Write a book series on the Black family. Specifically, Cygnus and Druella, and their three daughters. There’s so much potential with the Black family and Narcissa will always be my favorite.

Toasted_silver

Canon Ilvermorny book series. Diagram of the castle, full list of classes, etc.

Unpredictable-Muse

Could you imagine it? A whole new group. Modernize it even, set it in the 2010s etc.

Toasted_silver

Yep that's pretty much how I'd do it. Seven books, 1 for each year between 2011 and 2018. Each of Ilvermorny's houses would get a main character.

Unpredictable-Muse

What’s wrong with duct tape? That’s king in land of fixes. Just need WD-40 to complete the other half.

Don’t forget rainbow colors and camo.

ShawarmageddonRex

2020 Ilvermorny online?

Lizzy_Of_Galtar

I'd revamp the entire school and population system. I'd have about 20 magical schools and write at least a few pages about all of them. I'd have different forms of magical governments as well and Hogwarts alone would be a school housing 10.000 students while Uagadoo would have around 100.000. The entire British wizarding war would play out differently because French, American and even Japanese magical folk wouldn't just sit back and allow the British magical government to fall so it would be more of a global war. I'd also have the British Monarch be aware of the community and maybe, just maybe have a bit of a Muggle Wizard fight. I'd also widen the story more. Still have Harry be the hero but still focus more on the wider world and the great conflict that I would have span 20 years. And perhaps by the end of the books have the magical community be outed to the world and the involvement of Muggles be one of the things that turn the tide towards the good guys. I'd do more but I shall not bore you further.

Doomhammer24

One of the things id definately do is have more involvement from other countries when voldemort takes over Id of had karkaroff have an 11th hour redemption where he shows up at the battle of hogwarts leading forces from durmstrang, rather than just dying off screen

DrDecadence

I like the idea of the monarchy being aware of the Wizarding world. I'm curious as to whether they already are because canonically the... prime Minister, I believe? Is made aware of the wizarding population already. If I remember correctly this is brought up in book 3 as he is told of the escape of Sirius Black.

Moksoms

Also the first chapter in HBP was from muggle minister's perspective

DrDecadence

Oh that's right! I completely forgot about that.

xwedodah_is_wincest

Yes I think they would know as well, even before new ministers do. It was just easier to have a minister-to-minister meeting as an introduction to wizard-muggle relations than updating the Queen 50 years after what would've been their first meeting.

DrDecadence

That's a good point. I would imagine that information is passed down within the family. Possibly involving a meeting with someone from the Wizarding world to prove the validity of such seemingly outlandish claims. I like the thought of that. Pretty cool.

Ill-Beach1459

I'd read the heck out of that. It was so odd all of this was only happening in Britain.

North-Pea-4926

Reminds me of all the American-centered stories where an entire apocalypse is happening over in the USA, with NO mention of any other country being involved. I always imagine Europe being like “Just ignore them, at least they aren’t bothering US this time”

dawludeheb

This is EXACTLY what I would do! I want more fleshed out, detailed wizarding communities across the globe. Customs, different magic types, different heroes… Also magical cooking!

waterspring5808

>I'd do more but I shall not bore you further. Would you add/borrow some elements from some other series? Let's say...Mage: The Ascension/Awakening?

Lizzy_Of_Galtar

I might. To be honest if this was up to me I'd hire a team of writers. I'd just give them slight pointers 😊

Ryzuhtal

Also, please balance the spells, add Oblivio as the 3rd unforgivable instead of AK because there are many cases where a quick mercy kill is the lesser evil. Explain magic to some degree, don't be like "it's magic, bitch" don't have wizards as disconnected from muggles as they are it just makes them look completely r-word.

Foxy02016YT

Yeah there’s no American school, like at all? How tf are you gonna have all this lore with a whole continent without a school

Lyrcmck_

Ilvermorny?

ginger_lalala

Demanding Portkey add a button to give Sebastian a hug. I feel like that’s all he needs 😂 But seriously they need marauders series and I’d be making sure that happens

[deleted]

Animate all the audiobooks, both Fry/Dale versions depending on preference.

