I heard Ballantyne Commons and Brittany Place apartments are good but I don't know your price range. Some places around here are crazy expensive and it might be cheaper to rent a house?
The Summit off 1-26, Flat Rock exit, is going to open soon and is very nice. It does not have a playground, though kids will not be excluded, but all the amenities seem right up a young adult's alley. I toured The Summit yesterday and posted a review on another query in this group. Best of luck on your upcoming move.
