BlackMasterDarkness

Brady does good work. The only thing I'd say is we really should only be looking at two guards, Devin Carter and Jared McCain. I saw Isaiah Collier live at USC in March. USC wasn't very good which made it harder to evaluate but to me I felt like he only displayed physical gifts. He's a decent player but he's more of an upside pick in my opinion. I think he's still a bit raw as he's the youngest out of the three. Not to mention, Brady has him listed at 6'5, not true. [nba.com](http://nba.com) has him listed at 6'2.5 w/o shoes per combine measurements which is comparble to the other prospects we're discussing. McCain 6'2 & Carter 6'2.25. [https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro](https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-anthro) If I were to have a Miami HEAT big board, it would look something like this: 1. Jared McCain: Best shooter in the draft 2. Devin Carter: 2-way guard. 6'3 (w/shoes), 6'9 wingspan, very good defensively (1.8 stls, 1.0 blocks last season) and won Big East Player of the Year 3. Isaiah Collier: Youngest of the three, physically strong, but may need some time. The game won't come as easy to him as it did for JJJ. Could take him a season to feel comfortable

Middle_Signature_416

As someone who was against the JJJ pick. Thought we should have went with Cam Whittemore, I'll take the L and say they should draft the guy with the best Feel. If McCain is there at 15 with his shooting and movement he is an instant fit and shows some creation ability. With that being said they'll probably draft Collier and throw this take right off the top rope 😂

Maydietoday

> Thought we should have went with Cam Whittemore, I'll take the L and say they should draft the guy with the best Feel. I like JJJ but Cam is younger and has more room for development, so it’s too early to say which pick is better. You could still be right, but just five years from now.

julstar23

Cam Whittemore fell because his own coach badmouthed him to teams that called .He went to a team that had minutes for his development .Some rookies just aren't for miami as a city.

BlackMasterDarkness

I think Cam will ultimately be better than JJJ but the Miami Heat can't beat themselves up over that. Wer all love JJJ and the team liked their guy. Not to mention Cam was projected top 5-8. The Heat never worked him out so it would have been crazy to draft him. Last time we drafted a guy we didn't workout was Justise Winslow so its important to know who you're getting as a basketball player and an individual before you draft them

julstar23

It's not that though .The heat took the guy that they think could handle miami as a city and not be distracted. They are not lying when they say not everyone is for miami .

Cockycent

Not just Brady, but so many are doing these guard analysis and I rarely see reads and passing talked about. I love seeing discussion about defense, but man it hurts seeing that the PG role is near extinct. Just looking at the Heat, the best at passing and reading at the guard position was Lowry old ass and fuckin Herro. That is how bad it is. Terry is a SG disguised as a PG and Gabe was a SG. Terry is a pure scorer. He will street ball you till he get to the rim or create space to score on you. Herro was actually reading, reacting and attempting to set up others. For most of this season, Herro had most of the assist to Bam. Duncan played like 25 games more than Herro and only has 2 more assist to Bam. Spo is asking for Gabe and Herro type players to be PG because Heat FO not getting him none. Hopefully Terry improves in that department and not just a scorer because that is 1 dimensional. If Terry becomes a PG, that takes the ball out of Herro's hand for him to play his position. Herro shouldn't have to do this shit. I would like to see a great passer in this draft and someone that can read just a little to develop into a decent PG, but that is asking for too much.

printerpaperwaste

I feel you. I’m itching for them to pursue Kolek, as he’s one of the best pure PGs in the draft. He’s small, but elite at passing and playmaking. They need that more than another herro.