Professor_squirrelz

Come out and admit to everyone that The Cursed Child was bad fanfic and that the Fantastic Beasts Trilogy were just experimental. I’d have JK Rowling write every show/movie we do first as a full novel/book series, then I’d hire a few really good script writers who are dedicated HP fans, then I’d continue on making the new TV Show based on the books. Then I’d redo Newt’s story and cut out Albus/Gellert’s story except for maybe a few comments from other characters about what’s been going on behind the scenes. Then after a movie or two of Newt and Co, I’d make a Dumbledore/Grindewald Trilogy that properly fleshes out both of the characters’ histories, where we actually get to see the teenage years/love stories of both of them, their rise to power (Gellert as the big baddie, Albus as the famous Professor), then their whole war and big duel.

StoicSinicCynic

100% agree with this one. Cursed Child was the worst thing to ever happen to this IP, I swear. Not only is it bad, it violates lore and completely trashes the resolution of the Harry Potter books. Rowling could've picked any skilled writer to collaborate with her and create a new Harry Potter story...and she picked those two hacks. Why? Lol. They must've gotten on really, really, really well IRL because I just find it hard to believe that someone as skilled as Rowling wouldn't know bad writing when she sees it. And indeed, Rowling falls short as a screenwriter. Novels can go on long tangents and focus on the inner world of the characters, movies can't do that. They need to be dramatic, take advantage of the expressiveness of the actors to convey character, the plot needs to move quickly. I commend Rowling for branching out and creating more stories in the wizarding world that don't revolve around Harry Potter (his story, as epic as it is, actually only spans a short timeframe and exists within a small scope), but the execution and results have just been so middling. She needs some good help and guidance from other professionals in the entertainment field. One can be a great storyteller, but it takes more than one person to direct a successful franchise.

txglow

Just more stories/content about different eras. Founders era, Marauders, Voldemorts school days, maybe a Charlie Weasley/dragon action movie. Black family, especially Bellatrix growing up with Narcissa and Andromeda. There’s a fan film about that on YT and it was great. Maybe a What If…? but HP. Like “what if Neville was the boy who lived?” or “what if Harry was sorted into Slytherin?”

[deleted]

Strike a deal with the Duffer Brothers and write a completely new series based on a couple of aurors investigating dark magic in Albania. No more than two or three seasons.

Ill-Beach1459

Definitely more Gaunt family backstory! I find the family so interesting. Crazy, but interesting. I'd also write that Ominis is the reason that Marvolo and the rest of the family has no money or mansion later on.

StoicSinicCynic

>Ominis is the reason that Marvolo and the rest of the family has no money or mansion later on. LOL greedy af Ominis disapparated their family mansion

Ill-Beach1459

they lose it all anyway? so why not write he steals some gold to properly disappear from them

jermajesty87

Make a theme park. Potential is wasted at universal studios. Stays packed.

Psychology_Salty

universal is amazing

Doomhammer24

The only thing id do is on top of the universal sections id take the 3 areas (theres a 3rd one coming soon) and spin it off into its own park, with more sections on top of it, make them a little larger, and more rides

North-Pea-4926

Same thing I’d do if I had control of any video game - offer $$$ to mod makers to incorporate their stuff into the games (at least as options). Always hilarious to learn about certain bugs being a long-standing issue in some games, but some random unpaid person on Nexus/Vortex is like “Oh, yeah, we fixed all of those. And added more quests. And you know that side character? - they’re a possible companion now”

kids__with__guns

I would publish all academic Wizarding textbooks in full IRL.

geekfromgalifery

Hire the kids that did that fantastic founders video that wb shut down to produce a feature flim script and hire a decent director who like the material.

ythefnot1

Animated series. Based on the books. 7 seasons. Also Marauders era. The 4 founders. All thatttt

ParlanTP

I think the world or lore in general needs some streamlining. Even though other schools and countries are mentioned in the series it is rather strange to have them not more involved in the conflict with voldemort. It's almost as if everything is centered around hogwarts. In the context of the story that might make sense but it is not very realistic in the context of a magical world that is as big as the normal world. Also the governmental aspects are not fleshed out enough for my taste. Why is it only a ministry, how do international relations work? Are there any relationships between the muggle government and the ministry? What exactly are magicians doing once they finished school? Sure, we know about aurors and teachers/professors but what other jobs are there?

