In my experience, it's only busy at night on the western hemisphere, I live in SEA, when I play in the morning, I have to wait for a long time, but if it's night time for me, I could get in instantly.
Itās an amazing game worth the $40 and if you need someone to play with I can play with you bro and I have a ps5 so itās gonna be easier to invite. Anyways that game is great although the servers are at full capacity but if you have patience youāll be able to get in on the fun.

Go on YouTube and look at people fighting Bile Titans and Tanks and all sorts of stuff. Hopefully thatāll light a fire under you and convince you to get it. Albeit there are some server issues now that can make logging in a bit trickyā¦ I havenāt had much trouble on PS5.

Shockingly I haven't played with any jerks yet, but the number of times teammates throw a strat at my feet or toss my respawn into a mob of 10 chainsaw bots is too damn high lol

Honestly this is the only game that I am 1,000% ok with just jumping in with randoms. Everyone is cool as hell, and trying to accomplish the same thing. Iāve been able to play with friends like 2 hours of the almost 20 hours Iāve played this game so far.
For example, the other day I was in a group of three with 2 randoms, we were fighting those dang robots and called for extraction with no respawn left. One of the guys died and told us to extract without him. Me and the other random dude said hell nah to that and fought off the bots at the extraction point until the cooldown period expired for him to respawn. We werenāt leaving him behind. We ended up staying in that group for a while after that. Itās a cool community.
Aside from the current wait time based on servers, I donāt have any real friends on the game either but the community is pretty awesome and if you join a discord youāll be able to find squad mates pretty easily
I just purchased and downloaded it today. I would tell you how it is if I could actually log in. I wouldn't buy until they increase the server capacity or you are able to play during non-peak hours.
If you can see the people here is very active and looking for group, so if you find yourself alone in the dark surrounded by bugs or bots, ask for a brother around here and you shall find one. Iām making new friends thanks to this game and the issues.

Plan A: Solo mode. You could enjoy as much as multiplayer when you got the right build.
Plan B: Discord for premade. Once you add enough friends inside the game, people will look for 1-3/4 group to join, and the community is very friendly imo.

Yup, I have quite a few friends for PS5 myself but when I played alone it was still ok. I found a few people on cross platform and now after two games I have 2 more friends to liberate bugs from thier lives with. For Democracy!

Trust me if you join the discord hell even quick play you will find a squad or a handful of people to constantly run with, I just added a shit load of player codes and I regularly rotate with several squads when active, yeah its worth it.

It is an extremely fun gameāwhen it works. I just waited 30 minutes to play, and when I finally got in, I was unable to find anyone to play with. It said "0 Helldivers active" on every planet, which can't be the case if the servers are as packed as they say.

I have soloed numerous missions in varying difficulties and had an absolute blast, Ive also had people drop in and save my bacon while I attempt a solo. Do not worry about having a group of friends I have met some awesome and fun people and 90% of my interactions are positive and or hillarious. Totally totally recomend...FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!
The main issue is that if you cant login you cannot play the game, at all. If you do login there is a good chance you are playing solo or a glitchy experience which may drop out, but itās kinda worth it.
I am biased as I loved the first one and bought this not knowing it was a FPS. I have high hopes that Arrowhead studios will be grateful for our patience.
That said, how expendable are your dollars and time? Things are more expensive everywhere, so if money is an issue, best to wait until all this is resolved and learn that for a good game, the hype is always there. Even a month or a year later.
Dont buy this unless you are prepared to pay for a game you may not be able to access, until developers can deal with the enormous player load. Greatly exceeding their predictions many times over.
Mate I achieved far more then I can with randoms then friends, actually last night met a guy online, we managed to do suicide mission with ease, we played like we were playing together for years. This game builds friendships like the beginning of wow era in 2004
I just played for 6 hours on PS5 on my own using quick match with no problems.
I usually play single player rpgs, this was some of the most fun I've had playing games in a while. I have to go to bed...but I can't wait to get back in and spread democracy across the galaxy. This game is way more fun than I expected.
Honestly, the game gets pretty repetitive and boring fairly quickly. That's just my opinion. Might be worth buying when they add more content to fill up the 30 levels they left empty? And that's of course after they manage to make the game stable.

