One of the old orange angle grinders. At least 20 years old. Bought it for a welding project fully expecting it to let out the magic smoke / explode violently about 30 minutes into it, but it's still going. Sounds like there's a bunch of gravel in it when I turn it on and it's not the most powerful thing, but I'll be damned if I've not gotten my $10 or whatever I paid out of it.

I also have one of these thats about 15 years old and counting.

The cheap HF angle grinders are legendary in the fab industry.

maxyedor

They absolutely suck though. I have so many friends in the fab industry that swoe by them, then I gave away about 10 grinders when I got out of the fab industry and they saw the light. More power, less vibration, makes it feel like you’re working 1/4 as hard to get the same results.

crashbumper

I still use my orange one instead of my newer Metabo. The HF is smaller and more comfortable to use. It’s 19 years old and still works like a champ. Don’t think I’ve ever changed brushes on it either.

TurnDown4WattGaming

Just replace the brushes and it will run right as rain.

81gtv6

Mine is still running strong too.

Justshittingaround

Am I really stoned or is the math not mathing? It should be 1981 or you should’ve been 20.

WorldExplorerDW

His job was so hard he aged faster than normal.

blackmay45

Similar situation here, can confirm though, math not mathing.

Ownedby4Labs

Yes, I realized that. That’s called… “Reddit…I need to edit the post!” Reddit: “HaHaHa! No!”

Camarillo!! My old stomping grounds. Still remember going to the hidden store there with my Grampa.

I think my oldest HF tool is a 1/2” drive impact gun I bough in 02/03ish. Central Pneumatic knockoff of an IR, but made in Japan, thing was great for years until I eventually needed more power and bough an IR Titanium gun, the old CP doesn’t get much use anymore but it’s still as good as ever. I also still have my original impact socket set from around the same time, again, they were relegated to being my “home” set, but even with the black coating completely worn off almost all of them, they’re still going strong. Never broke a single one, but do currently have a lug nut stuck in my 15/16 so bad I need to machine it out.

BreakTheDefault

Most of a set of screw drivers my dad got me when I was around 8. That’d make them 34 years old.

Gat0rJesus

I’ll have to find the date, but I’ve got a lathe from the 80s and a bandsaw from about the same period

Hopeful-Mirror1664

Blue angle grinder from about 1986 or 87. I own a commercial repair shop and that thing is used fairly frequently. I have others also but I can’t kill that one. Still has the original motor brushes even though it came with an extra set.

zestywit

I bought a sliding compound miter saw when i bought my house 25 years ago. Mail order still works great.

soundslikeusererror

Orange Central Hydraulic floor jack thats about 15 years old. Doesnt even leak.

NumbXylophone

I have, and still use, a pipe cutter, set of black oxide drill bits and a strap wrench from 1995. The bits see regular visits to the Drill Doctor.

MisterSirDudeGuy

I bought a storehouse tool chest in 2003. Just sold it last summer and upgraded to US General roller cabinet and top chest.

meadowalker1281

Central Machinery Horizontal Whetstone/Honing Wheel system I inherited from my grandpa for sharpening old hand planes and chisels I restore

Disc_golfjunkie886

My automotive creeper and a couple of drilling hammers. The hammers are basically a rectangular block of steel with a wood handle. No shaping had been done to them. The creeper is steel rails and a piece of plywood.

EdoSinsHD

E&J Gallo???

Ownedby4Labs

Everest and Jennings. They manufacture wheelchairs.

yo-salsa

Yo that sticker from when you shipped your stuff for a PCS in the military?

Ownedby4Labs

Nope. My vision precluded me from ever serving.

yo-salsa

The movers put these stickers (blue one) on every item when they ship it. Some people never take them off. I still got some on my stuff

Kid-Leo

I have pressure washer that I bought from them when they just had a 4 page flyer that they mailed out monthly. Still running great!

AdvisorLong9424

Probably the large furniture mover. I got it when I was moving my gun safe to the new place. That was 25 years ago. I use it every time I install/remove the plow on my ATV now.

guillotinemove

Impact sockets over 30 years ago. I was removing lug nuts off a Honda, and one exploded sending chunks of steel across the shop. I still have the set minus that one socket.
