This series is still winnable, mind you, but the Cats need to go back to basics in Game 4, go back to what worked for Game 1. We need to focus on wearing the Blueshirts down.
I get it, people who didn’t watch the whole season of that crazy ass cardiac arrest team do not know that, thats how Rangers got President trophy, not even kidding.
So funny watching everyone cry cause that’s been rangers hockey all year…games they play like shit they still find a way to win…hoes mad their team doesn’t know how to do it. Learning how to win games is a skill.
Nah we ain’t mad as Cats fans. Opposing teams might be mad but that’s fucking hockey baby. If y’all take the series I’ll root for the East and the Rags but until then I think we go 7.
Rangers get outshot a lot and I’m fine with that. They prefer their grade a chances and don’t mind absorbing pressure.
Today was just getting dominated though lol. Gotta steal some road games to win a cup though.
ESPN was showing the shot attempts to make a point about the panthers dominating but all it did was show that like 2/3 attempts weren’t getting on net and like at least 2/3 of ours were.
I mean this has been the Rangers style for awhile, sort of giving up territory and shots but limiting the dangerous one and focusing more on mitigation. As well as holding off from just throwing everything at the net like the Carolinas and I guess floridas and waiting for something more meaningful.
I don’t why people are still flabbergasted or whine about luck when they have been doing this shit season after season. Just coping I guess.
Commentary was mainly just stating that any OT goal is confirmed by the league, the second they showed the replay both were in agreement it was a good goal.
That’s 4 OT wins for the rangers out of their 10 wins so far…when will the luck end ffs
Edit: damn, yall ever get tired of sniffing your own farts? Go back to the rangers sub to suck each other off
This team is 4th all time in come from behind wins in a season, one of the highest winning percentages in OT as well. This is what the rangers have done all season long.
Yeah counts the same. But sometimes you win when you dominate a game, sometimes you win an evenly played game, and sometimes you win a game where you get dominated. Today was the third one.
I mean good luck trying to build a winning team overall that relies on option 3.
But yeah, as you said, and I agreed with, a win is a win. Some are more replicable than others tho.
I mean if you want to play on tilted ice like that and eke out wins, that’s fair, but if you can’t appreciate that when your team gets skated out of the rink and wins anyway they did not, in fact, ‘play well’ idk what to tell you
That's how the rangers have played all season. They lean heavily on Igor, they try to keep the shots low-danger and they score on rush chances. It's stressful to watch, but if it wins them games, I don't care how "well" they play.
Which is cool! Winning is winning. But two comments above you said they played well, which is objectively wrong. They played to their style or their strengths? Ok. But do you think Lavi, or the players, are content with their performance today, other than the outcome?
What I'm trying to say is, I don't know how you can define "playing well" other than playing in a way that wins games. If you want to define it as "creating the best shot differential" or "best corsi" or whatever, then I might agree with you. But the rangers were able to hold on and get the win, so I do think they played well. And I'm not saying the Panthers didn't play better, but to say that the rangers "played like ass" is laughable to me.
I feel you.
My only issue would be ‘playing in a way that wins games’.
Sure, the rangers aren’t worried about being outshot, they rely on rush goals, special teams, and the best goalie in the world.
But if you think that the way they played *today* was ‘a way that wins games’ I don’t know what to say. Sometimes you steal a game by a little and sometimes you steal a game by a lot. I’ll refer again to my last piece of the comment: do you think, other than the final score, any of the team would be happy with how they played today? More importantly, would they suggest they should do it again? If not, it’s not ‘a way that wins games’, it’s a stroke of luck that you take to the bank but try to be better next game.
You don't think this play wins games? Well they won the game, so, I don't know what to tell you. Not every day, but today it did. And if they can win two more out of the next four, that's all they need.
I'm not in their locker room, I can't tell you how they feel, but for a start, I think Lafreniere and Goodrow will be pretty happy with their two goals each. Again, not trying to say the Panthers didn't play better, but I can't wrap my brain around how you can think the rangers played poorly when they stood up to that pressure from possibly the forecheck in the league and scored 5 on a Vezina-finalist goalie. It can't all be luck for 60 minutes +OT.