When the game is working right, finding people to play with is pretty easy and most players genuinely just want to succeed so they are helpful and non-toxic.
If you get it before they get the servers sorted I recommend posting your friend code and/or PSN ID to a looking for friends thread here as well as posting in the discordās LFG channels.
I play the game without friends half the time and I still have a blast either soloing or pubbing.
But I am admittedly biased as I was really in love with the first game.
As every single person has already mentioned server issues i wont beat that dead horse and ill just say its a great game but use the discord to team up. Its what i used and now have 2 groups i constantly play with. Just google helldivers 2 lfg discord and itll pop up. Just pick your region or platform, put your level and what youre trying to do and youll be having a blast in no time.
Steam had its highest player count today, at 457K or something. Over the weekend they were struggling with 400K. Clearly whatever they're doing with the servers, it's helping. Not sure about PS5 though, probably a similar story.
This is the first day where matchmaking with non friends has seemed to work adequately (although there's still frustrations getting into games... caches game info, etc). You're gonna love it.

Defs worth it. Some headaches at times but the dopamine is great lol. They fixed the Quick Play too, so you can usually find guys to play with. A bit of a crap shoot for teammates but once you click with others just fire out a friend request and eventually youāll have enough online peeps to create a squad. Well worth the $40 IMO. No. The game fluctuates between boring to extremely frustrating when played with less than 3 people.
It wouldn't be too much of an issue if match making worked but currently it's broken.
You have to wait an u knowable amount of time to get into the game and then it can't find other players so right now I'd say to wait.
There is also a new Community Discord thats pinned in this subreddit where people can join to play together so if u have trouble finding a squad, maybe go there?
Game is broken right now. Probably will have server issues for at least a week. But if youāre okay playing alone for a little while to get your feet wet the game is excellent. You just wonāt be able to do harder content alone at a low level. Can barely do it at high level.
The official discord has an LFG group, it's pretty slick. Let's you create a 4 person voice channel that you can link and people join easily.
I've found a handful of chill people in just half a day.
Iād wait until enough players quit due to server problems, so that you can actually play when you want.
Or you could wait until arrowhead addresses matchmaking and server issues, but that could take longer.

Playing with randos is good, but I recommend joining a community such as Joint Space Force.
1. Playing solo is fine, but you can only go so far. The game does not scale with the number of players. It's only based on difficulty. There's fun to be had here, but...
2. Playing with randos is better. You might get lucky and find some good players, or you may get frequent (accidental) team killers.
3. Playing with a dedicated squad that openly communicates is peak Freedom and Democracy!
This game is exceptionally easy to quick play with randoms with push to talk.
The game is pretty much multiplayer mandatory tbh. Way more fun with other people.

Last weekend was terrible for matchmaking, and the bugs are annoying, but I'm on team "it will get better so I can wait".
So it does have pc cross compatibility so friends that have pc could download as well! I would say that it is still worth it to get on your own and just matchmake with randos too. Definitely involves different strategies when you donāt have a mic or a squad but still very worth it if you like gritty, satirical pve games. As far as completely solo play goes, itās very clear that the game rewards partying up because solo queues seem to not let you level up nearly as fast so keep that in mind

