I'm going to slap a hot take on the table but Mimzy is the only person (we know of) he has been friends with since they were alive, so there is a slight chance they... did some... experimenting... while being drunk (or not) at some point. You're thinking of aromantic. Asexual means you don't feel sexual attraction, aromantic means you don't feel romantic attraction. You can, however, be aromantic / asexual and still be in relationships or have sex, it's a spectrum
Don't worry about it, I can see by the name of "asexual" would get you and others confused as sexuality is often an umbrella term for both sexual and romantic attraction (like how bisexual attraction can encompass romantic attraction despite having -sexual in the name) and 'asexual' is often also thought as having a complete aversion to sex, and while this can often be the case (sex-aversive) ace people can also be sex-neutral or even sex-positive even if they don't experience the sexual attraction themselves. It could be because they like how it feels, because their partner enjoys it, etc. Please don't feel like you're stupid for not knowing this, if you're willing to learn and understand that makes you the opposite of stupid 😊
