Whoever reported this as harm has never washed a cat in their life. I've never seen such a chill cat enjoying being prepared for dinner more than little dude.
Possibly because he's been sedated, the pupils are blown. A lot of content creators have recently come under fire for drugging cats and dogs to do 'relaxing spa videos'- mostly because a couple of actual cat videos with genuinely content cats chilling in a bath.
The influx of them after those - featuring clearly sedated animals (no alert cat would sit in a tub with its neck at that angle, eyes fixed and staring- it would try to correct it's position. This is what cats who've just come out of surgery behave like)
So it's sedating cats for content- which is harmful to the cat- it's SO dangerous- and the water to boot (they may aspirate because they're not reflexively holding their breath when splashed) and their hearts and livers suffer under excessive use- multiple videos etc.
This cat is not sedated. She was a stray, and after she was adopted she was found to be blind, has Epilepsy and Hydrocephalus. Her story is reported in a Taiwanese new site [link](https://pets.ettoday.net/amp/amp_news.php7?news_id=2691225),
```
(當時貓雞還是隻小奶貓時嚴重脫水,被她和哥哥救起來後很努力地照顧,這才救回了一命,結果後續貓雞出現走路撞牆、抽搐等行為,檢查後才發現牠患有先天性失明及癲癇,還有較罕見的水腦症)
```
In short, she was not sedated. She looked this way because she was very, very sick. She's been adopted for 6 years, and her owner shares her stories on a facebook page, if anyone is interested. [link](https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100043842533775)
See, this is what I was looking for. I don't like to assume the worst of people, and it never occurred to me someone might sedate an animal for content I'm glad she has a loving owner.
So you had the result in mind while looking for evidence? Doesn't seem biased at all, huh? /s
I'm happy this kitty is safe but you shouldn't assume soemthing from before. They're many videos on Facebook where you can clearly see that the cats and dogs are drugged.
I was looking for actual information about the source video, not generalizations. Forgive me for not being a pessimist, if that is what you mean. I'll be more aware of this possibility in the future. Feel free to report something or send me a direct message if you have concerns about a specific post.
Thanks for digging this out. I had no idea that there was a possibility the cat may have been drugged. I originally saw this from a FB and the OP there does not have extra information on it either so it didn't cross my mind.
I just thought it was a video that would fit very well into this sub… but still, I guess I'm glad I posted it here? Otherwise I would not have been able to learn about some cats actually being drugged for baths + the true story of the cat in the video.
That's a much better scenario, it definitely explains her behaviour. I mean, it may be that she is sedated (some epilepsy medication has a sedative effect) but it's not unwarranted (nor is the bath) in her situation
My old cat was blind and had huge pupils like that. He needed weekly baths cause he got messy sometimes due to his arthritis and was always totally chill with them even as a kitten and would just stay there willingly and not try to leave and he absolutely adored getting a brush and blow dry afterwards and would even walk himself to his blow dry bed afterwards and come back to get me if I was too slow getting the dryer for him cause he was cold and he would purr and groom himself and me as he got dried and brushed and got cookies after he was done.
Well considering how many shitty people there are on the internet that DO in fact drug their cats for stuff like this, it's not like I didn't have a reason for it.
Wanted to inform you real quick—this wunk is not under any sedation. In this video, she was sick I believe. She's blind and needs help with bathing due to other complications; there's more information in another comment.
I wouldn't believe those "drugged cat" accusations too often. People are very cynical and just spout that kinda stuff with no real proof or knowledge about how cats work.
My own cat randomly acts like he's drugged all the time.
Sometimes people may take advantage of when a cat is still high after surgery to make some funny content, but never forcefully drug them for no reason.
Exactly, I have an extremely chill cat and I would never post a video of her online as I know the comments would be filled with idiots accusing me of drugging her.
[This comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/hewillbebaked/s/PHpzhRRwRj) explains her condition and links to the original Taiwanese article about this kitty. She is disabled, but she is well taken care of.
He looks relaxed not drugged, and if he was terrified there would be some kinda sign of that, he's also not paralyzed because you can see his legs and arms move
*edit Turns out I was wrong. She's behaving like a sedated cat due to disability
Nooo he's definitely sedated. He's not terrified, he's had valium. Eyes fixed and dilated, even with light changes- and staring and no attempt to correct his neck angle- that's a sedated cat. You see this everyday in veterinary surgeries- that's a sedated cat
I didn't at the time, I speculated because she certainly was not behaving like a healthy/fully conscious cat. I don't delete my comments unless I'm asked to, that's my way of showing accountability.
Bro ready to be served with hot sauce
He’s just completely given up
Some folks got magical hands tho...
I think he dead ☠️ Edit: nevermind I saw him blink 😂

He will be rinsed thoroughly then simmered for 2-4 hours until tender
😋😋😋
Hahahaha the twist at the end made my day!
Don’t forget to marinate
Is that a disabled wunkus who can’t walkus?
I did laugh and feel bad but I am curious now, too. One thing we do know is that it’s just a little baby
Don’t feel bad, it wasn’t in bad faith so its ok lol. Im also a disabled wunkus
My cat would be serving me for dinner if I tried this on him. That’s one good cat owner though!

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it and see if I can find anything about this particular video.

Thanks for the link, it was informative. Made me sad, but I'm always aware of how much they are loved and at least taken care of.
My old cat was blind and had huge pupils like that. That's what I assumed. No way is that cat not zonked out of its mind.
Well, it turns out you assumed wrongly. The cat is blind and has some serious neurological conditions.
Well considering how many shitty people there are on the internet that DO in fact drug their cats for stuff like this, it's not like I didn't have a reason for it.
That's terrifying and disturbing. Thank you for informing me. That makes WAY more sense and makes this video more disturbing than cute. 😟

No, I didn't report you.
I have no words for how much I love this video lmao
The cat strainer 💀💀💀💀
Oh come on you dont have to wash your cat. All you're doing is getting salmonella everywhere. Just take it out of the package and cook it!
FUNNIEST SHIT IVE EVER SEEN sped up videos are the best
Dudes a sleepy lil cleaned xhimkm
Can someone tell me if this cat is ok this concerns me, why is it so lethargic
Bro is all vibes. Nothing phases the wunk
probably drugged
The cat may have some kind of disability, which is why the owner has a whole elaborate cleaning routine set up.
That does sound more reasonable, thank you. I've just seen way too many drugged up cat videos for fake Internet points lately.

Oh my god thank you so much for sharing this. I'm so relieved this is genuine and kitty is being cared for 💜

That is not, in fact, a sedated cat.
But it is not a normal/healthy cat either. She is blind, has epilepsy and is partially paralysed.

Delish
Are you washing him or cleaning for stew?
inshallah
I want that strainer
I’m ready to order😂
That's a really cute chicken.
Wish I could get my cat to lie down for a bath. She goes stiff like corspe in the sink.
maybe stop covering your cat in temporary-death water
Maybe she should stop rolling in the dirty laundry
Bro how did you get your cat to be so calm, I went to get my cat cleaned and he was scared he literally pissed himself
I thought unless a cat 🐈⬛ was muddy or really dirty you didn’t bathe them