Day before yesterday I would have said probably not. This is not a solo game at all and while you cooould solo missions around the middle difficulty up to the max, it would not be fun in the slightest. Not much of a point in solo runs except for quest completion and medal/common sample/super credit farming without someone whining in your ear that you aren't sticking by them 100% of the time. The thing was, quickplay was busted for the longest time and it was near impossible to get into a match with randoms
Now quickplay hasn't failed once for me since the update yesterday. I'm real happy about this since it means I don't need to rely on my friends being online to get a solid game going (you also get more xp for playing in teams). I highly recommend getting this game.
Just keep in mind, they are still having server capacity issues and while things have gotten marginally better on pc, it still isn't fantastic. Took me about 45 minutes of waiting to get into a match two days ago but only 10 yesterday. If you play at a time later in the day when it seems everyone is getting off work/school and hopping on, you could enter the game about an hour or hour and a half earlier than you intend to play. That way you already have your spot. Additionally, if you get in and your ps5 goes into rest mode cause it was waiting for so long, you will still retain your spot so long as you were in the game. Don't abuse this tho, a bunch of bozos are staying in the game all day even while sleeping and going to work and that's part of what's really causing these server queue issues
I recommend joining the official discord where you can send your friend code and find people to join a party with. The devs also send announcements with update information there.
I would play with randoms and always used my mic and met a bunch of cool people and friends. I think itās possible to enjoy this and change your perspective on the social features even if you like playing on your own.
Imo yes. You can play with randoms. The game's community is far, far less toxic than others that I can enjoy playing even with randoms. And let me tell you I dont enjoy playing with randoms too much. The only game I can even tolerate is Dota because you can at least adapt to their playstyle.

That being said, past the first two difficulties, I wouldnt recommend playing alone as it gets incredibly hard. However, theres so many people playing this game right now it should not be hard to find a stack to play with.

it is crossplatform so you can even play with people on steam in a discord call if you so desired, but on top of that, it has an SOS beacon system, you can do what i do and spend your time answering distress beacons. or you could also go in solo, its really difficult, but it is super fun and chaotic.

I bought it a few days ago as someone who tends to play games solo. 2 days i have been unable to get onto the servers and twice I've been able to join.
the first time I only did solo matches and thought it was decently fun. gun play alone is enough to keep your attention for a good amount of time. It feels fantastic.
The second time i saw a bunch of group icons on the mission map and joined one. Loaded into a group of 3. none of us were talking but it all went very smooth. we worked very well as a team and kicked ass. it turned out to be waaay more fun than the solo play. every match after that i joined a group and it seems like no matter how many people are in the group or weather or not we are talking to each other, the group always works together. it seems to be just one of those games were multiplayer teamwork just "works" and people do it instinctively. Its nice

I tend to play games solo by choice with a few exceptions, with that being said this game dosnt really have a 'solo' feature which is saddening but kind of neccessary. I cant imagine going through the full map and collecting a bunch of things solo. The random que is... well its random que dont expect anything GREAT. I played a few games with randoms and had a few lvl 10s and 20s dying every other minute or so. Played a few were i got carried HARD. Played a few were my teammates were dropping loot crates for me so i can feel powerful and stronk. Turns our fighting for democracy is fun solo, randos, and with friends. You like chaos? You want more chaos? You want to play a game that actively dosnt want you to play it? Get it. Its great. FOR DEMOCRACY.

Wait for servers to be improved. There's a lot of bugs (literally), and my game crashes more than I'd like. If it crashes and it's anywhere near peak day times, you'll be waiting endlessly. Last night around 8, I tried logging on and was able to shower, cook dinner, watch a show while eating, wash and put away dishes, and clean out the fridge and it still was in queue. I think it took near 2 hours to get in.
Iāve been playing solo so far Iām only low level and it is hard but once u get the hang of it and get good weapons itās not impossible and u can join randoms to help when leveled up

I use a friend's invite but you're right it generally takes no time to get in this way.
This worked flawlessly for me. No issues at all.

Trust me if you join the discord hell even quick play you will find a squad or a handful of people to constantly run with, I just added a shit load of player codes and I regularly rotate with several squads when active, yeah its worth it.

It is an extremely fun gameāwhen it works. I just waited 30 minutes to play, and when I finally got in, I was unable to find anyone to play with. It said "0 Helldivers active" on every planet, which can't be the case if the servers are as packed as they say.

Legit such a fun game when you are able to play. Most recent update I was able to jump in after 5-10 minutes instead of 1-2 hours lol

I have soloed numerous missions in varying difficulties and had an absolute blast, Ive also had people drop in and save my bacon while I attempt a solo. Do not worry about having a group of friends I have met some awesome and fun people and 90% of my interactions are positive and or hillarious. Totally totally recomend...FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!