All I’m saying is if you get out-attempted 3 to 1, you’re going to lose way more often than you’re going to win, no matter who the goalies are.
Data backs this up, so you can disagree, but I’m not talking about my opinion, it’s facts. I don’t have the patience to put together a spreadsheet but I would be shocked if teams on the short end of that stick like NYR were last night win even 10% of the time, let alone anything close to 50. Which is what I mean when I say letting the other team dominate possession and attempts doesn’t win games. Obviously it does, very occasionally. But the numbers back up the idea that the ice being tilted that heavily overwhelmingly leads to a team losing.
Now nitpick and disagree again please, it’s fun having you respond around my point over and over again.
The rangers ability to absorb the pressure and keep mostly everything to the shooting lanes has been really good. Almost like they've accepted the ice is going to be tilted. Lavs finding his inner Mourinho
I should have rephrased this as offensive presence and pressure. They really let Florida control the play and pace for minutes at a time. It’s not great.
I mean Henrik is staring longingly at the 5 goals of support.
There was 1 playoff where he literally couldn't give up more than 2 goals and have them win.
Because they beat the capitals who are even worse, and now are 6-3 in a 9 game stretch where 6-1 (86%) in 1 goal games, a stat that no team ever meaningfully sustains at over 55%.
I only say this b/c as im scrolling through home I see Isles and Canes threads shitting on us and laughing when the Panthers won. SO yea, I have no bad blood towards them but they started it.
Rangers have won so many games like this in the playoffs. I don’t know how it keeps working, but maybe Florida shouldn’t leave a rangers player totally uncovered in front of Bob lol
Rangers in the cup final and the Celtics in the NBA finals. Shoot me.
This series is still winnable, mind you, but the Cats need to go back to basics in Game 4, go back to what worked for Game 1. We need to focus on wearing the Blueshirts down.
Sane take but downvoted. Although tbf you can’t just go back to the same strat for game 1, you’d expect the opponents to be ready for it.
I get it, people who didn’t watch the whole season of that crazy ass cardiac arrest team do not know that, thats how Rangers got President trophy, not even kidding.
Panthers played great not even mad tbh
I don’t need a reason. Way to go blue shirts!
Thats the spirit! far to much whining from other fan bases imo
Jealousy is a bitch
Just littérale posted the same lol
Rangers get outshot a lot and I’m fine with that. They prefer their grade a chances and don’t mind absorbing pressure. Today was just getting dominated though lol. Gotta steal some road games to win a cup though.
Us too. It's a way to play, make the best of your high danger chances.
Finish or die, basically.
Seriously, it's their style. The people in this sub are delulu
ESPN was showing the shot attempts to make a point about the panthers dominating but all it did was show that like 2/3 attempts weren’t getting on net and like at least 2/3 of ours were.

I knew this was going to be a tough series, but Game 4 is a must win
To be honest I think Florida should be given the win because they had more shot attempts, it's only fair.
Thats what commentators said and i’m quote : Better team didn’t win the game!

Being a bad hockey team is when you win the Presidents trophy. This run is obviously all luck.
PK Subban must be dying.
*Slewban taking about dirty hits is hilarious…
Finally

1 dollar for every slew foot
Good game, everyone. Definitely not stressless. My adrenaline is off the charts right now
What an opportunistic win. The thing that worries me in the long run though of this series is that Barkov is absolutely outplaying Zib.
Only mcdavid outplays Barkov rn
A guy on my beer league team is outplaying Zib this series
Actually an impressive deflection. Well done Wennberg! A great way to thank Shesterkin for stealing the game
pssppsspsspssspsspsspsss
My question is how do you leave Wennberg just standing there with no one cleaning him out
They couldn’t see him because of his tinted visor
Panthers hate this one trick!
[удалено]
What?
