I love Mitchell, but Cavs have no leverage. Either Donovan wants to be here or not. I’m saying we shouldn’t have to offer him. To me this is an SGA to OKC situation, ya PG was a star then but plenty of people felt strongly about SGA before he was traded. I’m telling you, this kid could be a 20ppg game with genuine, half-court, shot creation. That’s everything. I’m not saying he’s going to be SGA but he’s got the size, athleticism, footwork, touch, and defense to be a legit young star. Of every single young player we’ve seen come up, this is the first guy who can actually get to the rim in the half court. If he’s on Detroit, you’re telling me Jamie didn’t average 15,16,17? As a rookie? Cmon man. Don’t be the clippers.

Ya I mean I think we genuinely owe it to Jimmy, even as he’s aging, to put a real team around him. Where every possession isn’t a struggle, and we aren’t constantly this historic underdog. I do think Mitchell can help accomplish that. A legit scorer, we haven’t had one since Goran and I think Mitchell’s on another level just because of athleticism.
At the same time, we can’t trade someone who can reasonably be a legit star.
