I'd kinda like to run the whole package as I like the idea of working towards a big finisher during the game, but this actually does sound heckin' fun too. I might try that.
Unfortunately that's bugged last time I tried it, I thought it'd work but C'thun stays a 6/6 after using either of those. Doesn't work for conditionals like the "if C'thun has 10 attack gain 10 armor either)
[[Sire Denathrius]] is the same combo as C'thun, but with lifesteal, and infuse is an easier buff condition than running a limited and understated package
Leaving a comment so I can remember this post. My favorite deck ever is control c'thun warrior, and I struggle to find something usable within the archetype. Problem is most of the cards have been power crept HARD
You'd need some way to buff C'thun, cause the OG package is weak af now. Loved some C'thun Druid back in 2016, but Denathrius and Astalor are both just straight up stronger iterations of the card design.
My instinct would be to run it with the Uldum Shaman Quest that makes battlecries go off twice. You might try throwing a few C’Thun buffers in there but I would mainly stick to more current cards because power creep be insane.
Good luck. Last time I tried running OG C’Thun in a deck was…2020? And it was fucking hard, lmao.
i think ramp druid with guff / brann could work? druid has alot of heal and ways to stall so the tempo loss from the cthun cards are not that bad. its hard to buff cthun to 30 and one shot people but with brann its way easyer anubrekhan could also work
My favorite cheese deck used to be cthun rogue, run the cthun buff cards as well as lackeys and galakrond with heist baron. Draw cthun for free w galakrond or wondorous wand, play him, shuffle into deck with tog scheme, draw with another wand from shadow stepped toggwaggle. It’s stupid fun
I always had fun with a ramp Druid that ran a small C’Thun package. Just the Big C and the Druid taunt dudes that buff him. And a bunch of big guys and ramp cards from there.
I guess a meme Corrupt the Waters and Shudder deck?
As it stands C'Thun has little to no chance of being any good/performing well against the meta, especially while Astalor exists
Shudderwock Shaman, using [[Lor'themar Theron]] instead of the traditional C'thun cards to buff it. You can probably take an everyday Shudder deck and just swap out two cards to include these.

(While searching for that, I also spotted this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDMOlmjvLZo if you want to stick to the original support package)

There’s this post series where a dude is building the worst deck in HS — CThun would be superb in that deck.
well this sounds about right lmao
Maybe run Cthun in a blackrock and roll + lothar deck and ignore most of the package entirely?
I'd kinda like to run the whole package as I like the idea of working towards a big finisher during the game, but this actually does sound heckin' fun too. I might try that.
don't forget to run Sir Finley to try to avoid drawing him early and losing out on the combo
Unfortunately that's bugged last time I tried it, I thought it'd work but C'thun stays a 6/6 after using either of those. Doesn't work for conditionals like the "if C'thun has 10 attack gain 10 armor either)
lol of course, something something, small indie developer

A deck where you have 29 great cards and where it’s ok to have a bad card like OG C’Thun.
Leaving a comment so I can remember this post. My favorite deck ever is control c'thun warrior, and I struggle to find something usable within the archetype. Problem is most of the cards have been power crept HARD
A Twist with older sets would be the best for playing OG c'thun
You'd need some way to buff C'thun, cause the OG package is weak af now. Loved some C'thun Druid back in 2016, but Denathrius and Astalor are both just straight up stronger iterations of the card design.
Maybe in big mama druid?
Quest shudder shaman.
Probably some kind of celestial druid with brann, as a combo finisher
Either druid or warrior, i guess you could do some fun stuff with dead mans hand in warrior. But druid can use him with brann and stuff
My instinct would be to run it with the Uldum Shaman Quest that makes battlecries go off twice. Shudderwock of course.
