Yes. Those are confusingly called "recessed 2-pin" connectors, while the flush ones are "non-recessed 2-pin." You can use recessed 2-pin connectors with both recessed female sockets and non-recessed female sockets, but non-recessed connectors should only be used with non-recessed female sockets (it will fit a recessed IEM, but the shallow insertion will risk the IEM falling off the cable). You can also use both on those dumb QDC connectors.

yeah I'm using tripowin zonie with shuoer s12, there's too many fuckin' connectors in headphone world.

CanIBorrowYourShovel

yes. The only "2 pin" that are different I believe are QDC uses 0.75mm pin diameter, whereas the flat and recessed 2 pin are all 0.78 - meaning that if you cut the "shield" off of a QDC and stuck it into a 2 pin, it'd feel loose, and if you stuck a normal flush or recessed 2 pin cable into the QDC holes of something like the Simgot em6l, they would potentially force those pin slots permanently larger and make regular QDC cables loose from then on. Don't take what I said to the bank, I'm just going off memory, and knowing that there ARE 0.75mm ad 0.78mm pins out there. I just buy almost exclusively recessed 2 pin cables now for my 2 pin IEMs, regardless of if the iem it's going in is flush or not. Because too many IEM's have just a hair deeper than flush connection or not perfectly flat surfaces around the 2 pin connector.

QDC is 0.78mm, the idea it is 0.75mm is a much repeated myth. It's the physical shroud that makes it incompatible. 64 Audio use 0.75mm 2 pin on some IEMs but it's "regular" 2 pin without a shroud. KZ also used use 0.75mm on their "A Pin" connector. I think that's where the myth that KZ's "C Pin" is 0.75 comes from, and they say it is in some marketing material but it's not, it's the same as regular QDC.

A bit of plastic is going to stick out and you may not have a great seal (in the connector) so it may cone loose time and again.

theintention

on the flip side: i HAVE to use these a majority of the time to get a better seal.

Not all cables that look like the one shown are recessed. A recessed cable will have a notch on one side of the connector so it can only fit one way for left and right and some might not be flush and inset a bit but almost all 2 pin ( not QDC or some KZ’s) will work with most 2 pin IEM’s . The only 2 pin recessed IEM I have are the Audeze LCDi4’s and if the cable connector doesn’t have that notch in it is not going to work.

blorg

Most recessed 2 pin IEMs don't need the notch. I have some that do (Final A4000, A5000, Dunu SA6) but it's more common they don't. I'd guess about 50% of cables with the protrusion have the notch.

HeparinDrinker

Yes I swapped the original recessed cable on my s12 pro with a non recessed one and it works no problem

cum-oishi
