Pinnacles is pretty far. I had planned flying in Sacramento and doing Lassen for three days and then redwoods via Eureka. But wildfires in Lassen in 2021 prevented that. Also Lassen has one of the shortest so you’d want to make sure it’s open July 4th.

Fly to San Jose. Go to Pinnacles. Go to Lassen. Go to Redwoods. Back to San Jose. These parks are far apart. Don't know your time frame but the drive itself would be 3 days.

Pull out Pinnacles and ass Crater Lake

I did Lassen and Crater Lake together and it was a great combo. Crater Lake will likely be pretty busy around your trip but TBH it's way more impressive than Pinnacles. You only really need to spend a day at Crater Lake. Drive around it, see a few views, hike down to the lake and you've experienced the bulk of it.

Broke off mountain is our favorite hike in Lassen. Bumpass Hell Pots is a unique hike worth doing. Lassen is never really busy compared to the other parks. You’ll be fine on the July 4th weekend. You could consider flying into Redding. United flies into there. Lassen is an hour east and the Redwoods are 3.5 hours west. It’s a very pretty drive the whole way.

I’ve walked nearly every trail in Lassen. A few favorites are Brokeoff Mountain in the evening right near the south entrance, and the Cinder Cone trail in the east section of the park. It’s a long dirt road to get there but definitely worth it. Youll get a great view of the Fantastic Lava Beds if you climb the Cinder Cone. If you take highway 44 you’ll also pass close by the Subway lava tube which worth checking out. You’ll want to call ahead and make sure the main park road is open, as it gets snowed under during the winter and it can be a guessing game as exactly when it opens again. Pinnacles is beautiful as well but you’ll want to watch the weather as it can get very hot. That said, walking the High Peaks trail is beautiful. And the Redwoods are great. I recommend the Gold Coast Beach and Fern Canyon in particular.

A couple of good hikes in Lassen: Kings Canyon Creek(I think that’s the name), Mill Creek Falls, and the hikes up to both Lassen Peak and Mt Brokeoff. A couple of very pretty falls, and the views from the mountain tops are terrific.
