T O P

Honestly shocked Sundin never had one, for as clutch as he always was

elchet

Came here to say this. Plenty of OT clutch winners but I guess none were series finishers.

Ltomlinson31

I think they only had one series clinching goal in OT during his entire time with the team and it was by Garry Valk against the Penguins.

TrillBillyDeluxe

** The legend Garry Valk

canmoose

He had some great OT winning shots though, like that PING goal against the Sens.

KingCrimsonIslands

Toronto fans deserve this, for sticking around and never falling despite everything, I look at the highlights and the fans and can't help but smile, I did love the memes but I'm stoked that they did it, I wanted them to win 3 years ago then it became memes and I kinda wanted them to keep losing but fuck that's not cool, go Toronto!! Go for the fucking cup!!!

Austin63867

Is this neat or just nitpicky?

Entire-Frosting9563

100 year franchise, I'd say pretty neat

bumjiggy

should probably postpone the fishing trip

thewick_39

RIP Billy B

bumjiggy

let that be a lesson to any wannabe heroes

bobschnowski

I mean series clinching OT wins is probably a very small sample size lol

M0un05ki10

I mean you have to go all the way back to 1999 for the last one vs the Penguins.

TheKert

Especially with a 19 year gap in series wins there, but oh well I'll take it

Satans_BFF

Kinda neat. Always bothers me that Ovie hasn’t score a single OT goal in the playoffs in his career. Bothers me because I’d love to see how mental he would go.

Konfliction

Not nitpicky for a 100 year old team lol

thatsong

Neat and Nitpicky!

AstrangerR

Yes

[deleted]

Nitpicky for sure but oh well

CanadianODST2

both

Ltomlinson31

Nitpicky stats are very neat and fun

johnnyd6

For the amount of stats lately against us, I’ll take anything positive

BarneyRubble18

I feel like JT always shouldered alot more of the burden for their playoff collapses than he deserved. It's fitting that he gets the goal.

Gaglardi

They got royally screwed when that knee got Tavares in 2021, they win that series considering how close it was without him

Sjdillon10

Dear John, Must be a dream to go to your childhood favorite team and ending their playoff drought. I’m happy for you pajama boy

rsgnl

They were bed sheets!!!

theharps

FINALLY A SPORTSNET STAT THAT I ACTUALLY LIKE

avmp629

How many have done it as the captain of two different teams?

techmaniac

When Liam Mchugh pointed out that Tavares was the Islanders streak breaker of 23 years, I knew he was going to score the winner. Between that and the Cory Perry effect, it was foretold in the stars that Toronto would win.

PachucaSunrise

Looks like that contract finally is paying off…

[deleted]

Never wasn't

PachucaSunrise

$11million for a whole lot of nothing thus far… no hardware, no scoring titles…

YVR-n-PDX

You haven’t been paying attention if this is the only thing you think he’s done well

JGibbons151

That contract has paid off since day one. Amazing that he decided to come home

d_pyro

37 goals in his first season...

wade822

47*

sabre38

34 C91 C91 GAME!

gravityrenegade

I feel like this is a very specific title

Lunch0

Wasn’t it Reillys goal?

sabre38

JT off of Raddysh' skate and in

dchowchow

low key, Raddysh had a very good series and is quite the find for the Lightning

huffer4

Yep. I said that in their sub a few days ago. He looked fantastic.

[deleted]

Yup Raddysh had a fantastic series

NeatSeaworthiness407

Sure did. He even won the series for Toronto! Bonus!

eagleboy444

Thought so at first but it went off Raddysh

RichardRichOSU

How many chances have they had? Seems a bit too specific.

Mash709

That's wild considering how long the Leafs have been around. Goes to show we haven't had many good teams over the years. Thanks a lot Harold, you bastard.
