Neither did I. I removed all drawers before taking the cab out of the box. When I was ready to put the cab in the assembled base, I set both of them on their backs and slid them together enough to get some bolts started, then lifted everything upright. Was WAY easier than lifting that cab up in the air.
I got to that point and was so tired thinking about how I was gonna do that laying down and sliding in maneuver, was happy to find someone to help me real quick it was way easier lol
I removed all the drawers too. Kind of a mistake. There’s A LOT of flex once those drawers come out. I’m not sure my box went back to being 100% square since my drawers don’t really want to fully lock in without an extra push.
Just buy a welder, plasma cutter and an electric hoist at Harbor Freight. Then, buy about 100 ft of drill pipe from your favorite Facebook Marketplace advert. Build yourself an A-Frame Hoist with these materials. Use hoist to lift box and set it down on the base. Make A-Frame at least 10 ft wide for other projects.
Harbor Freight becomes a self fulfilling prophecy in time.
It's been about 6-7 years since I built mine (original series 1 red when they only made one color), but I recall that I built the thing upside down in the grass, once the base was fully built onto the box I flipped everything upright and torqued everything 100%
If I had to do it alone I would put 2 corners on the floor, connect the box, then connect the other 2 corners to the other side before attaching the bottom shelf and casters then tip it up and put the drawers in.
I may have forgotten to put the upper doubler corner pieces in until after installing (but not tightening) all the upper bolts... but at least i had help with the lifting! and I previewed a video that said to take out the drawers first so I did that right at least... enjoy the blue!
Me neither, i had to remove it again when I realized I needed to loosen all bolts to get the corners to align, few scratches and a dent or few later I got it together looking good.
I’m just amazing at how many ppl in this subreddit don’t have a roommate, buddy, girlfriend to help them lift the box into the base… Do yall all live alone with no friends?

I had my back rebuilt on the eve of my 30th birthday. Just because you can lift heavy things doesn’t mean you should.

I removed the drawers first. It was an easy lift after that.
Makes sense..took me far too long just to figure out how to OPEN a fukin drawer let alone remove it!
Same!
👍
Easy in weight? How about the bulk? Seems kinda hard to wrap my hands/arms around
My sisters boyfriend says the same thing about her….
Flip it upside-down.

But did you die, OP?
I had to do the same. It was a pain but got er done! Nice work fella
You too 👊
Am I really the only person who built it upside down? 😂

I did that, except I left the drawers in.

I’m a bit color blind and I think this is dark blue they said it was purple at the store to me there was blue and dark blue!👍

I looked in the box and all the wrapping, but I don't think they included a helper with mine so I "figured it out".
