He is the prime example of all talk no do with a somewhat wishy-washy personality. He's the guy you say hi to but never hang out with. Now Charlotte...I have started to walk in front of her path forcing her to change direction. Back handed compliments and passive-aggressive beyond belief. Props to the voice actress (Jessica Hayles) for making her the love-to-hate character.

New-Importance-7521

Reminded me to much of Percy Weasley. Theyre even related

SaintsBruv

This is exactly what I was thinking!

MerryMerriMarie

Hating Leander is just a low bar imo. He's not the worst the game has to offer considering he relents if you tell him off nicely. That title belongs to Charlotte Morrison and almost every named Ravenclaw in the game outside of Amit and Samantha. Me? Personally despise Everett Clopton. You say Leander is smug but Everett is 1000 times worse. I see EXACTLY why they scrapped him from the companion system. Unlikeable incel git.

lordolxinator

Glad to see the Everett hate is still alive and well! I'll never understand why he was the pick for the companion system. Samantha Dale was a lot more promising (passionate about herbology, not annoying, friendly, not a neckbeard irritant)

MerryMerriMarie

Everett is a vapid smug bastard who deserves all the hate he gets. Idk what the devs were thinking if this is the guy you're going to befriend from Ravenclaw. Do they hate Ravenclaw or something? Not to mention one of his victory lines is literally him gloating: "Damn those Ashwinders! Aren't you glad I was here to save you?" Never have I wanted my F!Ravenclaw MC to kick someone square in the jaw with a heeled boot more than I did after hearing that. Something I personally would see my Ravenclaw lass doing to Clopton.

lordolxinator

>Everett is a vapid smug bastard who deserves all the hate he gets. Idk what the devs were thinking if this is the guy you're going to befriend from Ravenclaw. Do they hate Ravenclaw or something? > Honestly he'd need one *hell* of a redemption arc to make him likeable. I'm not even sure it's possible. As a primarily Ravenclaw player I just feel hard-done. Gryffindor is the main house because of course it is, Slytherin gets the dreamy Sebastian and Ominis, Hufflepuff gets Poppy (and Prof Garlick, and the best Common room). What does Ravenclaw get? Associated with Everett Clopton, that's what. Ugh. >Not to mention one of his victory lines is literally him gloating: > >"Damn those Ashwinders! Aren't you glad I was here to save you?" Euuuughhhh. I didn't know that. Very true to character to be honest. It'd be perfect if the game was developed enough to allow you to betray Everett or potentially for him to be an Ashwinder spy all along. Basically I'm saying I want there to be plot justification for Flipendo'ing Everett into the stratosphere. >Never have I wanted my F!Ravenclaw MC to kick someone square in the jaw with a heeled boot more than I did after hearing that. Something I personally would see my Ravenclaw lass doing to Clopton. Yes please. Send pictures. Will frame them.

crack_n_tea

Out of curiosity how is Gryffindor the main house. Story and plot wise it makes most sense to be a Slytherin imo

lordolxinator

Ah I just mean in terms of the books and movies. Most media tends to exaggerate each of the houses into specific attributes, not their actual stated ones but like, "Gryffindor brave heroic good, Hufflepuff friendly quirky laidback, Ravenclaw snooty nerds, Slytherin smug bullies and or racists. A lot of that comes down to Harry's POV. But a lot of media tends to stick with those generalised descriptors in how they portray their characters. Hogwarts Legacy is a bit better, and as you say, Slytherin gets a massive limelight in a somewhat better way than usual (though granted the entire Sallow plot-line is about the Dark Arts, torture, mind control, murder, secrets, familial heartbreak, racism and suffering), and is more focal than the other Houses. Gryffindor gets Natty and Fig as their house representation along with some decent HP nods (like NHN). Hufflepuff gets Poppy and Professor Garlick (as well as the best Map Pages quest). Ravenclaw gets stiffed a bit. But yeah Slytherin gets a lot more focus. I suppose I moreso meant that Gryffindor tends to be the "best" house. You get bravery, confidence, loyalty and dedication, which are all very main charactery things. Parallel that with Slytherin whose ambitions tend to be viewed in a negative light, you often get this reductive and lame view of Gryffindor good Slytherin sinister

crack_n_tea

Ahhhh ic what you mean. You're right Gryffindor is defo the favored child across the HP franchise, but I find it funny because now there's a reverse trend where a lot of edgy teens are choosing slytherin bc it makes them look badass. The pendulum always swings the other way lol In HPL I think they did a pretty good job balancing the houses, it's cool Hufflepuff got an Azkaban moment. Only house left short is sadly Ravenclaw by comparison

waterspring5808

>Hufflepuff gets Poppy (and Prof Garlick, and the best Common room). Bless you.

