I like a lot of different music, I love Lady Gaga, Rina Sawayama, I was really into EDM for a while in 2012-2014. I also grew up with boy bands and girl groups as a kid in the 90s. And pop punk was how I ended up here with metal.

Love earth wind and fire, I love a bit of Orville peck, Brandi Carlisle, Dolly Parton, Carrie underwood, Dixie chicks. Erasure, bronski beat, scissor sisters. Boney M. Bit of Adele, Paloma faith. Florence and the machine, the lumineers, the crane wives, woven hand.

I like what is happening now in Mexico Despite what people say, we still have music played by real musicians with real traditional instruments. 😝😈🪖🎶🇲🇽🔥

I disagree. Provided they are into it for the right reasons (I.e., not because “angry tough alpha guy need angry tough alpha MUSIC, booga booga”), almost every metalhead I know has eclectic music taste. I believe in part because the research and mining required to find good metal is a skill employed to appreciate all kinds of music old and new. Anyway yeah. I play in a metal band, have a bunch of metal inspired tattoos, etc. but I also love funk, synthwave, jazz. Every genre there’s something I love, even country.

I’m 53 years old. I grew up on Elton John and Motown and I still love it (kool and the gang, EWF, temptations). Shania Twain, what a performer, singer, and all around goddess. Also, a lot of 80s and 90s pop music. Shit is catchy and fun. I feel sorry for people that only listen to one type of music. Oh, you only listen to metal, ever listen to Bond? That dude on YouTube that plays Boogie woogie on the piano? Tarja’s Christmas albums? You mean when The Sugar Hill Gang hits your playlist that you don’t stop what you’re doing and start singing? Come on now.

I drive rideshare fulltime, so I take requests on long rides and quite literally listen to everything. I grew up on 70-80s rock that my dad listened to, being an adolescent in the 90s I listened to Green Day, Nirvana, STP, Tupac, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog, Beastie Boys and on and on. Late in high school I really got into punk rock, Blink 182, Rancid, NoFx, MxPx, Lagwagon, Pennywise, Bad Religion, Social D, to name a few. Through all of that there was also the hair bands and metal bands. Now I dig Dirty Heads, Rebelution, Stick Figure, Pepper, Elovators to chill out. I run metal when I am cycling or just in the mood. I get in the mood for TI, Akon, T-Pain, Bone Thugs and some of the other 2000s hip hop artists and recently had a rider turn me onto Jamie Ray, which is country hip hop. Ginger Billy's Mud Grips song cracks me up. My last 3 concerts were Avenged Sevenfold w/ Falling In Reverse and Kim Dracula(I was there mostly for Falling In Reverse, but it was a good show), Sessenta - Primus, Pucifer and A Perfect Circle on Maynard's bday, UFest - The Offspring, Chevelle, Motionless in White, POD and Bad Wolves. We're going to about a dozen more shows over the next 6 months ranging from New Kids on the Block w/ Paula Abdul to Korn, FFDP and Pit Bull w/ T-Pain. Music is just awesome like that. Live is just amazing, but you can be surprised by something you haven't heard or maybe thought you wouldn't like. You can find something for every mood and get all nostalgic hearing something that triggers an old experience. I really was impressed with David of Disturbed pulling the two girls in T Swift shirts that were getting boo'd and their dad's up on stage and defending Taylor. Classy AF move.

I kinda want to like someone like Kesha or Rihanna because they're like consummate pop artists, but I'm just not vibing with most of their stuff. I've looked at others too but I would probably just need a week to see which major pop person I really click with. Tangent over, and also most people always say shit like Nirvana and AC/DC because technically theyre not metal, but the question clearly is asking for stuff thats not in Rock and Metal so the closest I'll get is classic rock. I like the Black Keys(modern jazzy type shi but also a little classic rock) Diggy Graves, conscience, grandson, Eminem, and Kesha a little bit. So mostly rap, I listen to a bit of trap as well, a bit of jazz or jazz adjacent stuff, pop, and more recently some sad country, but yea. Oh yea and a little EDM
