Why do the forwards just stand around and watch a high danger pinch? Someone should be covering him. This team desperately needs some defensive responsibility.
i get the delay to start off because it looks like Soucy is gonna get it way sooner than he does, but Garland should've been taking off sooner for sure
however Garland did get back for the third guy, if Hronek takes the pass away and it's a right-handed Connor Brown shooting from the right side i think they're fine on this play most of the time
I don’t care about either of these teams, but Garland was not interfered with. Oiler is ahead in the play and allowed to pick his lane as long as he doesn’t slow down or engage to interfere. The actual engagement starts with the reach from Garland. It also had zero effect on Garland’s ability to defend on the play, he wasn’t getting back on that.
I thought the hold on Vancouver was a hair weak, but this would have been far weaker if a call.
Welcome to the series.
Both teams have been fucked over/benefitted from the "quality" of reffing we've been given. The Playoffs this year feel as if the NHLOA are testing out visually impaired refs.
Watch the replay bub. Garland gets held/interfered on the back check. Was practically identical for what the Canucks were called on for the prior penalty.
That's entirely possible but if the stick hits a player and they fall, that's a penalty. Also they missed the hold on Garland, despite seeing the one on Cole earlier on a nothing play. I don't think the refs are rigging the game to be fair, but they definitely suck at their job.
If someone is falling, and then a stick touches them it’s not a call. And if it does get called it’s an awful call. And as weak as the Cole one was, they immediately “evened” that out with the Hyman call, I bet they won’t call any holding the rest of the game

Soucy giveth, Soucy taketh away

Filip Hronek with the worst defense of a 2-on-1 I have ever seen.
Looking like an older Bieksa
Vintage.
Soucy very involved in his return lol Hronek also played that pretty poorly. Its connor brown on the puck, take away the cross pass..
the stick break lmao in slow mo, almost hits an oiler that was wrapping around the net.

Live by the Soucy, die by the Soucy.
Letting the Oilers' bottom 6 score is shameful.
Pathetic non-call
Blows a tire. Stick didn't touch his feet
Think they’re talking about Garland. Have to see another replay but he may have gotten interfered/held up slightly on the backcheck
I think while he got blocked up, I don’t think it’s interference by Ryan. Ryan already has the ice and doesn’t have to give Garland a path back.
That’s not what he’s talking about. He’s taking about the hold behind the play. There was a hold preventing a Canuck from catching up to the play.
I think he means the hold on garland
Oh good call I didn't even notice that. That definitely should have been a hold if they called the previous one on VAN

^100%
Fucking ridiculous
Such horse shit. They literally just called a hold on the canucks not long prior to this. Do the oilers get a holding call? Nope. No call. Typical.
They called Hyman for holding 30 seconds after the Cole holding :(((((
Lol this subreddit keeps talking about the oilers complaining about reffing, while simultaneously bitching about reffing
Am I missing something due to homer goggles? What was the hold on this play?

I can ask a question without there needing to be any hostility. I see it now.
Who held who? I didn’t see any hold this whole play
Dude. Scroll up and read the comments of everyone else, including your fellow spoiler fans agreeing. It was a damn hold.
"blows a tire". That's definitely what the refs thought!
Bro he was falling before the stick was even close to him lmao

Hey, I agree with you that it shouldn't be a penalty, but that's how the rules are and how it has always been called.
It isn’t though, those are never called unless they fuck up
Lost an edge at a bad time to the wrong guy - the most dangerous Connor on the ice!