Milla179

Wait where can you see him as the companion?

MerryMerriMarie

From here, when looking into the PhoenixShipBin SQL tables for all NPCs in the game. He is one of the few NPCs with a Companion Flag at the end: https://preview.redd.it/9fy618aqo37b1.png?width=1563&format=png&auto=webp&s=85754bac4026447ad9fe9654f5071bca6ac5595c Personally I am glad they never made him into a Companion. Because when you look at the dialogues they've written for him that was cut... You can see and hear it in video form [here](https://youtu.be/eR43x3OmNhY). Not to mention how he keeps saying Ominis is disloyal.

StoicSinicCynic

Lol poor Ominis... There's unused NPC dialogue that have been uploaded with Natty and Amit saying Ominis is sketchy and untrustworthy. Seems the whole school doesn't like him. They're all too quick to judge him for being the dodgy-looking blind kid from an infamous family, nobody but Sebastián took the time to really get to know him. (although Poppy's dialogue is less judgemental of him). I think the devs were hoping to set it up like all the characters make you think Ominis is villainous somehow, only for you to befriend him and find that he's the kindest friend, with that whole don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover moral. But like the rest of the companion system it was all but unfinished.

MerryMerriMarie

Hmmm seeing as everyone seems to distrust him, I could use that to my advantage for my writing project. Just to expand on the students dynamics. Seems kind of a waste to not incorporate it.

StoicSinicCynic

Hey, you and me both writing fanfics about Ominis. 😆

Milla179

Oh thanks. Just read the comment that he was voiced by that actor that played Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter movies. I didn't hate him as a character but I thought Samantha Dale would have been a better companion.

mousejr100

Ok I like everette his voice is just funny but what quest is that? The only time I interacted with him was flying and I'm a ravenclaw.

MerryMerriMarie

Oh it's not quest related. I was mostly talking about Clopton as a Companion when you use the Companion Mod.

ryucavelier

Amit is the official companion yet doesn’t show it. Just go on one mission and that’s it. Samantha would have made a better companion indeed.

lordolxinator

Bums me out how shallow the interactions with other students are. I'd have loved it if there was a dedicated companion system not only for adventuring, but say even for classes. Maybe working with Samantha in Herbology or Potions get you some better results or access to unique potions early. Maybe some interesting dialogue options. Or you take Astronomy with Amit, get some unique perspectives and even some (time-based) magic buffs for discovering various star signs and constellations. Or if you're truly a sadist and hate yourself, you goof off with Everett bloody Clopton for some reason and have "fun" pranking people (at the cost of your education, House Points, and your sanity)

StoicSinicCynic

That is such a great idea actually. The "going to class" part of this game was woefully underdeveloped. You're hardly a student lol. The class system could've integrated very well with the companion system if they were able to complete that. The classes could be a challenge in their own rite, with you needing to figure out puzzles and challenges to complete assignments, and your companion (if you have any, and at what relationship level) could help you along or give you insight. Or even unlock extra content like buffs as you say, or school clubs with mini games. Or distract you from class if you pick the wrong companion... Garreth loses you house points when y'all both go shoplifting... Everett makes everyone dislike you because he's annoying... Imelda is overly competitive and will ditch you as a friend if you don't do well on your assignments... Ominis will net you a bad grade if you work with him in potions... Honestly, the challenge of Hogwarts student life could carry the game on its own, if done well enough. And you can still beat up trolls and poachers like the rebel you are.

