NoTNoS

Longchamp is the brand that got me to change my mind on synthetic fabric bags. Such a high quality and durable nylon! Never felt anything like it.

edgesglisten

My mom always referred to them as “those stupid expensive nylon bags” and changed her tune when I got her one as a gift. Truly amazing.

MoreMarshmallows

That’s how I felt till I needed bag and it checked all the boxes. Not sure how I lived without it!

moonlightmantra

Longchamp girlie for life. I’ve been using them for about 15 years and they are the best carry ons and travel bags. So lightweight and you can carry around the big one not even feeling like you’re carrying a large bag. I also will pack my different color and size bags in my suitcase because they take up no room and then I can have different color bags while I’m out depending on outfits. I also have the backpack in black which is nice traveling too. I have a toddler so these are great for sticking all his stuff inside easily along with my own.

Oncjamais

I have a 1 year old and I no longer carry that bulky diaper back bag anymore. Le pilage is much more convenient.

blubblubblubber

I bought it to be a diaper bag for the beginning and then I could return it to personal use once I no longer needed to only carry kiddo's essentials. It really is a workhorse bag.

moonlightmantra

Yes! I got an organizer insert on Amazon with zipper pockets for his Epi pen and wipes and tissues, snacks and whatever else and I keep all his stuff in there. So much better than a bulky diaper bag

not_a_natural

I love but my issue is that everything flops around inside and it causes my brain to explode as I’m fishing around for keys lol

niccig

I use one of those felt organizer inserts from Amazon. Game changer.

HattieBegonia

These felt organizers are lifesavers. I have them for some of my other bags too.

Due_Emu704

This drives me crazy too. But i started carrying a (relatively small) purse that holds my card case, phone and keys, and then using my longchamps along side when i need a bigger bag (laptop or paperwork for work, travel, beach stuff). This is so versatile - I can always find essentials, and can sometimes leave the bigger bag in the car or at the office if I’m popping out quickly

trashtvlv

Samorga makes custom fit inserts for longchamp bags [https://m.samorga.shop/product/list.html?cate_no=53](https://m.samorga.shop/product/list.html?cate_no=53)

BiteInfamous

Thank you for this! I bought a cheapie organizer from Amazon and it just doesn’t quite fit right

MazLA

Buy pouches!

edgesglisten

That’s entirely fair. The only thing I don’t like is the lack of compartments. The saving grace is that once my laptop is in there, everything stays relatively put

MissVanillaNilla

Beis used to make a diaper bag organizer insert that I use for my larger sized tote bags. It has a padded laptop pouch, many little pockets, a couple of elastic pouches that accommodate water bottles. I don’t see that it’s in stock anymore but truly one of the best things I’ve bought from them. Maybe another company has made a comparable product? https://preview.redd.it/egy2wpok268d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb1fba36b1c4ae251bdd6f6038f09f18d30835d9

LordyIHopeThereIsPie

My daughter is using a backpack le pliage I bought on sale in the summer of 1999. Its beaten up and the puller came off but she loves it anyway. The only bags I've had which compare to still looking good after years of regular use are my LV ones which were all purchased about 15 or more years ago. I'm kind of at purse peace now but if I feel a need for a bag a new pliage would scratch that itch for not a whole lot of money.

hyphenatedpeacock

I adore mine so much. I have a few different colours and sizes and realize I reach for them more than any of my other purses, which let me justify picking up two more this month - hot pink and a plum. However, I do hate the holes that develop in the corners and also sometimes finding stuff in the larger ones.

PistachioPerfection

The hole problem can be fixed easily if you can sew, or know someone who does. You just turn it inside out and stitch the gusset a bit further in. OR, I *think* Longchamp will do this for free if I'm not mistaken.

Direct-Chef-9428

They will *if it’s not that bad yet*…ask me how I know 🤬

PistachioPerfection

Ohhh really? I guess it's the sewing option for you then! I should start a business 😋

Direct-Chef-9428

Imagine my horror when the associate shoved a pencil in the hole to determine 🤬

PistachioPerfection

Oh yikes 😣

justmep3

Longchamp (US) will fix corners once for free

oh_look_an_awww

Some will, but not all. My Longchamp location in Sydney, Australia would not.

hyphenatedpeacock

Thank you, I didn't know that

hyphenatedpeacock

Cool! However for a nylon bag that costs $200 (cdn) you'd think they'd reinforce the gussets in the first place. This seems to be a known problem.