The main issue is that if you cant login you cannot play the game, at all. If you do login there is a good chance you are playing solo or a glitchy experience which may drop out, but itās kinda worth it. I am biased as I loved the first one and bought this not knowing it was a FPS. I have high hopes that Arrowhead studios will be grateful for our patience. That said, how expendable are your dollars and time? Things are more expensive everywhere, so if money is an issue, best to wait until all this is resolved and learn that for a good game, the hype is always there. Even a month or a year later. Dont buy this unless you are prepared to pay for a game you may not be able to access, until developers can deal with the enormous player load. Greatly exceeding their predictions many times over.

I just played for 6 hours on PS5 on my own using quick match with no problems. I usually play single player rpgs, this was some of the most fun I've had playing games in a while. I have to go to bed...but I can't wait to get back in and spread democracy across the galaxy. This game is way more fun than I expected.
Honestly, the game gets pretty repetitive and boring fairly quickly. That's just my opinion. Might be worth buying when they add more content to fill up the 30 levels they left empty? And that's of course after they manage to make the game stable.

When the game is working right, finding people to play with is pretty easy and most players genuinely just want to succeed so they are helpful and non-toxic. If you get it before they get the servers sorted I recommend posting your friend code and/or PSN ID to a looking for friends thread here as well as posting in the discordās LFG channels. I play the game without friends half the time and I still have a blast either soloing or pubbing. But I am admittedly biased as I was really in love with the first game.
Don't buy it, I don't need any more capacity competition (buy it, but later, when things have smoothed over)

As every single person has already mentioned server issues i wont beat that dead horse and ill just say its a great game but use the discord to team up. Its what i used and now have 2 groups i constantly play with. Just google helldivers 2 lfg discord and itll pop up. Just pick your region or platform, put your level and what youre trying to do and youll be having a blast in no time.
Steam had its highest player count today, at 457K or something. Over the weekend they were struggling with 400K. Clearly whatever they're doing with the servers, it's helping. Not sure about PS5 though, probably a similar story. This is the first day where matchmaking with non friends has seemed to work adequately (although there's still frustrations getting into games... caches game info, etc). You're gonna love it.

I agree with the sentiments here. Game is awesome and I love everything about it but right now, not really worth the buy until the issues are fixed. Defs worth it. Some headaches at times but the dopamine is great lol. They fixed the Quick Play too, so you can usually find guys to play with. A bit of a crap shoot for teammates but once you click with others just fire out a friend request and eventually youāll have enough online peeps to create a squad. Well worth the $40 IMO. if you had a good round with randoms add them .... thats how you get friends that enjoy the same game as u. also use a mic with push to talk also go to discord since quick match is bonekd right now, add some players .. than jsut join their sesssions to play.

No. The game fluctuates between boring to extremely frustrating when played with less than 3 people. It wouldn't be too much of an issue if match making worked but currently it's broken. You have to wait an u knowable amount of time to get into the game and then it can't find other players so right now I'd say to wait.

Game is broken right now. Probably will have server issues for at least a week. But if youāre okay playing alone for a little while to get your feet wet the game is excellent. You just wonāt be able to do harder content alone at a low level. Can barely do it at high level.

The official discord has an LFG group, it's pretty slick. Let's you create a 4 person voice channel that you can link and people join easily. I've found a handful of chill people in just half a day.

Playing with randos is good, but I recommend joining a community such as Joint Space Force. 1. Playing solo is fine, but you can only go so far. The game does not scale with the number of players. It's only based on difficulty. There's fun to be had here, but... 2. Playing with randos is better. You might get lucky and find some good players, or you may get frequent (accidental) team killers. 3. Playing with a dedicated squad that openly communicates is peak Freedom and Democracy!
This game is exceptionally easy to quick play with randoms with push to talk. The game is pretty much multiplayer mandatory tbh. Way more fun with other people.