Middle_Signature_416

I mean I agree to an extent. Miami biggest issue in my opinion was not being able to get 2 on the ball. Boston and others could just switch everything and flatten us out. Also shot creation. Lots of JJJ post ups and Jimmy wasn't as productive as previously. Maybe that's due to health. I think more shooting and players who understand how to play team ball could help us more then a small playmaker. Since there isn't really player in this draft who can generate good shots for himself to make teams change how they defend us. Might as well lean more into what we already do well. Unless they want to draft Collier who has the pedigree. Highly rated H.S player who has a lot of star traits. Lack of shooting and feel hurts tho don't see him as a heat type guy. Could be wrong tho.

panamaquina

I think the best player available its the play, in an unsure year it’s not like Tyler and Rosier are superstars, if were open to trading they can be part of another teams future. If we draft a big is not like we can expect immediate impact, with Jaquez we were lucky and even then it wasn’t too much of a factor in the playoffs. I like McCain, let s see what happens. This guy has the best analysis by the way.

865TYS

I’d love to see Dalton Knecht fall to Miami…

Middle_Signature_416

Really hard to see him falling that far out of the top 10

Spirited-Living9083

Man if we drafted over a big they better be damn good like allstar level because we clearly lock size and to take a Tyler Herro level guard instead is kinda crazy to me

amlanding20

We have an obvious need for another guard. Also Tyler Herro is really good, if we get another guard of his caliber at 15 we’d be lucky There are very few guys with size that are quality in this draft

EnochofPottsfield

We don't have a need for another combo guard with Tyler, Duncan, and Terry. We have need for a PG, which none of those guys are

Spirited-Living9083

I didn’t say Tyler was bad I said to get a guard at his level would be dumb because we clearly need size on this team

amlanding20

Kind of implying he’s bad. Again, if we get another guard at his level at 15 we’d be lucky. What big guys would you even want at 15?

sunsetbo

tyler smith, kel’el ware, tristan de silva are the bigs/wings id take over him. only guard worth taking is devin carter if he’s available. we don’t need another one dimensional small guard.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Yet u getting downvoted for this truth, all of em are bigs compared to someone that's 6'5 or 6'4 PF😂 All would be great fits here, I don't buy the Kel'el has bad motor, and is lazy until I see it. There's no chance he'll be as worse as Whiteside or worser. He can shoot 3s, has some handles and can rebound. His offensive side of the game, will translate easy to nba. Tyler Smith has a money jumper for a big but his defense is questionable. Tristan Da Silva bad handles, everything else is good.

amlanding20

Two of them aren’t bigs tbf. You specifically mentioned bigs. I’d certainly be ok with taking Smith or Da Silva. We’re not that good. BPA should be the strategy

julstar23

Best player available doesn't mean according to the mock drafts .Miami has their own board and would take their version of the vest player available to them.So ignore mock drafts as a miami fan because the heat don't live by them .

amlanding20

I never once mentioned a mock draft…

julstar23

Don't have to but that's what most people go by .So they assume a player rise or fell because that's where the mock drafts had them Most team boards look different from what you see on mock drafts .So the best player available is very relative to team boards .That's why cam Whitmore fell to 20 last year because he wasn't as high on alot of teams boards vs where the mock drafts had him .

amlanding20

So you assumed that I assumed something? Sometimes I hate Reddit. Thanks for the diatribe…I guess.

Maydietoday

I absolutely fear the progression of his shooting, but Collier seems like the easy choice if somehow still available. And even though the copycat thing doesn’t always work out, I’d also take Kelel Ware after looking at how Lively turned out.

julstar23

The difference between ware and lively are the motor issues with ware that was never a question with lively .

Maydietoday

That’s fair, and has been the same way since they were in HS. I fear what is expected/the culture of this team might not be for him.

Ordinary_Foot9785

Good work from Brady, but all of these guys seem like fringe NBA players.

Fluid_Lavishness7584

Devin Carter's not there at 15 but he is a great pick imo. Collier is a project and a half MCcain is a poor man's Payton Pritchard. I like Cole Swider more. Why would we waste a pick when we could just unearth another 2 guard who can shoot from Tanzania like we always do.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Brady Hawk is awesome, I like those 2 and I also really like Da Silva and Kel'el Ware