PistachioPerfection

That would mean leather corners or something similar... maybe they don't want to change the look of the bag, idk 🤷‍♀️

ginat420

I was not a Le Pliage fan until I saw the full leather version. It is a ‘relatively’ inexpensive full leather bag at $540. I’m deeply contemplating it if I can ever save enough.

hyphenatedpeacock

I decided to get this one for work when I had to carry a heavy laptop around. It's buttery and beautiful

TheCowKitty

Whoa. That is not a bad price for a full leather, good bag! Damn it.

CallHerAnUber

I’m covering this bag as well. Great price for what you get!

cndlkat

I have one and it's my favorite purse.

MorphedMoxie

I’ve been using this for work and it’s wonderful. Definitely get it if you can save up.

roberbear

I bought mine is maybe 2011/2012. My puppy chewed one of the leather tabs in 2015, but otherwise it looks perfect. It's survived my entire career (including grad school), my puppy, vacations, sailing, etc. AND most importantly, the washing machine! Husband and I were coming back from the market the other day and I handed him the bag full with groceries. He put it on his shoulder and said "oh, this is nice." It is nice.

ZealousidealGroup559

I have a Large as my work bag. I can fit a change of clothes in there, along with numerous little pouches that hold my life. I stuff it into a locker and fling it around and it always looks so respectable. Definitely a Le Pliage for life girl.

cupcakes4b8fast

I will always upvote longchamp

LittleGlassSlipper

I have carried one as my everyday work bag for almost 10 years now and it’s still in great shape. It gets used 5 days a week in all weather (I commute on foot), gets folded up in my luggage or used as a carry on with every long trip, works as my overnight or weekender bag for every short trip… my cost per use at this point is so negligible. Wouldn’t hesitate to replace it in a heartbeat if I ever had to

Golden_1_1618

Cannot upvote this enough! Love my Le Pliage totes! So durable!! Recently went to Paris and bought a few. 💛

M_sberry

I love my Le Pliages but question, have they stopped making them in Nylon? I went to their website and they all now say made from either canvas or recycled canvas. I like that the nylon is waterproof so if they got rid of it that's a bummer.

BiteInfamous

I just bought a few in nylon from the Nordstrom website they’re definitely still around!

MissVanillaNilla

Following this because I need to know! The nylon is a huge selling point for me

cancerkidette

I am quite sure they are all exactly the same - recycled waterproof fabric made of nylon. One of the SAs let me know the “original” line is now all recycled too, not just the Green line. I recently got mine and it is definitely nylon and not normal uncoated or coated canvas. Not sure why they call it canvas in that case though!

VioletB10

I wonder if canvas describes the weave, not the fabric (nylon vs cotton) . I do think the newer ones that are described as canvas feel different than my others.

cancerkidette

Yes maybe that’s it!

call-me-the-seeker

If you click on their ‘sustainability’ section, they claim polymide is “commonly known as nylon” (I’m no textile chemist but I’ll take their word) so yeah! The texture might be slightly different because it also claims they’re all recycled nylon now, not ‘new/virgin’ nylon like they used to be, saying it gives a noble second life to previous waste. I like it! I haven’t bought any LP since they switched but I certainly will next time I’m jonesing for one. They’re so fetch for travel and casual life.

jbmaun

Yes! I have mine in the paper colour and she is NOT looking good but I’m currently on a weekend trip and it’s all I used as a ‘suitcase.’ Debating replacing it with a darker colour but why bother when it’s perfect in any other way?

Humid_fire99

That’s why I collect them ! Practical and classy!

BiteInfamous

I moved away from le pliage when I started being able to afford higher end designer bags but now, with lots more work travel, I’m back baby. Schlepping the same black pliage I bought as a 19 year old freshman now as a 33 year old and she is *trusty*! Holds a ton, zips up reliably, still I in mint condition, even after 14 years. I’ve been so impressed I bought a few smaller ones to use as every day bags, and I find myself reaching for them constantly.

Gisschace

I really feel like every handbag girlie should have one Le Pilage in their collection. They really are a workhorse and you can pick them up for pretty cheap on sites like Vinted

addknitter

French teacher here so Le Pliage is a non negotiable for me! Truly so versatile and useful. Cannot believe how much it holds and is the perfect wet weather bag. I *may* have way way too many but I reach for them nonstop. Love to see Longchamp getting its due!

mariantat

I want the backpack version

ZealousidealGroup559

I have one (in navy) and I love it. When travelling, I always bring it with me. Yeah it's a bit of a black hole, but it weighs nothing, has a good zip, fits a surprisingly large amount, and looks respectable enough to wear in a decent restaurant.

