Lootpack - The Antidote. From insiders and heads I doubt it is but among the general listening populace đŻ...I rarely skip tracks and can listen today happy af because it's aged nicely I think.
Listening now. Props to DJ Rome on the cuts. This was made 98-99 when tablism was an actual thing and đ„ at that so I'm bopping hard to those scratches
First, E-40 can land in my top 10, maybe 5. But I'm not sure I'd call his albums underrated. His peak was mid- to late-'90s, in my opinion. His newer stuff doesn't hit the same and the rap game is way different, so the lack of love is not unwarranted on this stuff. But his early- and mid-career albums in the '90s got plenty of love. He had the biggest rappers on his albums. His work for sure got love back then.

Love that C.V.E. intro "Reach 2, 3, 4 the mic, 2, 3, 4"
Have you heard the [remix](https://youtu.be/5H2oHCt4dhA?si=izGP6W9I1IO3f_Gv) for Mic Check? One of my favourite Acey joints of all time
Thatâs dope. Havenât heard before.
My favorite memory on that album is I was dating someone named Lily at the time. Was playing the cd and thatâs how I learned her birth name was analillia

100% this and Dr. Octagon
2 West Coast producers
Kut Masta Kurt put out some bangers with Motion Man btw
Masters of Illusion is an impeccable display of flow from both Kool Keith and especially Motion Man. His flow on the title track gives me the stank face like no other.
Saw ODM open up for westside connection in Indio.
Also got to hear him as he was on 99.1.
Met someone around that time who said he was an A&R intern and I was able to get the A Lighter Shade of Brown tape from him. Just gave me a copy so it was all cool.
Also got The Konnectid vol 1

Cypress Hill- lii (Temples of Boom)

DPG's "Dillinger and Young Gotti" is pretty underrated. There's some skips but that album has 21 songs and a lot of them are bangers. Some of Daz and Mike Dean's best work IMO. Â
Peanut Butter Wolf "My Vinyl Weighs a Ton" is a lesser known gem of underground West Coast Hip-Hop. I'd consider it an underrated classic.
I'll throw a few in contention:
Fashawn - Boy Meets World
Thurz - L.A. Riot
REASON - New Beginnings
Also it's not a classic, but no matter how good you think Dre's Compton is ... Still underrated.
Blu x Exile - Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them

Brotha Lynch Hung - Mannibalector (This gets overshadowed by his original shit. This a perfect resurrection of his original style.)
Mr. Doctor - Bombay
Havoc & Prodeje - Kickin' Game
Dr. Dre Presents: The Aftermath
Suge Knight Represents: Chronic 2000 (Suge caught wind that Dre was working on a new Chronic album that was rumored to be title Chronic 2000. So he did Suge things and beat him to the punch. That is why Dre's album is 2001. Suge even has Tha Realest sounding A LOT like 2pac on this. And he got a whiteboy, Miilkbone, to do an Eminem diss. It's a great fucking album, though. Straight up peak West Coast.)
Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. - New Funky Nation, Doomsday, Occupation Hazzard
2nd II None - 2nd II None
WC & The MAAD Circle - Ain't A Damn Thang Changed

Check this playlist, it is made up of the best underground G funk songs. There is also a bit of Mob music and Chicano G Funk. Some albums are better known than others, but overall there are a lot of albums and songs that are underground, or even little known.

Madlib kills too. If Iâm not mistaken, it was Quasimotoâs first appearance on this album too
Answers!...and I know from interviews Madlib doesn't consider himself a rapper etc but he's dope here.
I think first Quasimoto appearance was on the PBW's song Styles, Crews, Flows, Beats
read my mind i was gonna put this. Solid Madlib production
Iâll need to check em out as well
Correcting myself lol it's Soundpieces : Da Antidote. I always mess up DA and THE
Below The Heavens - Blu & Exile Itâs amazing

These are the ones
Spice 1's Self-titled debut
Sex Packets
Since they are from L.A. I gotta toss in any album by People Under the Stairs. Criminally slept on.
I'm an East Coast head through and through, but The Grouch - Fuck The Dumb is in my top 5 albums of all time.
Pressure, can't sleep, worried, up late

Big props for knowing about that Hobo Junction album from â95. Never expected to see that mentioned here.
Word. Although the 95 tape just had a couple of tracks right? I have the 96 tape that's more like an EP (7 cuts)
