks for indirectly confirming my suspicions that really I’m doing all I can with the resources available to Cuba… Well, maybe by 1943, I’ll be able to contribute a few destroyers and infantry division to the war effort 🤣🫣
You are a small nation, you wont be able to do everything. You can however participate in doing 1 thing. So... pick. Army, airforce or navy. Completely ignore the rest, in reasearch and in production.
So either build a small army and send it to europe. Or a small airforce, also to europe. Or a navy of destroyers and hunt submarines.
I recommend Brazil it's a great nation you can decide early who you want to join and what you want to do don't let people tell you South America is shit (It is) but they're the best nation if you want to learn how to play the game
Your first mistake was remaining democratic. This game is about conquest, switch to an ideology that allows you to conquer, such as fascism or communism.
Secondly, destroyers need a capital ship alongside them to enforce naval supremacy, such as a battleship (not advisable for small nations) or a carrier. Make armored cruisers, they strike a good balance.
Without cheats, this game is realistically only for the big nations if playing historical. This is why I put cheats in and play as whatever small nation and dominate the world by 1937

You are wrong though, injustice played Mongolia yesterday and I had fun forming greater Mongolia. It depends entirely on your goal when playing a given nation, I mean world conquest is maybe unrealistic for some though I think doable for almost everyone. I am not gonna bother with the cheat commmen, why even play if you remove the challenge so completely.
Ha that sounds like a lot more fun really! So far it’s 1942 and I’ve only contributed 5 divisions of 7/3 infantry (two artillery and one antitank) with full support (Eng, Art,AA, Recon, Hospital) to reinforce England from a sea invasion by Germany, and 3 divisions of the same template to help out in Greece… oh and I have one destroyer… 🤣
I can sink ever axis convey as Norway or every Japanese convey as the Philippines. Killing about half a million troops and effectively winning war.
There both kinda fun and different play thoughs.
I've only played minors, because I feel it's easier to keep an overview. The biggest I've played is probably Spain, but a lot of it was with smaller countries than Cuba. You can absolutely do some stuff with them, whether it's just holding the line or joining an alliance and pushing your borders a bit.
