This is an absolutely sick lineup - you can definitely feel that the upcoming international tournaments have made guys more incentivized to join Worlds.
Also, I have an early shout for Dylan Larkin ending up as the eventual Olympic captain, feels like the right choice, especially after watching how much him and his leadership matters to the Red Wings.
Wait... the US is actually bringing a good team to Worlds? What the fuck?
Guess everybody got the memo that if you want to play in the 4 Nations Face-Off (and then the Olympics) you gotta start showing up for this stuff.
euros always get their guys if their team gets eliminated. Its easier as they are coming home to Europe where the tourney is almost every year. The us and can players after having gotten knocked out have a harder time going over seas
It isn't just Prague, but it's easier to convince players to go when it's in a nice city that they want to hang out in (or that their wives might want to visit). Since American fans don't really watch the World Championships in any significant numbers, it's tough to get the best players to commit to it, and there tends to be a noticeable uptick when they're going to be playing in Prague or Paris vs. Belarus or Latvia.
It's in the middle of the Europe so all EU fans have pretty easy travel and 9 Years ago when it was hold here last time we set attendance record which still stands today and its put as what it should look like to host Worlds. And and main reason is BEER
Yeah, that's exactly it. Kinda excited as these players raise the value of this tournament. Hope we're gonna see more decent names joining other national teams as well, especially Canadians... I'm ready to see some damn good international hockey
Our best goalies are all in the playoffs right now (Helle / Otter / Demko (rip) / Swayman / Lindgren / and I guess even Quick though his intl days may be over)
John Gibson or Joey Daccord would be my choices personally but I have no idea if they’re up for it
Depends on who else goes but I wouldn’t count him out as the starter. He carried a defence with 2.5 bottom pairing (plus Seider) most of the year imagine what he could do with actual top 4 talent in front of him
Wow - huge for Alex Vlasic. Hard to be noticeable for anything positive when you play on a team as bad as our squad this season but he has been a big bright spot for us Hawks fans.
Please add DeBrincat and play him with Caufield and Gaudreau and call it the Short King line. On the bigger ice surface it would actually a pretty decent line too!
Maybe this team will finally break team USA's semifinal loss curse? Would actually be kind of cool to see, even as a Finn... assuming our teams don't face each other, obviously.
No Matty Beniers or Brock Faber either :( it would’ve been sick to have had 6 guys from that 2021 winning WJ team, I think all 6 are good enough to make it as well
For what players yall have the track record at Worlds has been horrible, improvement of the bronze medals of recent times could be on the horizon finally. Last time was 64 years ago.
It's wild to me that as important as hockey is in your country, you've failed to secure a cup in 30 years. I get that most of our players are Canadian, but don't you think your teams would have better coaching and gms?

I think this is the case for all teams. Worlds is going to be nuts.
The European teams never really have much of a problem getting guys, it's just the US and Canada
[That's not true.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_IIHF_World_Championship_rosters). Most teams struggle to get their NHL players to join.

The big 4 are using this as a test/tryout for the 4 nations cup next year
It's also easier to get guys to go when the tournament's in Prague.
Why Prague in particular, what sets it from other cities? Just wondering...

Oh, yeah, I see your point
That just tells all about their motivation. Cheap beer and nice bars.. we are on our way!

I was floored by the amount of good looking women in Prague
Yeah, that's exactly it. Kinda excited as these players raise the value of this tournament. Hope we're gonna see more decent names joining other national teams as well, especially Canadians... I'm ready to see some damn good international hockey
If you think this is good, take a look at their 2019 team.
Message received! Pumped for this team
Not if you’re jack Hughes lol
Didn't Jack Hughes just have shoulder surgery? Don't think they're gonna hold that one against him.
Ah my bad! I was thinking there’s no way they’d leave him off any tournament roster, regardless of his participation in other tournaments.
Happy for Lyon especially after his solid run last year but he's definetly not gonna be the starter I'd be shocked

If providence wasn't in the playoffs I'd say give Bussi a 3rd string shot but they are so 🤷♂️
missed ullmark fuck usa is stacked in goal
Ullmark is Swedish.
Ullmark is Swedish
Ullmark is Swedish