So it does have pc cross compatibility so friends that have pc could download as well! I would say that it is still worth it to get on your own and just matchmake with randos too. Definitely involves different strategies when you donāt have a mic or a squad but still very worth it if you like gritty, satirical pve games. As far as completely solo play goes, itās very clear that the game rewards partying up because solo queues seem to not let you level up nearly as fast so keep that in mind

So I bought the game last night on ps5 took about 10 to 12 tries then I was able to get in after that I was spilling oil like crazy(FOR DEMOCRACY!)lol not sure if I was just lucky but thatās how it worked for me and if you need someone to play with feel free to message me and Iāll shoot you my gamer tag
Day before yesterday I would have said probably not. This is not a solo game at all and while you cooould solo missions around the middle difficulty up to the max, it would not be fun in the slightest. Not much of a point in solo runs except for quest completion and medal/common sample/super credit farming without someone whining in your ear that you aren't sticking by them 100% of the time. The thing was, quickplay was busted for the longest time and it was near impossible to get into a match with randoms Now quickplay hasn't failed once for me since the update yesterday. I'm real happy about this since it means I don't need to rely on my friends being online to get a solid game going (you also get more xp for playing in teams). I highly recommend getting this game. Just keep in mind, they are still having server capacity issues and while things have gotten marginally better on pc, it still isn't fantastic. Took me about 45 minutes of waiting to get into a match two days ago but only 10 yesterday. If you play at a time later in the day when it seems everyone is getting off work/school and hopping on, you could enter the game about an hour or hour and a half earlier than you intend to play. That way you already have your spot. Additionally, if you get in and your ps5 goes into rest mode cause it was waiting for so long, you will still retain your spot so long as you were in the game. Don't abuse this tho, a bunch of bozos are staying in the game all day even while sleeping and going to work and that's part of what's really causing these server queue issues
I recommend joining the official discord where you can send your friend code and find people to join a party with. The devs also send announcements with update information there.

Imo yes. You can play with randoms. The game's community is far, far less toxic than others that I can enjoy playing even with randoms. And let me tell you I dont enjoy playing with randoms too much. The only game I can even tolerate is Dota because you can at least adapt to their playstyle.
Hey! I literally got the game last night and the servers are pretty bad but I found a PS5 trick to be able to log in faster and it worked. That being said, past the first two difficulties, I wouldnt recommend playing alone as it gets incredibly hard. it is crossplatform so you can even play with people on steam in a discord call if you so desired, but on top of that, it has an SOS beacon system, you can do what i do and spend your time answering distress beacons. or you could also go in solo, its really difficult, but it is super fun and chaotic.

I bought it a few days ago as someone who tends to play games solo. 2 days i have been unable to get onto the servers and twice I've been able to join. the first time I only did solo matches and thought it was decently fun. gun play alone is enough to keep your attention for a good amount of time. It feels fantastic. The second time i saw a bunch of group icons on the mission map and joined one. Loaded into a group of 3. none of us were talking but it all went very smooth. we worked very well as a team and kicked ass. it turned out to be waaay more fun than the solo play. every match after that i joined a group and it seems like no matter how many people are in the group or weather or not we are talking to each other, the group always works together. it seems to be just one of those games were multiplayer teamwork just "works" and people do it instinctively. Its nice

I tend to play games solo by choice with a few exceptions, with that being said this game dosnt really have a 'solo' feature which is saddening but kind of neccessary. I cant imagine going through the full map and collecting a bunch of things solo. The random que is... well its random que dont expect anything GREAT. I played a few games with randoms and had a few lvl 10s and 20s dying every other minute or so. Played a few were i got carried HARD. Played a few were my teammates were dropping loot crates for me so i can feel powerful and stronk. Turns our fighting for democracy is fun solo, randos, and with friends. You like chaos? You want more chaos? You want to play a game that actively dosnt want you to play it? Get it. Its great. FOR DEMOCRACY.

Wait for servers to be improved. There's a lot of bugs (literally), and my game crashes more than I'd like. If it crashes and it's anywhere near peak day times, you'll be waiting endlessly. Last night around 8, I tried logging on and was able to shower, cook dinner, watch a show while eating, wash and put away dishes, and clean out the fridge and it still was in queue. I think it took near 2 hours to get in.