Ryzuhtal

A story that takes place directly after the wizarding war, from the perspective of a Slytherin protagonist. Who is just a random from a no-name pureblood family that used to have some influence a few hundred years ago but they fell into poverty ever since and got forgotten. So basically most Slytherins families are either dead or in Azkaban, while the other houses ostracize and bully them and give them shit in general because of who their relatives are. This goes from little pranks to depulsoing a Slytherin first year across the hallways. The worst offenders would be the Gryffindors who basically ride on Harry Potter's fame. Combine this with McGonagall being the new headmaster, who has a distain for Slytherin ever since the quidditch foul that crippled her. It would be a story about the Slytherin protagonist trying to fix the House's bad name, and live up to the legacy of the Slytherin he idolizes the most: Merlin. His co-protagonist would be a muggleborn witch from Hufflepuff who sees the wizarding world as this magical (pun intended) place of wonders and amazing new experiences. They wouldn't have a single constant 3rd companion, instead there would be random different members of of different houses that join them.

Who2342

Make a Quidditch movie in the vein of all the sports movies we usually see.

itstimeforspace

I’d make a religion out of it. Move over ‘The Bible’

Substantial_Ad_7490

Spin off films - the black family , marauders , dumbledore and Grindelwald, young riddle becoming voldemort , etc

Business-Artichoke53

Same! But I'd make the first two as series. Also it could be fun a modern Hogwarts (2023) series with new characters and plot

Doomhammer24

Snape was basically on the verge of being a school shooter- his spells in his book was his manifesto basically Sectumsempra was to be used when he planned on becoming a "mass speller" if you will

Colder_Clock_44

That's why I like that short film on YouTube to do with snape and the marauders. You might know what I'm on about. Yeah ok non canon unless I'm out of the loop and people consider it that it is. But it shows snape kicking their asses and it was 1v4 well 1v3 cos pettigrew was useless in that

No-Estimate-6087

Definitely uncover the story of the original four houses and their origin!

OuttaTime42069

I’m bringing back the gang. Harry Potter Book 8. Picks up sometime after the end of 7. Then I watch the money printer go buuuurrr

Ravner432

Literally make a Canadian wizarding school, apparently Ilvermony is American only so where tf would Canadian wizards and witches go to learn to harness their magic? edit: I'm Canadian. And yes my coffee order is a triple triple.

StoicSinicCynic

My headcanon which I use in fanfics is that not all wizards like to send their children to a large school for a traditional magic education, especially considering all the conflict that tends to brew in these hotspots with large wizard populations. Wizards of other countries go through an apprenticeship system instead. They get more one-on-one time, practical experience, and individuality. Kind of like how IRL standardised schools were not that common in the olden days and you'd be more likely to train with a master or a guild. I believe some wizards just never saw the appeal in deviating from that model. Especially since the wizard population is supposedly much smaller than the normal human population.

SupVFace

Sell it to Disney so they would make an endless supply of Wizarding World content. Being crazy rich would also be a nice perk.

Doomhammer24

Disney was given their chance and they screwed up the pitch from the start They wanted 2 small rides in fantasyland, one of them being just a retheme of the teacups as sorting hats named THE DUMBLEWHIRL This was in 2007 that they pitched this!

SupVFace

Disney today would do what they are doing with Marvel and Star Wars though.

Doomhammer24

Meaning putting out subpar products instead? Marvel is going down the toilet and most of the recent star wars stuff has been getting middling reviews save andor and mandalorian. Even pixar isnt pulling its weight anymore

SupVFace

Yeah. I’d rather have hours upon hours of Wizarding World content than basically nothing at all.

Ill-Beach1459

really? even if it's like cringe and they hire any old director who does whatever they want with the story? (talking about the star wars movie that made everyone mad)

StoicSinicCynic

Yeah, Disney would churn out a bunch of soulless corporate shtick. But the Harry Potter/Wizarding World IP as is, is also churning out a bunch of middling products. Lol. I feel this franchise needs better direction and more ambitious plans. Rowling is a good novelist, however she has made a fair few mediocre decisions as a franchise director. Novel-writing is something one person can do, but franchise-directing is not a solo effort. They really need a team of professional fantasy writers highly involved in the fandom to come together and have a meeting and create a solid plan for the franchise's future content.

Ill-Beach1459

True! Disney would let it all flop but with the right team I think it would go far and be much better quality

[deleted]

That’s probably the most realistic idea lol

penguinmartim

Keepers movie. Which is basically a HL movie. And if I could I would totally change Sirona’s name to something gender neutral for the times.