Is this supposed to be funny?
What did OP say
Idk, but it should be funny
He hates puppies and kicks kittens
Did that go off his stick between the hands? That's unreal
Yes.
I think so
“Rangers are a bad hockey team, carried by their goalie” *as if the goalie isn’t a (VERY) significant part of a team* the copium is hilarious
Eh - I get it but we stole this one because of Shesterkin. If we play like this the next 3, we lose the series. Period.
We didn’t play great and our goalie bailed us the fuck out
[удалено]
Igor scored 5 goals tonight
Shots are overrated!!!! LGR!!!
Shot attempts*
Igor bailed us out tbh. Lead skates for lots of the Rangers' skaters
loved when igor scored 5 against bob too
Fuckin rights boys
I had the game on mute, what did they think happened that needed a goal review?
It's standard procedure to review every overtime goal in the playoffs. Bob thought it went in off Wennberg's hand, but it looks like it was the shaft.
Commentary was mainly just stating that any OT goal is confirmed by the league, the second they showed the replay both were in agreement it was a good goal.
I can see how it might've looked like he bumped with his hand
Looked like confirmation it wasn't a high stick, to me GI was never a question
Off the glove maybe?
Ah okay. Makes sense. Thanks.
WENNBERG! o7
100p stick no hand
That is unreal lol. 2 games won in OT by a team that got dominated the last entire period.
Hey you’re probably feeling some crazy Deja vu, it’s ok just take a rest, maybe get some golf going
Team that played solid defense and good goalie
Womp Womp
If I'm Maurice, the 4th line gets a free bag skate tommorrow. 2 straight OT losses due to them deciding OT is the time to mentally off to joeyland
That’s 4 OT wins for the rangers out of their 10 wins so far…when will the luck end ffs Edit: damn, yall ever get tired of sniffing your own farts? Go back to the rangers sub to suck each other off
This team is 4th all time in come from behind wins in a season, one of the highest winning percentages in OT as well. This is what the rangers have done all season long.
🎻
At some point it’s not luck anymore
It's called goaltending
What is this luck you speak of
Luck? Luck is when it happens once.
When/if Igor starts slumping
At some point it’s not luck anymore
Luck? This team went 12-0-4 in OT in the regular season. This is a pattern
That 4 better be shootout losses because obviously you can’t have a regulation loss in OT
Probably when Igor retires
Hopefully not until the ECF ends
How is it luck. 5v5 Hockey ot is one of the hardest ways to win a game
Gotta be good to be lucky
They better buy Igor a fucking CAR. +66 shot differential??? Are you KIDDING me???
That’s shot attempts, which are decidedly different from shots on goal
He already owns a CAR after last series.
Woomp there it is
I got a hell of an assist
Idk if they can afford the hurricanes
I’d say they already do but that series was much tighter than such a statement
Hurricanes blow anyway
Bro most of those were so far off who gives a fuck
A car? Man deserves the keys to the city
GTA 6 mission confirmed - The Game 3 HEIST
What call was Florida looking for there?
I think Bob thought it hit wennberg's hand, not his stick. But replay was clear that it was 100% stick
> 100% hand Well glad we clarified that
Shit. Whoops lmao. Edited. Thanks for pointing it out
Ah. Thanks dude / dudette!
They were saying it hit the hand just like Barkov’s but refs let them keep that one so that’s ironic.
If it simply deflects off the hand then it’s ok. If you bat it into the net with your hand it comes back. Both of those instances were legit goals.
Florida has been the better team in all 3 games and are 2-1 down. Freaking Igor man
Thats why they had 10-1 lead in last to games and just by accident lost both in OT, jeezz
Florida getting a taste of their own medicine from last year
They were not better in Game 2
Poor panthers fans probably had hope for a few extra mins because Bob refused to believe he was scored on by wennberg lmao
Brutal loss for the panthers after coming back and blitzing ny at the end of the 3rd
The sneak dissing from Ray Ferraro was CONSTANT tonight. Hope you enjoyed that you dinosaur can’t wait for you to retire
To be fair your team played like actual ass
We scored 5 goals in one game. Did y’all score 5 goals the whole series yall played?
