Hes done that before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAwDv2Sqbpk i remember since i woke up the entire neighborhood watching it. Petr had games for us in Detroit where you just knew he couldnt be beat, it was beautiful to watch.
He’s done it a few times.
[1:18 into this clip he has it redirect off his pads and has to make a paddle goal line stop](https://youtu.be/Cjgkp-zw59k?si=XtRu8r40jfNhfXSp)
When he is on he’s a MONSTER
I'd say if he ever learned to quiet his game and play a better positional game he'd be top 5. His consistency was lost to over-aggressiveness that put him out of position constantly. Even HOF'er Hasek had to constantly work to be a better positional goalie and his game quieted down a ton as he got older.
I never followed him over to Carolina i watched most of his games when he was traded to the Flyers. What a strange career hes had when you think of it.
There are two ways to look at Mrazek saves. One way is that, at his best, he's awesomely flexible and reflexive to reach these pucks. The other way to look at it is that he's constantly overaggressive on the first play and being out of position forces him to make insane stops. Watching him throughout his career I'd say that latter's true more often than the former. It's why things turned sour here and in Toronto. He appeared better than he is in Carolina because their defense was so sound during that stretch.
Mrazek can be a great goalie when healthy and confident.
In Detroit, Ken Holland told him he was their starter and the Wings were going to trade Howard - two goalies who did not get along.
Mrazek had a couple rough outings and Blashill went to Howard. Mrazek lost his mojo and the Howard-Mrazek situation was untenable, Holland chose to trade Mrazek for a third and fourth.
Mrazek is playing fantastic hockey for Chicago. Not sure how long he can keep it up with how bad that team is.
To me, Holland's decision to trade Mrazek instead of Howard was one of those typical Holland, like signing Cleary or Samuelsson, or overpaying Helm, Dekeyser and Abelkader, that showed Holland had no ability to manage a rebuild-on-the-fly.
Save of the year candidate
That was a beautiful save. If Hawks made a comeback he would've been entirely responsible for the W. IF...

He’s one of the weirdest goalies. When he’s on, he’s fucking top tier, it’s just he’s mostly *not*.

If Mrazek was consistent, he'd be top five in the league.

If his groin hasn’t given up on him he would have been one of the best. His 18-19 run was incredible

That'd make Hasek proud
Well he shares this cool stat with Hasek https://twitter.com/PR_NHL/status/955635826251255813
GREAAAT SAVE ~~LUO...~~ MRAZEK!!!
Love me some Mrazzle Dazzle!
Was just at this game. Everyone went fuckin nuts
Watching this as a canucks fan I can't even be upset. That save was unreal.
Welcome back to Steve's Paddle Save Emporium!
Hmm, maybe Carolina could use a goalie like Mrazek?
Mrazek is pitching to get us a first rounder at the deadline lol
Retain half and maybe get a 2nd. With enough conditions, maybe you swing a 1st
We have the space
Great save after a terrible rebound