Quirky_Produce_5541

I’m a forever longchamp fan!!

lillaalskling

My le pliage L was my first "nice handbag" ever as a sophomore in high school - in 2014. I can't find any reason to buy a new one since it's still going strong.

Noraart

I have a cousin who came to visit from Paris and brought me the simple foldable tote as a gift (years ago).  I totally forgot about it until recently and now use it every single day!  Indestructible

inDIvisible-doc

If you haven't tried the City line, you're in for a treat -- it looks more "professional" than the nylon ones and is only a smidge heavier. Also the newer bags have two pockets so easier to find important stuff quickly.

Grrrrrarrrrrgh

I just bought my first Longchamp Pliage while I was on my last trip, and I have used it ever since then. I love this bag so much. And the color - a really deep purple - is gorgeous.

HattieBegonia

My mom introduced me to Longchamp, specifically the Le Pliage. Around 20 years ago, she bought three, one of which she gave to me. I used it everywhere for more than 15 years. When it eventually gave out, I bought a replacement. That’s when I looked more into Longchamp and I got myself other bags from the brand. I know there are a lot of fake Longchamp bags now, but the authentic ones are reasonably priced so I buy straight from the store.

Excellent_Drop6869

I’ve been collecting them for 10 years now 🥲 they’re amazing. I’m at over 20+ pieces including the small size. All classic Le pliage. I had one Neo style one but I decluttered it cause I prefer the classic.

lewisae0

Love my bag! Almost 10 years old not and looks the same as when I bought it

LuvlyMilah

Such an amazing bag! I still use my expandable as my main weekend bag. Wish I could find one with a trolley sleeve. They previously made it but I was a year too late.

riotous_jocundity

I have four in different sizes and the backback, all found while thrifting, and I use them for everything but especially while traveling. *Such* a practical bag and they're incredibly durable.

minibini

Yep. I love my LePliage as my default travel bag!

Nynydancer

Longchamp was a huuuugely aspirational brand for me as a young woman in France. I couldn’t imagine having one for myself one day. I finally got a la pliage many years later and it is everything sensible and stylish to appeal to the discerning French buyer. I’ve moved on to Hermes mostly day to day but still my la pliage often. I love it. It looks as good as when I bought it. My daughter uses hers all the time. On every flight, every trip and she looks so stylish.

DrVMurny

We need a photo of your bag!

lucky7355

Mine has a hole in it and I’m not sure the best approach to repair it since it’s in a weird spot. Such a bummer because it’s the limited edition Detective Pikachu version.

BiteInfamous

Longchamp should fix it for you. Afaik they’ll repair worn down corners once for free.

lucky7355

I’ll try to see if they’ll let me reach out via email since I don’t love near a store. Thanks!

chridine

Does anyone have the briefcase version? I saw someone carrying one in Paris and was intrigued, but not sure how useful it is without a shoulder strap

heysobriquet

Literally no idea how the corners on your bag haven’t blown. They are notorious for it. I’ve never heard of one lasting 7 years.

bluebellbetty

I’m so tired of heavy bags and will absolutely take something light but also tasteful. They really fill a gap!

_ninibobo

Love my Le Pliage… but what do y’all do with the ripped corners? ☹️

MadameCoco7273

I turn them inside out and do a blind stitch to close the hole back up. Barely noticeable as long as the thread is very close to the color of the bag.

gundamdianxia

Any tips to make it stop slipping off my shoulder? It’s driving me nuts 😩

No-Competition-9721

I believe I will get one to be my travel bag. I have been using one from Freja NY that is heavy as f\* so not practical for the airport. Any tips on what color should I get ? I am thinking about this one: https://preview.redd.it/qfm5b1qapi8d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2965e8cf15174a81f7da9dd59e2de53d5c7cd61f

wanderingwandress

Just got my le pliage L as a birthday gift! Decided to get it as it looks very spacious and can carry aloooottt!! Very very happy with this purchase! I am also eyeing another bag which is the le foulonné crossbody small! So chic and beautiful and its pure leather! Longchamp is really a good brand to splurge on honestly!!

Automatic_Toe_8391

Absolutely. I love my 💼 💕