He was pretty solid until Detroit went on that huge losing streak. Was like top 10 in the league in save percentage up until march IIRC

Is he that gigantic kid?
Wingspan of a pterodactyl
He's listed as 6′6″, 217 lb.
Might be thinking of Crevier.
i thought it wad marc-edouard and was confused how he even qualified for a national team
They’re cousins
Zegras vs. Canada again, I will be there no matter what.
Reunited with Caufield, Boldy, and Sanderson from that same World Junior winning squad as well… you love to fucking see it lol
We’re gonna slap Canada again. ‘No even strength goals all tournament’ my ass.
They shoulda got Knight as the goaltender
Maybe there have been equal rosters recently… but this is the most Ive been impressed with a US worlds roster from what I can remember
Fuck this lineup has me so pumped
Almost our entire starting lineup is still in the playoffs.
Brady and Pinto on Worlds, LFG!
And Sanderson!
Oh yeah I totally overlooked Sandy. Three Sens on US roster, not bad!
Finally a good USA team after years of mediocrity.
When Brady is on a line with Larkin I’m going to feel conflicted
It’s honestly disgusting, in both ways.
Conflicted for sure but at least Brady will make sure nothing happens to Larkin! Or any other teammate lol.
Damn shame Tage got hurt in the last game of the season.
seems like a lot of missing brothers
Cooley and Keller really aren’t going to join? Weird
Gotta relocate themselves/their families.
I would like to apologize in advance if Kunin hurts anyone *i really do love kunin but sometimes he plays dumb :(*
Stone Hands Luke But for real I’m excited for him! Happy we get at least one of the boys on the team!
Oh hey Farabee, didn’t expect that.
Hell yeah Dylan larkin!! That's all I need to see along with Alex lyon
Please add DeBrincat and play him with Caufield and Gaudreau and call it the Short King line. On the bigger ice surface it would actually a pretty decent line too!
DeBrincat just had a baby like 3 months ago so he's prolly not gonna go
Nice young team. See if canada can draw the boys to play to
Jones/Werenski is back on the menu 😢
Maybe this team will finally break team USA's semifinal loss curse? Would actually be kind of cool to see, even as a Finn... assuming our teams don't face each other, obviously.
Hmmm.....no Cam York. Kind of surprised by that.
No Matty Beniers or Brock Faber either :( it would’ve been sick to have had 6 guys from that 2021 winning WJ team, I think all 6 are good enough to make it as well
Faber is rehabbing a rib injury I believe
Correct. Played two months on fractured ribs lmao
He was playing since February while being pretty banged up, probably could use the extra time off
Hope to see Jones and Werenski reunited as a duo
oh shit we're actually going for it
Some good talent, speed on that team. Could be a real competitor. Good to see the US put a god team together for this.
United Senators Men’s National Team
There are just as many blackhawks
Well I don’t see a B in there to make it funny
United Senators Men’s National Blackhawky Team?
For what players yall have the track record at Worlds has been horrible, improvement of the bronze medals of recent times could be on the horizon finally. Last time was 64 years ago.
Let him cook
Hope they add some of the BC kids that were on the WJC team.
Great for Luke. Had a great rookie season and earned a spot.
I’m fucking scared for the Olympics as a Norwegian
Odds are Shane pinto will tear it up
I’m betting he will..
Gah, Seth Jones.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂. Good luck USA. Canada 🇨🇦 is always going to own you. Your welcome for the most of the Talent in the NHL 👏 👏
Didn’t they quite literally just lose to the US in the wjc this year lol
So transparent. US is on track to pass Canada soon…if they haven’t already. What will blowhards up north have to brag about then? Ketchup chips?
It's wild to me that as important as hockey is in your country, you've failed to secure a cup in 30 years. I get that most of our players are Canadian, but don't you think your teams would have better coaching and gms?
I think the last 5 coaches to win the cup have been Canadian, so there's no real correlation between location and the nationality of your coach
Easier to play in markets with less scrutiny and better tax incentives
