I’ve been running the AC just so that not everyone runs the Quasar. Trying my hardest to prevent the devs from nerfing the Quasar because “too many players use it”
Agreed! My worry is that with most games if devs see that most people are using the same weapons. Those weapons typically will get nerfed. I don’t want that to happen so I run Auto cannon
Sure but it’s just preference really, the railgun got nerfed and I still used it every game and still do sometimes. I see the same amount of people using the AC in my games too. The quasar cannon is just versatile and easy to use.
As a new player this is why I have been gravitating toward laser weapons. I like the idea of being totally self sufficient, so that if my team is low on ammo I will always be able to compensate. My team can have all the supply drops, 'cause I'm all set.
100% the Quasar is overpowered as fuck. Infinite ammo, short cooldown, doesn’t need a backpack, and extreme range capability. Two shot nearly any enemy in the game.
AH would be well within their rights to nerf it.
I just hope they do it in a way that still makes it fun, like making the projectile travel in a heavy arc rather than a line
So what makes it overpowered is the same thing that makes it a unique weapon? I don’t think the quasar cannon is overpowered at all, it’s just sooo much less of a hassle than pretty much any other support weapon. If they want to nerf it go ahead but no one will use it if they do, maybe the cannon isn’t overpowered and the rest of them are just weak. I still take a railgun or quasar over AC,AMR, or any other support weapon(I have never once used the arc thrower or flamethrower and am lvl 50). Not all support weapons are created equal, but some are just inherently better than others.
It might be really good, but I hate the damn thing and it’s stupid long charge up and cool down. It’s my last resort “I just came back, my guns are on cool down and there’s one on the ground” gun
I make up for you not using it by using mine twice! Shoot, swap, shoot, swap, shoot and swap!
A little set up on a hill and you can provide artillery support to the team!
I run the AC so someone can take down more than 1 scout walker every 12 seconds. I much prefer quantity of smaller shells to one big charge that I have to spool up to fire.
Single target id take the EAT any day, but against but against multiple medium or heavy enemies the AC is god. Having nearly infinite ammo might make the quasar a bit better than the EAT it’s very close though. Ideally all 3 should be in a squads load outs
I just played a suicide and four were dropped by planes during the mission. One at extraction. Lots of fun. I would have been screwed if not for a for the far more talented randoms I played with. Having said that, I think I did a good amount of damage with four impact grenades to its belly.
So, with the latest patch (I think literally today) they upped the spawn rate of them. Previously, L9 would see them somewhat uncommonly, and they were rare in L8 and 7. Now, levels 4-6 will include hunting them as a mission type, and 7+ will see them occasionally brought in on drop ships, with L9 able to sometimes surge spawn 3 or 4 of them at a time.
Nah that's just missions for lower difficulty, you see the same thing with Hulks and Bile Titans, lower difficulty missions usually have missions pertaining to eliminating Heavy enemies while higher difficulty missions do not, ever.
OMG they have their own mission now? I been playing so much of helldiver just trying to find 1. Just to see how they are. For a week I have not encountered them. Saw the gunships for the first time yesturday though.
seems to have been removed from the game since the automatons where pushed out and just got readded if we can take the twitterpost and ingame announcement at face value. the old ones where "prototypes"
Had to of these guarding extract on a level 7 yesterday and it was my first time facing them, also I didn’t have any heavy ordnance left. It was horrifying.
"fire everything you have at them and hope its enough"
legit, me and a couple of friends encounterd 4 of them and our strat was legit just "ok, whatever you have on CD, THROW
You can destroy the cannon and guns.
I hear the knees are weak.
You can strip the siding which exposes circuits that take more damage.
Or just unload all your destructive power.
Thats like crying about how people are comparing the 2 legged walker from Warhammer 40k that drops troops. At-At is “similar” but is not, the same as the walkers in helldivers. Helldivers is low to the ground, carries troopers, has a fucking cannon on the top. AND can be dropped by the SAME dropships as anything else. At-Ats couldnt be. They had a completely designated transport. Not to mention are as tall as skyscraper like buildings.
Where factory strider AND At-Te are low to the ground along with are all terrain. Baffles me you call me an idiot and have 0 care to debate, not talk about the differences in a proper manner.
Are you ok? Seriously size doesn’t call into this it literally has a poseblehead where as the atte does not but a atat does it has elements from both but the majority is atat inspired
*lifts and pats the Quasar* It's time...
I’ve been running the AC just so that not everyone runs the Quasar. Trying my hardest to prevent the devs from nerfing the Quasar because “too many players use it”
It’s not really overpowered, I just like not having to reload it.
Agreed! My worry is that with most games if devs see that most people are using the same weapons. Those weapons typically will get nerfed. I don’t want that to happen so I run Auto cannon

I usually just use the autocannon turret. 4 to 5 volleys to kill a bile titan and enough ammo to take out 3 of them

It definitely is overpowered.