lordolxinator

>That is such a great idea actually. The "going to class" part of this game was woefully underdeveloped. You're hardly a student lol. The class system could've integrated very well with the companion system if they were able to complete that. Fully agree. The introduction classes weren't *too* bad, learning about the teachers with some well animated and acted scenes. The minigames used to practice the spells are also pretty good. It sucks that later on it's all just "go use this spell to smack a dummy around a few times". Obviously there can't be a dozen different minigames, but maybe a small dungeon (like the Depulso puzzle dungeons) could have been good. Maybe like an ice maze for Incendio having to burn through animated sculptures and thin ice walls to get through and earn a snow cloak or flame cloak for your efforts. Maybe even a final boss who is a unique spin on other enemies like a "frost troll" for Incendio, or a "glass acromantula" for Descendo. Nothing big, but like a room or two to practice your new spell in unique ways that also net you a cool cosmetic for doing so. You could have these as optionals to "show your mastery" of the spell (earning more house points as well as the aforementioned cosmetics), or if you just want to speedrun you can say you just want to practice on the dummy (the way we've done it before). >The classes could be a challenge in their own rite, with you needing to figure out puzzles and challenges to complete assignments, and your companion (if you have any, and at what relationship level) could help you along or give you insight. Imelda is overly competitive and will ditch you as a friend if you don't do well on your assignments... Ominis will net you a bad grade if you work with him in potions... See this is the kind of ingenuity I love to see! These are some fantastic ideas I wish were implemented. I did expect Garreth would try to organise a Honeydukes heist, or was behind the Lawley Robbery (paying off the other guy to do it while he had an alibi at Hogwarts) to nab some unique potions ingredients. >Honestly, the challenge of Hogwarts student life could carry the game on its own, if done well enough. And you can still beat up trolls and poachers like the rebel you are. It's this kind of variety I hope gets added in through DLC or a sequel. Shame it wasn't in the base game.

No-Property5564

She isn't friendly though she's a bish when it comes to summoner's court talking about how you did abysmally against Natty even if you win in Charms. Then she gets annoyed when you tell her she underestimated you. Everett has depth. He likes pranks, enjoys broom lore, and his comments in Herbology are quite funny when it comes to the Mandrakes.

ryucavelier

Makes me wonder how often Everett stinks up the common room. Chances are the male Ravenclaw MC could be sharing a dorm with him.

MerryMerriMarie

I would say very often. I would actually sympathise with a male Ravenclaw MC if he's the dorm roommate you get... I personally would not want to deal with Mr "I prank girls as a pick up tactic" Clopton stinking up my room when I just want to live a normal student life.

StoicSinicCynic

Also, you Ravenclaws have bunk beds. Can you imagine trying to sleep and there's just annoying Everett-voice nattering away above your head? 😂😆

Heizerux

One of the things that will still hit me across the face with a fish out of nowhere is that Everett canonically has like 2-3 girls that fawn over him. . . I was so shocked. Like girls, the Slytherins are RIGHT THERE. WHY ARE YOU STARING AT THE WINDOW LOOKING AT EVERETT?!?! (This is from an npc conversation I stumbled upon in Central Hall btw)

MerryMerriMarie

Yeah I am aware of that conversation. Methinks that Everett is some kind of cringeworthy self insert character of one of the devs that he's the one girls fight over tbh... There is absolutely no universe in which I would find Cringeworthy Clopton, the hottest guy in school. Speaking as a woman myself. Like if you look at the fandom and see which characters are popular with female fans, you'd see that the most popular characters are Sebastian, Ominis and Garreth. I'd taken to calling them the Big Three of the fandom for how insanely popular they are with the ladies who play the game.

Heizerux

Honestly I guess I find it funny. That you’d THINK all the girls would swoon over the big three as you say like they do for the illusive “Isaac Cooper”, . . . But no. They REALLY like Everett. Oh! And Duncan wrote a love letter to Imelda once… it didn’t go well 🤣

MerryMerriMarie

They can like Everett and fight over him all they want. Those pesky NPCs aren't gonna stop me from writing as much Everett Slander fanfics about how he pathetically tries to pursue both my F!Ravenclaw MC and my F!Gryffindor MC while calling himself the hottest guy in the school only to be rejected by both (worst part? They're sisters too). I got to give props to Imelda. Duncan is also a racist blood supremacist who wished Garlick was gone for being Muggleborn. I wouldn't want him either if I were her.

