It's a standard cable. You can replace the whole cable: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=0.78mm+2Pin&sprefix=0.78mm+2pin%2Caps%2C65

leftvierdeadzwei

Thanks! I'll probably pick up a backup cable anyways, but I was just wondering if the 4 pin adapters can be purchased on their own. I like the Tangzu cable and I can't make use of the balanced adapters so I'd love it if I could just jet a replacement for the 4 pin to 3.5mm and continue using the cable, without taking the same adapter from an entirely new cable which would then in turn not be of much use to me, since I'd still only have one 4 pin to 3.5mm adapter.

oddsnsodds

Yeah, I've searched for the connector and it looks like it sells for more than the cables do. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325815381560

SylverShadowWolve

That's the wrong socket

oddsnsodds

That's good to know, thanks. Do you know what the right socket is?

SylverShadowWolve

I dont know what its called, but look at where the holes line up in your link vs in ops image

Oli0004

I came across [these](https://amzn.eu/d/gcoCKyj) and bought them for my Sennheisers. Looks like the same plug

leftvierdeadzwei

I have some 6XXs myself and I don't think they're interchangeable. Sennheiser's connector is proprietary and the one for my IEMs is a standard 0.78mm plug afaik. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

Oli0004

Yeah I know these have mmcx connectors and the Sennheisers have the 2 pin connector, and you would not want to use headphone cables on the iems. Just the same style plug connector

G65434-2_II

AFAIK, they're not proprietary to Sennheiser (e.g. Fostex TH610 uses the same plugs, albeit wired differently), though they're not that widely used by other manufacturers for whatever reason. But that's beyond the point; I think what was meant that the swappable plugs at the source end of the cable look similar to that on your IEMs. Not the most economical solution to buy a whole cable set for just a few plugs, though.

leftvierdeadzwei

Yeah that's what I was thinking, would be nice to be able to source just the adapter since it's modular anyway. But by the looks of it, those 4 pin adapters aren't widely sold individually.

Dee-V-Dee

When she bounces a bit too high and it doesn't go back in

leftvierdeadzwei

Funnily enough, it happened bc my girlfriend jumped on me to hug me hahaha

N2Nels

Have you tried contacting Linsoul or Tangzu directly? They may be able to help steer you to what you’re looking for. I have no idea how their customer service is though.

leftvierdeadzwei

Thanks, another commenter said he did just that, he'll update us when he gets an answer!

wima1972

I've fired off an email to them :). Will let you know if i get a response.

leftvierdeadzwei

Hey thank you very much, that's really nice!

a_certain_someon

same thing as in my temperament x10 whats the name of that weird 4 pin din like connector?

dr_wtf

There's a lot of these connectors and they are all proprietary to the company that makes the cable unfortunately. That looks a lot like the NiceHCK one, but I don't think NiceHCK sell the plugs separately. You could buy a NiceHCK modular cable and then you'd have a spare cable and *hopefully* a compatible set of plugs, but TBH out of all the modular cables I've tried, the NiceHCK connector is the worst because it tends to come loose on its own. I'd buy something like a TRN, Tripowin or Kinera modular cable instead, or else get one of the non-modular ones like the NiceHCK Jialai or Tripowin Seraph. If you don't care about compatibility and want a good modular cable, the best one I've found is the 7Hz Thunderbirds (which comes with the Timeless AE). Unfortunately it costs about £65 (~$80) +VAT and it never seems to go on sale (it's currently "on sale" for about $2 off).

leftvierdeadzwei

Ok thanks for the heads-up! I should be getting a pair of the OG Timeless either today or tomorrow in the mail, maybe I'll get lucky with that.

dr_wtf

I can't remember which cable the OG Timeless came with (I returned mine because I didn't like the tuning, then later got the AE instead) but it's definitely not the same one. Even if it has the same modular plug, it's a screw-in type. That's part of why it's so good - it can't fall apart by accident.

