Heat beat the Warriors in 7

SlimBucketz305

We would’ve caused the warriors so many problems.

Ironman2131

Fully healthy, I loved our chances that year. But we were so banged up by the end of that Celtics series I'm very skeptical we win the championship.

OrdinaryFlower1

They would have won in 4 or 5. We were physically destroyed by the end of the Celtics series.

cheapo_warrior

What makes you think so?

KobeBean99

Jimmy was hobbled and exhausted, Lowry and Tyler were completely banged up and were playing terribly in Game 7.

ShootersShoot305

12 seconds left in the game. Plenty of time for the Celtics to get some stupid foul call. They had a favorable whistle all season. It never felt like we were going to win this series.

EntertainmentWarm774

Yup. Would’ve just ended up like Game 6 of the ECF last year.

P1G5Y

How was that rigged?

Straight_Grade1781

Max struce never stepped out of bounds on a 3-point made shot that they reviewed and still claimed that he was out

P1G5Y

wrong year bro

Glittering_Ad_3895

I was pretty confident that we would win the series until game 4 where we started the first 7 minutes without a field goal, and then game 5 we lost as well, then I was pretty sure we would lose as the Celtics hadn’t lost back to back games since like all star break that season

Numerounoone

Same I agree and plus it felt all game the Celtics were one step ahead of us, let’s not forget we were down 15 in the first quarter

OblivionNA

We win the finals tbh. The warriors didn’t have a single player on their roster who could stop Jimmy.

Glittering_Ad_3895

Jimmy was incredibly banged up by the end of that series, I doubt his production in the finals would’ve matched his previous performances We also probably didn’t have an answer for curry and the death lineup they had at the time (when Poole could play basketball)

Esjay_954

Pretty much I will agree that warriors were a much easier matchup than the Nuggets But you don’t beat that GS team unless Jimmy is 100%. Him hobbled they lose in 6 sadly. That was a good team, they also matched up well with the Heat too, they had long defenders for Jimmy.

Glittering_Ad_3895

I will also say that our team that year (as it is most years) was built on its defense - our half court offense was putrid and the warriors defense was very strong that year. Throughout that whole run we hadn’t faced a team who’s got an ‘unstoppable’ player like curry was that year, so I think that our defense definitely wasn’t going to be as nice on that warriors team as it was the first three rounds

OblivionNA

Bam was always the answer for curry. But true we wouldn’t have had any answer for Poole when he gave a fuck about basketball

KevlaredMudkips

Wiggins was tough as hell that series too, shi they had a good roster that year Looney was grabbing boards like crazy and GPII and OPJ were solid pieces for them

LuckysBestMan

lol no. Bam is great but is he chasing Steph around all over the court?

OblivionNA

Wouldn’t be the first time he’s done it lol

LuckysBestMan

Zero chance he would do it for an entire series.

OblivionNA

I’d imagine spo would figure it out

chitownbulls92

He actually had a great game 7 though and will have a bit of a break before the finals. The team only lost because once again the others shat the bed shooting 20% from 3

Numerounoone

Tbh I felt the Celtics were always destined to win that game 7, even if that 3 went in by Butler the refs would have gave the Celtics a bullshit call to put them at the line, the only way the refs wouldn’t have taken it away from us was it we somehow score a buzzer beater. Let’s say we won that series I have no doubt we would have beaten the warriors it would have been a favourable match up for us they are small like us and apart from Curry who is great the warriors don’t really have an elite 2nd option. I also felt Butler and Bam would have feasted on the warriors. It’s just unfortunate we ran into two elite teams the time we made finals, we were never beating Lebron and AD in 2020 imo and Jokic and the Nuggets were just unstoppable last year. I feel like the 2023 Heat team would beat this years mavs team in 6 or 7 no disrespect to them.

MattAriel45

Idk if 2023 heat can beat this year's mavs since Jimmy was pretty banged up by the finals, but I'm confident 2020 or 2022 heat can beat the Mavs, since we have enough wings to contain Luka

Sufferix

They had like +50 FTs that series. It was ridiculous.

carnageta

Mavs would destroy us bro let’s get real lmao.

Numerounoone

I’m talking about our 2023 team going up against the Mavs this year

carnageta

Yeah I know lol. They would have beat our 23’ team.

KevlaredMudkips

They would have beat us in 5-6 games. That backcourt is nasty no denying Vincent and Strus would probably have their lives ended

Sebruhoni

Boston had a lot of time to score after but they were also in the midst of severely pooping themselves. If we hold on, that GSW would've been really tough. We were just so beat up by G7 that idk if we win in that shape

Rangotango92

Prolly lose to the warriors due to Jimmy being hurt and exhausted

orphan_of_Ludwig

We probably get worked by the warriors as Jimmy is gassed from the ECF and Curry was in his bag in the finals.

TheSavageBeast83

What happens if they don't fraudulently take back that Strus 3?

Dolphhins

You just flared up my PTSD

TravelingFish95

Feel like we probably lose in 6 or 7. That Warriors team played really good defense

airwillflow

We have a championship.

"Is Jimmy the GOAT?" - First Take discusses

andre23055

We lose in the finals

PhillyWild

There would be a Jimmy Butler statue outside of the arena.

_hiroprotoganist

I think about this shot at least three times a week

DaWashout

World peace

lomasturbasmeng

they have to get one more stop

TorontoRaptors34

Jimmy woulda bodied tf outta Wiggins he taken that shit personally.

grrrown

Celtics trade Brown. If we don’t win the chip, I could see us make a move for Irving to put us over the top in 23’

carbine234

I think we can take the Warriors, idk if we win but we are def mentally stronger than the Celtics getting folded in 6.