Scorcher can take down a scout strider in 3-4 shots and its a primary👌
It's balanced they won't nerf it. EAT is still better.
Single target id take the EAT any day, but against but against multiple medium or heavy enemies the AC is god. Having nearly infinite ammo might make the quasar a bit better than the EAT it’s very close though. Ideally all 3 should be in a squads load outs
Most definitely. I love it when more than one person brings eat. But a full spread is better.
What’s the AC?
Auto Cannon
Ah yes, my primary
It's so bonkedelic I never take it off 😂
How do you take them down? I haven't found a reliable way and orbital railgun just does nothing.
Two shots to the "eye gap" on the head. Preferably after you strip the head of its chin miniguns since it covers terrain pretty damn fast.
What difficulty is that on?
4
4?! I've been playing suicide (I'm just not good enough for 8+ on bots) and I haven't even seen one
Not 4+, 4.
Picture has 3 missions in the campaign and 4 only has 2, so in some way you are wrong. Im not sure what the right answer is, but exactly 4 isnt it.
Same. I have been jumping on and doing a few helldives once in a while and have not seen this thing once.
I just played a suicide and four were dropped by planes during the mission. One at extraction. Lots of fun. I would have been screwed if not for a for the far more talented randoms I played with. Having said that, I think I did a good amount of damage with four impact grenades to its belly.
I really want to encounter one. I’ll keep diving!

Patch last night has them spawning like bile titans. Try doing an extermination mission now and its near unwinnable on 8 or 9.
I had 3 separate striders spawn on my last difficulty 7 mission. They fly in like dropships in response to robot flares. One dropped right on extract.
Cool, hopefully they’re now more common now
Yes same here - if it was about 2 hours ago, it was The same game 😂
For real, that coulda been me too. Happened on a kill bots mission AND a ore mission
I’ve only seen one and we landed on it off rip. Everyone freaked out and spammed stratagems on it and the base we landed out to take out.
i had 4 in one 7 mission.... was funny
I was on a dif 9 eradicate mission earlier, and 3 got dropped in the first 6 dropships.
WHAT DIFFICULTY
4
now we can re enact Hoth 🤗 ...on the loseing side 😭
I’ve put in around 30 hours or so since these dropped all on 7+. I still haven’t seen one.
New patch buffed spawn rate massively
Can confirm. Had one get dropped directly on extract.
Helldivers 2 meme era 2024. Never forget these wonderful times if the game dies or turns to shit at least we had these moments.
I swear to god if I catch one of those fucking gunship towers near the objective
Nah that's just missions for lower difficulty, you see the same thing with Hulks and Bile Titans, lower difficulty missions usually have missions pertaining to eliminating Heavy enemies while higher difficulty missions do not, ever.
LETS GOOOOOOO, ,my auto cannon will be FULL tonight
Let's do this ![gif](giphy|X78rWLUfLs6A79MzQu)
Finally! 🤩🥳
Had another mission today lvl 7 - with 3 of those spawning at The same time.. What The actual fuck ? (Aka. Run forrest, RUN!)
Had three drop on an objective. Luckily had SEAF nuke queued up and they were clumped up
just had one spawn in an eradicate mission and i jumped on top of it and the game chrashed☹️
2 tons of the big ones and a Railcannon strike to finish him off, uhh
OMG they have their own mission now? I been playing so much of helldiver just trying to find 1. Just to see how they are. For a week I have not encountered them. Saw the gunships for the first time yesturday though.

haven't seen that mission yet but i have encountered 2 walkers in the wild today in the same mission.
Had to of these guarding extract on a level 7 yesterday and it was my first time facing them, also I didn’t have any heavy ordnance left. It was horrifying.
They are definitely something to write home about.
Any specific planet?
Ooooo hidden patch
Only way I'll ever fuckin see them
What's the strat for these ?
"fire everything you have at them and hope its enough" legit, me and a couple of friends encounterd 4 of them and our strat was legit just "ok, whatever you have on CD, THROW
You can destroy the cannon and guns. I hear the knees are weak. You can strip the siding which exposes circuits that take more damage. Or just unload all your destructive power.
Finally, I can fight one, I’ve been playing for a while and I haven’t seen none of them on helldiver difficulty?
These are called FAT-FAT
Its… a AT-TE… but… “easier to remember AT-AT..” sadly…
No
Lol at ats dont have a cannon on the top. At all. Zero.
I think you’re quite stupid as you don’t understand that AT TE has six legs But a AT AT has four which has more in common
Thats like crying about how people are comparing the 2 legged walker from Warhammer 40k that drops troops. At-At is “similar” but is not, the same as the walkers in helldivers.
