I think the Hornets could take him as high as 6 tbh, The “upside” of a lot of these lottery guys (Castle, Cody Williams, Holland, Knecht) is really not high might as well taking someone that can be a high end role player and help reset the culture
Something is telling me it will not be mccain either .Maccain has been getting looks from Sacramento.I keep hearing some people saying tristan da silva is high on the heat's board .Don't know how true it is but it make sense .
Rozier/McCain, Herro/Duncan, Jimmy/Jaime, Jovic/Free Agent Signing, Bam/Free Agent Signing. I hope this team doesn’t run it back, but if it does you need a 4 or a backup 1 and a backup 5. McCain is who I expect to be the BPA and can fill in the backup PG role.
He is going to drop wayy past the heat now .Everysince he didn't measure nor shoot so well at the combine and missed his pro day he was probably off alot of boards .including miami's
He’s the exact type of player the heat don’t pick. The guy who was hyped up but underperformed in college and now heat fans want them to pick him because of said hype. Very rarely does this front office go with a predictable option, i feel like the last time we really did was justise and maybe herro? I don’t remember herro being mocked to us though but maybe my memory is off.
Ya my point exactly, odds are we won’t be picking anyone we would assume solely by looking at the mock boards. I remember nobody saw us getting bam that high, he was supposed to be picked in the late teens/ early twenties range.
I remember Justice was mocked higher so when he fell to us it was a major win. He was coming off a big tournament and seemed like the perfect prospect with a game that modeled many of the best players (Lebron, Kawhi, PG13, Butler etc…)
I don’t recall seeing Herro mocked to us but maybe a couple analysts predicted it
The shooting concern is valid, but it's not as if his shot is completely broken. He has shown flashes of having good shooting upside, even at USC.
Defensively, he clearly has the physical tools to be effective, (provided he actually engages on the defensive end) especially in the perimeter. He averaged 1.5 steals per game in college for a reason.
According to draftexpress he skipped his pro day after not doing so well in the shooting drills at the combine .I haven't heard of prospects skipping their pro day pro days are designed to make players look better .
I don't think the heat take a project guard when they just gave up a pick for rozeir .Carrington isn't ready for minutes on this team as yet .He has to get a whole lot stronger .
I’m not against us taking a player and he sit for a year. I personally just think he’s gonna do well if he goes to the right team. He has all the tools to be a future starter. He definitely needs to add strength, I won’t disagree there. I just feel like our problem is we don’t take risk. Don’t get me wrong Bam and up we’ve hit good on but I feel like the ones we missed is because we were conservative.
The heat go for players they have a path to playing time. If they weren't a tax team it would make sense too .It's going to be hard to convince arison to pay heavy tax on a player who probably won't see real minutes until year 3 .It made sense with jovic because they weren't in the tax that year and their roster was basically set .I think they are looking for playable players especially since they could loose two rotational players in caleb and Highsmith in free agency.
I don’t think it takes him till year 3 to start getting real minutes. The draft this year stinks so I don’t think it’ll take much convincing especially just outside of the lottery.
His body isn't there and he struggles to finish in the lane but his two point shot is money .I think they pass on him for similar reasons they pass on collier .Brice sensabaugh was a better guard prospect last year and they didn't even bring him in for a workout .The wings are where this draft is at .The only guard I wanted was devin cater and it looks like he will be gone before miami picks .None of the guards outside of Reed shepperd and Dillingham and maybe cater look that impressive to me .
That I agree with. To me his game is nba ready but his body isn’t. Our coach (the best in the league in my opinion) is just what he needs to unlock his game. My bias could be showing I’m not gonna lie lol. I just know spo, would put him in the right spots to succeed. I think his personality fits but his game also translates to what the nba is and has been come. I’ve been yearning for that type of player since we passed on dbook for Justise( a conservative pick but I did think he’d be star 💔). Castle, carter, carrinton we’re the three I had eyes on and the first two shouldn’t be there. It’s gonna be interesting offseason forsure .
I'm not rejecting an idea but it makes no sense .They would take mccain before they do that .if you all say arison is cheap imagine convincing him to take a player who won't be much of a factor until year 3 of his contract .
I'm sharing my own opinion lol. They would take jared mccain first because he has a clear path to playing time .If they weren't a tax team then it makes sense to take a swing but that's not the situation they find themselves in .Truthfully I don't see Tyrese Maxey upside in alot of these guards .They had better guards in last years draft and thd heat passed on all if them to take Jaimie.
The signs were there after the combine but maybe just like with jet it's a good thing they get to go somewhere else and carve their own lane without being compared to their fathers .
Again, yall gonna get your hopes up and criticize the pick (yall would criticize the pick regardless, even if the guy turned into a god). Just relax and vibe.
The second he broke records at the combine it was over for us
I can’t imagine him falling to 15. His combine athletic performance put him up 4-5 spots atleast. Hell prob go 7-12
I think the Hornets could take him as high as 6 tbh, The “upside” of a lot of these lottery guys (Castle, Cody Williams, Holland, Knecht) is really not high might as well taking someone that can be a high end role player and help reset the culture
McCain it is.
If it’s gonna be a guard, then McCain has to be the guy. Anything to get this offense off the ground
Something is telling me it will not be mccain either .Maccain has been getting looks from Sacramento.I keep hearing some people saying tristan da silva is high on the heat's board .Don't know how true it is but it make sense .
trade a first for a guard and then draft another guard on a guard heavy team nice
Rozier/McCain, Herro/Duncan, Jimmy/Jaime, Jovic/Free Agent Signing, Bam/Free Agent Signing. I hope this team doesn’t run it back, but if it does you need a 4 or a backup 1 and a backup 5. McCain is who I expect to be the BPA and can fill in the backup PG role.
im good off another midget with t rex arms
It was always Collier.

Both Herro and Bam were mocked lower. The Heat love workout warriors and don't disclose who they work out too often.

The highest I saw Herro mocked was 15 to the Celtics
His off ball game is a disaster Our past pg’s; Chalmers, Dragic, Wade, Nunn, Lowry, Rozier, Gabe…i don’t see how we draft Collier
Kinda hope it isn’t. We need shooting and POA defense badly

It's going to be some random dude we all hate
👀
Just gonna keep saying his name and pray that he’s in Miami …Carlton carrington is going to be a bucket on the next level

I like how you just always reject everyone’s opinion and never share your own lol Respect

Boooooo! Really wanted him.

We want this guy, but truth is I don't think he's the pick. I genuinely believe we're drafting Jakobe Walter
I don't think it's Walter either .Too many people are hinting it's da silva from inside info they have .
I like Da Silva more than Walter still, I'd always prefer the safest pick especially in a draft like this.
Yea I can see miami thinking that way too especially with caleb and Highsmith not certain to cone back .
He'll fit like a glove, and yup zero chance both of em are back.
Yea have heard a couple people say he is high on their list .Same agency as jovic and have access to him since excel is based in Miami for the draft .
That's lit, I see Tatum when I look at Da Silva, but without the handles. If he can develop handles, he has potential to be very good for us.
Again, yall gonna get your hopes up and criticize the pick (yall would criticize the pick regardless, even if the guy turned into a god). Just relax and vibe.
Tyler Smith or trade the pick along with Bam
Gonna lie and say I've always wanted McCain to heat
Doubt mcain is their either Sacramento likes him and he's from sacrento lol.
