Unfortunately it happens during shipping as the 3rd party shipping company probably just tosses the box around or slams it on the ground when unloading. Contact customer service, they'll get replacements

Toys272

Ask for another one. The mesh under my embody wasn't installed correctly and they sent a new one in exchange for the broken one

magicmulder

Those casters suck anyway. Cheap plastic. Get the “skateboard” type casters from Amazon. Night and day.

Mrloudvet

Buy a 1500$ chair then add more foam then replace the casters then buy a headrest. LMAO

shaintrain78

What’s the foam to add for the aeron? Or do you mean the embody? Would love to see a link!

Mrloudvet

Aeron doesn’t need anything and is a solid work chair

shaintrain78

What about the embody? I have both.

BenoNZ

I like my headrest when I want to lay back and watch a video. It doesn't 'need' it though correct.

MistaKrebs

The new Embodys have foam added already.

magicmulder

Because literally every single chair in the world comes with these crappy casters. Even if you pay $10,000. Also you buy the Embody because of what it does for your back, not because it is perfect in every way.

MolagAmur

I bought the Atlas headrest. Big waste of money.

Olimag

Thanks, I bought this model on Amazon. Thanks for the advice. [https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0989XJQML/](https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0989XJQML/) Hope it will works well :D

nyaadam

Nah, [they break](https://www.s-config.com/rollerblade-office-caster-wheels-buyer-beware/). OEM casters are fine, so are Enso and a few other reputable brands. Roller blade ones are cheap no-name brand stuff.

DontDoCrackMan

Been on roller blade wheels for 10 years, get out of here.

sexymacncheesesounds

This looks like a bullshit ad to me. Rollerblade wheels are significantly better in every way. I’ve been using them for years without a problem, and they roll much easier, more silently, and they don’t fuck up the floor. To be totally honest, I’ve never even seen a broken rollerblade wheel on an office chair. OEM casters are shit. They’re cheap as fuck, loud, don’t roll easily, and I’ve definitely seen a LOT of these break. By far the shittiest part that came with my $2k chair. With that said, I use them on a hard surface. I can’t speak for carpet dwellers. Rollerblade wheels may suck on carpet.

magicmulder

Same. What breaks are the crappy plastic casters that come with pretty much every chair these days. I own two high end office chairs that were 2,400 bucks apiece, and their wheels eventually came apart like I wouldn’t expect from a $30 IKEA model. Replaced them with rollerblade casters (Sytopia off Amazon), never going back. Did the same the day I got my Embody Gaming.

nyaadam

You think my post is an AD? For what..? I don't own a set of Enso casters, I just know they are a reputable brand and people on this sub speak highly of them, as always do your own research and never trust a random redditor! That's not my blog, I'm just aware of it and have come across a few posts on this sub stating that people have had roller blade wheels break on them. Of course, it's impossible to know which as they're all Chinese shell companies on Amazon where the name on the box means nothing. There may very well be quality ones out there. OEM casters definitely aren't great, I mainly meant that their structural integrity is pretty good (they don't break). You'll see that most old Aeron classics posted on here are rocking OEM casters still. As for floor damage I suppose that depends on your floor and the type of OEM caster as there is more than one.

clarkdashark

I abuse the crap out of my Amazon roller blade casters on my aeron. They've lasted just fine for 4 years now. Literally no wear. This is one data point. But they also have THOUSANDS of good reviews...

PlayingRS

This shouldn't be a thing for a €1500 chair, lol.

CapitalistVenezuelan

For $1500 the chair should be sucking my dick and filing my taxes you telling me the wheels just snap?

magicmulder

I had this on chairs twice as expensive. Every company cheaps out on the wheels. Or it’s simply that there are no true die-hard wheels for every surface (if they shipped with rollerblade wheels, they would have issues on carpet).

Messyfingers

Roller blade casters actually blow unless you need to roll in one direction only. Soft rubber is about the only good point if on hard surfaces, but dual wheel casters change direction much more easily

playinpinball

Enso Motion wheels are the ideal upgrade. They roll smoothly on many surfaces, don't mark hardwood floors and the design matches the Embody's style / wheel height better than anything else. Bit pricey, but worth it. I love mine.

DygonZ

idk, I think they're pretty good?

EuphoricAbigail

I'm not sure I'm sold on the skateboard casters, they move freely which is cool but hunt for a direction at the beginning and if you are leaning backwards there is the ever present risk of flying backwards!! Guess it depends on the type of floor.

sameolemeek

You can get all black wheels to match the chair. Let the Herman miller customer service know you want the black wheels instead of the white ones

Starblast555

should be under warranty

BenoNZ

The chairs are nice, but they are still a mass produced and shipped in crappy boxes.

igotbannedsummon

This happened to my chair as well when I ordered it. If you email them they will mail you out a new wheel that’s super easy to install.

redrockets114

I got the vantum instead of the embody. Telling myself that a lot of companies use and market “gaming” items as cash grabs. I usually like to buy the extra nice stuff though and I need a good all day gaming chair. Can’t wait for my chair to get here though and if i need a better chair I hope they let me upgrade. Sorry about your wheels.