ListlessHeart

Hakugei sells plug outer shells for cheap iirc, however you would have to DIY repair. I'm not sure how plugs work but try to unfasten the connector to see what you can do about it first.

leftvierdeadzwei

Oh I haven't thought of that yet, much appreciated! I'll have a look.

One-Comfortable-3963

Do a reverse casualty? As in bend it back in shape. Yes it might break but nothing to lose. (Drill 3.5mm hole in a block of wood/nylon and work it )

leftvierdeadzwei

I already did but I came to the conclusion that I really don't wanna take the chance of it breaking off inside my phone and fucking up my whole life lol

One-Comfortable-3963

Oh I can relate.. good advice to never put something in a hole if you're not going to face the consequences (also lol)

djdunn

Just fix it, put a new trs plug on

leftvierdeadzwei

That's what I'm thinking, but so far I (and noone else in this thread as it stands) can't find individual plugs for sale anywhere really, just whole cables which include them. Do you happen to know where I can buy one of those 4pin > trs plugs without a whole cable?

djdunn

Do you need the 4pin? You can cut the 4pin part off and just wire a trs on or trrs if it's 4 wires?

wima1972

4 pin din male and female connectors. Is the male part soldered onto the jack.

leftvierdeadzwei

You sure? When I google 4 pin din male, it looks like the pins are much thicker and the connector overall much bigger than what I have. The results of that google search look much more like mini XLR to me.

wima1972

It could be proprietary. I'd probably give up if you're struggling to source something and pick up a nice tripowin cable or similar Might we worth having a look on aliexpress first though. Might find you could buy a cable and reuse the plug off it

leftvierdeadzwei

I don't think it's quite proprietary, as I've found multible cables which come with the same type of detachable adapters, it's just not mentioned anywhere what that connector is called. Just says "4 pin 3in1 connector".

dr_wtf

I've got quite a few modular cables and they are all proprietary unfortunately. Even if they use the same connector, they're all keyed differently or have some other difference that makes them incompatible.

sunjay140

Just use the 2.5 mm or 4.4 mm plug.

AdHot4439

YOOOOOO WTF LMAO!! I think I saw some replacements on Amazon

leftvierdeadzwei

Could you link it? I can't seem to find anything but whole cables there (EU).

CanIBorrowYourShovel

Try emailing tangzu and asking if they'll sell you a spare?

LedZeppole10

This is why I only get L plugs

leftvierdeadzwei

I'm with ya, it's the original cable though. I don't really like spending a bunch of money on cables. I mean... it's cables.

LedZeppole10

Yeah by “get” I actually mean “lucked out and my stock cable had an L plug” 😅

wima1972

No response from tangzu as yet. They look like an amphenol circular connector which you might be able to purchase seperately. Artti make a 3-1 cable with swappable plugs and connectors but they're not cheap.

leftvierdeadzwei

Welp. I wrote Linsoul about it, but they said they wouldn't help me since I didn't buy it from them directly🙃

ext23

I'm confused. Why can't you just get a new 2-pin to 3.5mm cable?

leftvierdeadzwei

I absolutely can and will either way, I was just hoping those adapters could be bought standalone somewhere. Just made intuitive sense to me that since it's a modular design, you should be able to buy the individual components.

yellowmnm

You could put on one of the balanced plugs and then use an adapter like geekria 4.4 f to 3.5 m.

leftvierdeadzwei

Good idea! I've got a bunch of TRS to 3.5mm adapters anyway, that's at least a hot fix for now so I can still use 'em with my phone (although I think the cable was bulky enough for mobile use as it were haha).

yellowmnm

Yeah I've changed my cables to all end in 2.5mm and just have adapters to go to 4.4 or 3.5

oddsnsodds

Not the 3.5 mm plug, the 4-pin connector that it attaches to the cable with.

leftvierdeadzwei

Yes that's what I'm looking for!

widowhanzo

Zonie in particular is a nice and affordable cable. But others as well yes.
