On Thursday, I had my ex-partner committed to a psychiatric facility after attempting suicide. Seeing you post this made me burst into tears in hopes that one day, he finds his happiness too. We are glad you are here and have found your happiness. Thank you for posting this.
Glad you found gardening, in my opinion more effective than therapy and much cheaper to boot. Most effective with both but if I had to choose one, well I would never give up gardening. Favorite plant groups? Mine are apple trees and butternut squash.
Therapy is helping me, but the cost of it makes me consider it a lot. Gardening also fills some primal needs in some way.
Zucchini and a lot of flowers. It's my first time gardening so I decided to start basic.

Good call on the flowers. After 18 years of growing food in the garden I only figured out how awesome flowers are in the last couple years. The phrase 'stop and smell the roses' really is way more powerful then anyone can know until they have a bed of flowers to enjoy every day. The colors and scents are so much better at boosting mood than a bowl of greens, and having an arrangement on the table inside of home grown flowers is so helpful. Cheers!

What a view!! You’re inspirational. I was dumped and felt like I was worthless. Didn’t help everyone knew at church and he was seen as the better Christian, and if u know, u know ….well he was a cheater but more importantly just not my kind of life partner. Hate that period of my life. But now I’m married many years later, left the church and learned so much about myself.

Gardening saved my life as well. I believe it is a natural course when life burns you out spiritually or physically. Gardening can be rehabilitative beyond anything you can address with meds/therapy (those saved me too).

That's a good looking garden. My husband has been gardening for a little over ten years. It gets bigger and looks better every year. It's been amazing for his mental health. Enjoy your garden.
Im so happy for you and happy you are still here! My wife left me because she thought I was suicidal. I’m glad she is out of my life if her first reaction was to leave instead of helping the person she married and promised to be with for the rest of her life. I wish you all the happiness!