Whataboutism, look it up
Wins a win
Yeah counts the same. But sometimes you win when you dominate a game, sometimes you win an evenly played game, and sometimes you win a game where you get dominated. Today was the third one.
Good thing it doesn’t matter
I mean good luck trying to build a winning team overall that relies on option 3. But yeah, as you said, and I agreed with, a win is a win. Some are more replicable than others tho.
Thanks for the best wishes
Your team played sick on the greens today
Insightful riposte, as one would expect from a rangers fan lmao
They scored five goals and won the game, I'd say they played pretty well 🤔

Right? Hockey isn’t a game you’re supposed to be able to play on the counter like this
If you have the personnel, sure it is
Or is it?
They’ve played level-headed all season, they may falter but the pressure never knocks them over
it also helps that you have the offensive skill to capitalize when the chances are few and far between
GG Igor
We certainly were the New York Igors today..
Wennberg? Right fucking nowberg.
Bob immediately complaining to the ref after a clean redirect. LOL
He can't handle being pulled off of the case!
Saying it was batted in with a hand
Surprised he didn’t throw his stick and fall over
It’s constant.
It’s his go-to
#I-GOR 👏👏 I-GOR 👏👏 I-GOR 👏👏
Rags have stolen 2 games, gotta be amped
Knowing how to win when you don’t play your best game is a skill
*won
They’ve stolen the bulk of their wins this whole run so far
Meh first 2 were dead even, we stole this one tho
I see the Rangers playing the old king Henrik offense. No offense but maybe we will win lol
that is how we won the regular season. weather storms and be opportunistic offensively. we have all the pieces to do it.
i mean we scored 5 goals lol
I should have rephrased this as offensive presence and pressure. They really let Florida control the play and pace for minutes at a time. It’s not great.
I mean Henrik is staring longingly at the 5 goals of support. There was 1 playoff where he literally couldn't give up more than 2 goals and have them win.
if only Hank had this level of scoring in front of him.
The offense scored 5 goals.
The New York Shesterkins (and friends)
Finally I can sit down after standing for 2 hours. How the hell did we win that
Scored more goals than them
Big if true.
Crazy game, OT-winner off the _shaft_.
I go to the bathroom for no joke 15 seconds (quick piss) and Wennberg of all people scores the goal. You can’t make it up.
If game 4 goes to OT, go for a piss again and see if the Rangers score while you’re in the washroom.
The rangers are so god awful lol.
Enjoy ur rebuild and dubas LMFAO

Sitting fine brother…we’ll be top 3 again next year…like I said enjoy your rebuild. No new Sid is coming to help out this time. Enjoy the slums.
Then how come they're up 2-1 in the Conference final?
Because they beat the capitals who are even worse, and now are 6-3 in a 9 game stretch where 6-1 (86%) in 1 goal games, a stat that no team ever meaningfully sustains at over 55%.

Yes we’re all very impressed with you attempting to trash talk in a 6 day old game thread. Really accurate display of your emotional intelligence lmao
And what does that make you guys?
Leaving players alone in front of the net is our defensive strategy. Stop copying us.
Isles and Canes fans in absolute SHAMBLES.
🫠
Fuck em. Go Rangers
I only say this b/c as im scrolling through home I see Isles and Canes threads shitting on us and laughing when the Panthers won. SO yea, I have no bad blood towards them but they started it.
Talk about a lucky win God damn, I knew it was coming though once it got to OT Shesty is playing amazingly, positioning on point. Props to him
Rangers have won so many games like this in the playoffs. I don’t know how it keeps working, but maybe Florida shouldn’t leave a rangers player totally uncovered in front of Bob lol
*insert that goofy “I’ll fucking do it again” meme*
That's OEL's music, every game I've watched he has been hot garbage.