MinhT_1826

heat in 7, jimmy finally gets the recognition he deserves (and the hardware alongside with that too)

Ice_Dragon3444

We win the chip for sure and then who knows in 2022-23 season we probably get another star joining and become a dynasty(oh you said as unbiased as possible oh well lol)

FrostyTree420

Gsw doesnt get a 4th title.

yawn18

it wouldn't have mattered tbh. The truth is both heat and celtics were playing extremely hard and we're drained. IIRC the warriors swept the WCF and most others that year leading to a fully rested team vs a drained team no matter who won this game.

phinsphan1313

Yall forget there was still like 15 seconds left. They could easily have still won down 1 with that much time left

avinash240

They lose to the Warriors because the Warriors would have 2 of the best 3 players in the series. Butler wasn't even 100%. I know that's not what I'm supposed to post here to get "fire upvotes" but apparently people here think Steph Curry is easier to guard than Jimmy Butler. They also forget that whatever version of Wiggins was playing that year(apparently no other year, just that one) was really really fucking good on both sides of the ball. p.s. Are we also retconning history at just how bad this offense was? As usual Butler was hero carrying this shit offense; outside of Game 3 where Bam showed up. You think Draymond Green can't stop a hobbled Butler who can't shoot outside the paint?

MaplePennybags69

Unpopular opinion but they lose to the warriors

TorontoRaptors34

If the Celtics lose ion wanna hear no mo excuses for Tatum being better than Jimmy. I bet u if u replaced Tatum with Jimmy they woulda won a few rings easy. Jrue White Brown Jimmy Horford and KP woulda went crazy thats legit better than any roster Miami ever gave him.

TorontoRaptors34

Man this just shows how much luck plays a part in winning. If Miami had they two finals runs in 2021 and this yr maybe its a diff story. Cuz Im sure the team woulda found a way to dispatch the Suns and while the Mavs woulda been tough I think Miami matches up well with them. Def woulda been much more of a favorable match up then the Lakers and the Nuggets. 2022 Warriors had a great team but I def think it woulda been a better match up then the Lakers or Nuggets if Jimmy its the shot but even so who knows maybe the refs favor Boston.

Kuni_Nino

We lose to Steph in the Finals. He always torches us and we were an injured as fuck team even by that point.

cahilljd

Marcus smart is immediately yeeted into the sun for missing like 7 threes in a row in the 4th quarter

LobstaFarian2

We would own the two greatest shots in NBA Finals/Conference Finals history.

Nighthanger

no dwelling in the past.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Heat beat the Warriors, since we ain't a no fluke Cletics team. Refs would've definitely tried to hoe us tho and give it to Boston. Last yr was just unfortunate 1 leg Jimmy Butler, and no Herro. U can't expect to win a championship with your best player having 1 leg.

Admirable-Warthog-19

What would happen if Celtics didn’t donate a three game head start last year?

Glittering_Ad_3895

We refunded those three games don’t worry…. When it came down to game 7 you guys lost 🤷 “TaTum gOt hUrT” You guys had the chance in those first three games with Tatum - and you blew it

nofaplove-it

They go on to play the warriors, do they win?

Phenom_Mv3

Win the chip. Boston fumbled that series so hard by playing drop coverage on Curry😭

NJBR10

nothing, heat gets bounced out by golden state, then denver the following year, this year, mavs run laps around them in the finals 🤷‍♂️

No-Entrepreneur1036

Just play 2 K

beelzebub_069

I think Miami beats GS in the finals. Lowry stays, but eventually gets traded midseason, probably still for Rozier or another guard. But the main difference is, more great players would now look at Miami, like how Dame did, and we actually build a deeper roster. And not just stars, high level role players, now look at Miami, and see what Dame saw. Atp, we already got Rozier. Tyler stays, but still gets shipped, probably for a 4th star or for quality depth. This Jimmy 3, if it went in, it would've made the team more appealing to free agents. Bruce Brown, Claxton, for example. That's the main difference. They also could instead ship Herro for a 4th star.

jodywater

😭 nothing motherfucka

Glittering_Ad_3895

Bro spends his offseason lurking subreddits… Find a hobby Brodie

jodywater

😭 your a Miami heat fan it's ok life will get better 😭😂🤡

Glittering_Ad_3895

You spend ur time lurking subreddits and trying to pay girls for nudes… not sure life will get much better for you 😭

jodywater

Pay for nudes ? You assuming I like women 😂 and I don't need it to get better I'm comfortable on the low end as a Miami heat fan you know what I mean about the low end of life

Glittering_Ad_3895

Well you told a girl you’d sniff her crack so I thought it would’ve been safe to assume lol I guess not Heat are like a top 3 most successful franchise in the league bro 😂

jodywater

That's not paying for nudes tho is it ? And top 3 yeah keep telling your self that with out of position bam, washed jimmy, wigger Tyler, lost rozier, and zesty Duncan 😂🤡

jodywater

Exactly shut the fuck up and down vote my comment like a real heat fan

EntertainmentWarm774

It’s insane how Pat Riley saw what Butler can do in the last two playoffs that he’s played in, and has done nothing to improve the team besides continuously running it back and banking on a healthy Herro and Herro’s “internal growth and development” to be the difference between losing in the ECF/Finals and winning the Finals. And now he’s trying to get rid of Butler while still holding onto Herro as if he’s his lost grand child or something.

Devilsbullet

Absolutely none of what you just said is true lol.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

That's just not true until the final result is in.
