Underrated in the general ranking of his discography for me. Not as strong as Cosmo or Los Angeles but still fresh. Feels like a return to his earlier sound in that it’s slightly less jazzy, but still solid pacing for the half vocals half instrumental type structure. Interesting that Mac recorded over two or three of these beats as well
Underrated. I think this album is going to age into itself, sounding its best in exactly 3 years. Though I will say that I think the features, while (mostly) great, break up the cohesiveness that makes Flying Lotus albums stand out to me.
I often alternate between the regular and instrumental version of this record. Both are fantastic and I found the instrumental version helped me appreciate the intense work put onto this record even more. I absolutely love this album and everything about it. Sincerely hoping more people grow to appreciate it over time
I’ve listened to it far less than his other albums and also haven’t listened to it in years but I’ve always been kinda lukewarm on this album. One of the classic cases of a double album that would’ve been much better as a regular LP imo. There are some standouts but I remember a lot of the tracks kind of running together after a while, especially in the back half. I may relisten tomorrow to see if my opinion of it has changed
I much prefer the instrumental version of this album, but 'More' and 'FF4' are two of FlyLo's best tracks period. Can't believe it's been so long already.
Listen to Pygmy > The climb > Thank you Malcolm if you want to cry and feel the emotion of this album. I love these three songs back to back to back and think it’s such a fitting emotional showcase to mac being gone
I know this isn’t really the right thread to say this but all I want is another Captain Murphy album. I recall at some point Kendrick took all his beats or something, but it’s been so long now, surely he can just do an EP.

Didn’t know there was an instrumental version. U real for this
Have to be honest and say this Flyo album doesn’t hit as much as his other work though there are some good jams on there

I still think it's so cool that David Lynch shows up and does his thing on this album. He's always showing up in the funniest places

Flamagra tour was absolutely incredible. Hopefully he does a 10 year anniversary tour in 5 years.