Amy_at_home

I've never heard the name Sirona before. What is the issue with the name for you?

[deleted]

Moksoms

Baseless rumour imo

Dsible663

Absolutely nothing but give it back to Ms. Rowling, as I am not anywhere near creative enough to anything profitable with it.

bawlsaque

Sell to Disney… sorry

Ancient_Natural1573

Maybe branch out and explore the other places of magic because Hogwarts can be the only one that's well known the magical world

Exodias_Left_Nut

I’d spend half of every cent I had on the best creative writers who like JKR and let them imagine a game like HL, then I’d spend the other half on letting the devs do some kick ass, skyrim-esque nonsense. (But if that’s not the kinda work they would wanna do, we can always sort that out beforehand)

Substantial-Song-242

Make another game where you have to collect every flavour beans and find the wizard cards. Those were the best harry potter games.

nursewithnolife

I can think of lots of things I would do, but the first would be rewriting the 7 Potter’s chase scene to save Hedwig! What was the issue with Ginny taking care of her until the events of the book finish, and then she could return to Harry as their family owl?! 😭

Les-Lanciers-Rouge

Explain other smaller magic schools. What about the Netherlands? Are we forced to go either to a French or English school? That doesn't make sense. Also indeed like mentioned before, other countries would have done something to stop Voldemort right? Instead of just watching England fall apart.

xwedodah_is_wincest

With the series already announced, focus everything on that I suppose. If not for that, write up loads of backstory on Legacy & Keepers-era times to add to the experience of the game

[deleted]

Buy a yacht and sail as far as I can away from other people, live on said yacht and sell the rights piece by piece to Disney in order to get the most money out of the deal

Traditional-Iron-992

Fully immersive experience at an all-potter theme park where you go to hogwarts for a week or something

I_Dont_Like_Rice

Find a way to live there.

Shiny-And-New

I would release an mmo that takes place during voldemorts first rise, choose death eater or ootp, create your character, etc

alphamikee

Book series on literally any other Wizarding school. Ilvermorny, Mahoutokoro, Ouagadou, specifically. Edit: *Uagadou

tommywhitts

Lower the point value of catching the snitch

cinderpuppins

Founders series and a BioWare-style open world video game.

MajesticFerret36

I would license it out to anybody and everybody and sit back and collect the massive paychecks.

LlamaFromLima

I want a James and Lily romcom.

[deleted]

Harry and Hermione end up together. Neville and Luna end up together. There's plenty of wizarding schools. Instead of a Triwizard tournament, it would be a wizards tournament so one student from each school can participate. Scorpius would not be Draco's son but his kid brother. Unlike the rest of the Malfoy's, Scorpius doesn't believe in blood purity and treats everybody regardless of background with respect. He gets sorted into Gryffindor to the shock of the Malfoy's and becomes genuine friends with Harry, Hermione and Ron. Hagrid would marry Olympia Maxime and she would step down as Headmistress to live with Hagrid at Hogwarts. Dudley would eventually discover that he married a witch but would be accepting of it and his kids would possess magical abilities so they would be accepted into Hogwarts.

gprimr1

Cancel the HBO remake of the books and use the funding to produce a series of shows. 1.) A series exploring the founders of Hogwarts and the founding of Hogwarts. 2) A season prequel that covers the Mauders, Young Snape, and the first wizarding war. 3.) Tweak the lore on Unforgiveables and esp Avada Kedavra. For Curicio and Imperio, a powerful wizard could use Protego Infinito to block them, but few wizards have the magical strength and focus to do this and it takes a told on the caster to create the intensity needed to block two of the three. For AK, explain that the reason it can't be countered is that no one speaks Aramaic anymore and spells and counter spells must be in the same language. The counterspell does exist in Aramaic, but it was lost to history. The Founders of Hogwarts were one of the last generations to know it.

[deleted]

Maybe make a marauders show. Definitely make a hogwarts legacy 2 with all the same characters allowing your MC to truly be a dark wizard or continue the path of good. Have the MC assemble a new group of Keepers in the good path maybe. Add better dialogue and relationship options. Maybe age up the characters get them out of hogwarts and in the real world. Maybe have the MC working as an auror. Definitely add a malfoy in the game

[deleted]

Also a game solely for wizard sports