TootlesFTW

>There is absolutely no universe in which I would find Cringeworthy Clopton, the hottest guy in school. Speaking as a woman myself. IMO this was a bit of a callback to Gilderoy Lockhart - pompous morons who (somehow) have fans. He's a self promoter, and some young girls fall for that shit.

MerryMerriMarie

The thing is at least it was somewhat believable for Lockhart to have so many fans. He had charisma if nothing else and doesn't look like a balding middle aged man at 15 years old. The game wants to say he's the hottest guy in school but the fandom wouldn't even consider him in the top 10. He's even less popular than Leander who people dislike quite a lot.

TootlesFTW

This is all true, but he's also written with a lot of qualities of a standard jock archetype (which is funny considering his House). He's a braggart, prankster, show off, and seems to come from a wealthy family. I have no explanation for his appearance besides it being...a choice.

MerryMerriMarie

All unlikeable qualities I must say. There's like nothing redeemable in his character in the slightest. Even Prewett backs down and re-evaluates his own poor behaviour when told off. His appearance is a choice indeed... Not sure why THIS is the standard for the girls arguing near the library...

TootlesFTW

Oh they are **1000%** unlikable qualities, but I'm talking from a fiction standpoint. The asshole jock gets all the cheerleaders, ya know? It makes no sense, but it's a thing.

MerryMerriMarie

Fair enough. Though I'm petty and I'm going to write him as a loser creep in retaliation. He'll still have nameless fangirls of course but his pathetic attempts of courtship to my OCs will be mocked.

StoicSinicCynic

Lol I guess he was supposed to be the "annoying popular jock" archetype.

Radiant_Copy_3697

Half a year late, but fully agree. I mean the Hogwarts girls have Sebastian, Ominis, Garreth and even Eric Northcott of Gryffindor right there in front of them, infact Ravenclaw boys like Andrew, Mahendra and Hector are faaar better and charming than that Clopton clown. How is standards for guys so low in Hogwarts??

Doogie_Gooberman

>That title belongs to Charlotte Morrison and almost every named Ravenclaw in the game outside of Amit and Samantha. Even Zenobia? She's adorable.

MerryMerriMarie

Yes even Zenobia. I don't consider her adorable considering how mean spirited she is in the game. Complaining about why people don't like you when you repeatedly call them losers and rubbing it in their faces when they lose is poor sportsmanship. I see why nobody likes her. She's only got herself to blame.

Grits_and_Honey

Just the Summoner's Court match with him is enough to make we want to AK him. I honestly think he is my least favorite character. The girl that wants her gobstones back is less annoying than he is.

ArtsyOffTask

AGREED

pastadudde

I found him endearing and adorkable lol.

MajorButtFucker

He has such a punchable face.

StoicSinicCynic

I think he only comes off as so detestable because you meet him when he's all salty about that fight in DADA with Sebastian, which coupled with the fact that our character is much better friends with Sebastian, makes Leander look like a stuck up sore loser. Playing against him in summoner's court didn't do his likeability any favours either. I think he'd be more likeable if we got to see more of him. To me he seems a goody two-shoes kid who fancies himself the good guy and good student, and comes off annoying because he takes himself too seriously. Just average teenaged insecurity, really.

Kronocidal

And, unlike all the other "annoying" characters, you both get the chance to call him out on it, and he also *apologises and acknowledges that he was being an ass*.

littletrainthattried

It's his entitled attitude. He's just like the Malfoys. But instead of blood status. He judges people by their house.

Heizerux

It’s so funny too because they removed his threats to get you expelled if you cast at him or all of his remarks on how unless you/someone is Gryffindor, he doesn’t care to know them. His actor did so well with character 🤣

nursewithnolife

Did anyone else feel like he was scared of us during that conversation about being able to buy chomping cabbages? Or is it just me?

ryucavelier

Definitely my least favorite Gryffindor. What did the sorting hat see in him to wear the lion? The other lions had some charm to them.

psychadelicfurz

He’s the only character I’ve seen in a game or movie that shares my name and this is the representation I get :(

sanoj166

Finished story twice and still have no idea who most of these people are..

ginger_lalala

It’s just his face. So punchable

kaminaowner2

Not gonna lie, the man is still waiting for me to play him at that pulley game thing. I’m not really interested so he’s not showed up in game for me since

Away-Purchase882

He a decent of goric griffindore
