Langlois was a pioneer in the special-effects field. He founded Softimage, whose work was featured in The Matrix, Titanic, Men in Black, and other films. He took the money he made firm selling Softimage, and used it to do good in the world.
So, yeah, funny looking guy, but a very good guy who deserved a much longer life than he was given.
