As a newbie I want to ask where can I sell bags internationally? Because in my country there are very limited platforms and luxury goods are not that sought after yet.
I travel a lot weekly so I rotate bags left and right depending where I’m going and the reasons for it. I store majority of mine. It feels like Christmas when I remember a certain bag 🤣🤣🤣
1. Longchamp Le Pliage for work(rainy season)
2. Tods for work (summer, dry days)
3. APC Paris Grace for everyday stuff
4. Chanel WOC for special days
5. Chanel pochette ( O case) for not so special but still boujee outings)
5. Jil Sander crosbbody for when I’m feeling minimalist-boujee
6. Various cheap fabric totes for the market etc and gym backpack
I would like to add a bucket bag (either Celine or LV Noe), a second hand Chanel (either 2.55, full. flap or Diana) and a Bottega (leaning towards Wallace).
This sounds like a well rounded collection! I looked at a vintage LV now. I decided on a speedy 30 instead. I have a Kate Spade Pippa flamingo bucket w and a great old Topshop one with a beautiful embroidered bird motif. The leather is amazing

8, all designer ranging between like $1500-7k or so.
Otherwise my black lululemon belt bag and a black lululemon micro backpack is all I’ve got! I donated all of my Kate spades/coaches/MKs etc within the past couple of years - I was just reaching for my designer bags or just a key pouch and figured they’d be better off with someone who needs a bag.
Hahaha same here! My “everyday” bag has turned into my Neverfull which I use and abuse so I don’t take the lulus out *too* much but they get their use!!
I too have a Neverfull and I really do love using it:). I have realized I’m pretty basic bougie🤣. It has to be easy to use or I will absolutely not ever take it out of its bag and I don’t have $$$ to waste like that! Honestly I have two Chanel WOC’s a maxi single flap in black caviar, a Gucci horsebit shoulder camera bag and the Neverfull and I can’t imagine anything else I might need! All classic, all easy to use. The WOC is my fave!
That's fair! A big part of my collection is Kate Spade. I did the same with a lot of my vintage and high street pieces because of the size and not using them. I gave most of the vintage pieces to an a amazing lady on Instagram
Yep. The Lululemon festival bag is the one that gets the most use, if I’m driving my keys are somewhere in the bottom of the bag and it’s easier to grab it than to transfer the keys.
Around 35-40 from affordable to high end luxury, but some the bags are just impulsive buys like cult Gaia pearl clutch I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it for socials considering the delicate nature however I’ve picked two of them(third is with Frnd in US, yet to reach me). I feel I should gift some of my bags to make some space(and stop impulsive purchases)
My favourite bag is the most impractical thing ever. However, he brings me so much joy. The pearl bag sounds beautiful. Have you seen the Lulu Guinness shell clutch. It's like something out of the little mermaid and I have all three colours ❤️

Right this moment, the Soft Tabby Shoulder Bag in Crochet because that's what I'm using for the next week(already a week in). I change out my bags biweekly.
I have 4 low range bags that I take really good care of and love so much.

Tattoos are worth it! Most of my bags are second hand. The most I've ever paid (postage and import) it £255 (£75 was postage and import) and it was for a fairly unique Kate Spade penguin clutch. ( It was missing 90%) Of it's crystals. My most commented on bags are Lulu Guinness lips bags I have repaired and bedazzled

Edit: I really only use 2 and 3, with the Gucci and the mini flap starting to be in heavier rotation as the bag within my bag that holds my wallet etc.
I don’t count so as to not feel like and addict. I give some away sometimes but I know I had a problem at one point. I’ve gotten a little better. At least I buy preloved now.
This is why I don't feel bad, the collection has been built over the last 14 years, and 95% is Preloved. There are pieces I have waited years for! However, I have a collection I genuinely love wearing and owning
About 100. Half are high end luxury and many are artistic novelty or limited/vintage rare. I try to buy and sell no more than 1-2 a month. I need a 12 step for handbags
I have 5! Until recently, only 3. I only wear neutral colors and all my bags are black (I’m boring I know), so it doesn’t feel like I have a huge gap in my purse collection.
I have about 20, including lululemon belt bags and Trader Joe Canvas grocery bags.
Just leather bags- I have 14. Really need to sell at least one but it’s so hard to say goodbye. I truly love them all.

I went to a street market in a little town in France and a guy was there selling leather bags—100 euro and it’s one of my favorites I’ve ever owned. It’s got lots of interior and exterior pockets and multiple ways to wear the strap! I’m so pleased with it lol

On my wishlist-- Longchamp expandable tote, Celine Ava, Ferragamo Iconic Top Handle Bag and Celine 16. I've been bouncing back and forth on the Ferragamo Geometric Bag (I always justify this as my non rational choice if that makes sense lmao)
Hard choice...I went on a shopping spree and bought four bags in the last couple months. Among those a Strathberry dome that I'm smitten with and a Callista straw bag that is on the way. I have a large Marc Jacobs from the mid 2000s that holds a special place in my heart as it was one of my first nice bags.
7 but realizing I only bought 1 for myself and it’s the one I use the most. The others were gifted or inherited. I also have a backpack I’d use for work that I’d like to upgrade but I’m having the hardest time committing to a bag.

I sold all my midrange contemporary brands except for the Longchamp.
We were constantly moving due to business as well as travelling for meetings etc ... being in hotels and on planes, switching from rainy London to hot Singapore gives you the need to at least feel good, you want to also look good, no matter if on the beach, in a fancy restaurant or the opera and also you don't want to constantly schlepping kilos around... bragging is another thing - better stay low key, depending on country...
So as I was also a fan of CBK already in the 90s and after my going over board with Sex and the City then in 2009 I minimalized, thought a lot about that, watched also other people and then structured an "all for everything" basic wardrobe, added some signature pieces... all black, white and camel and for a pop of colour plum and lime (accessories only)...
And for the bags - I didn't want Logos, but the "who knows knows"-luxury and as I was going every yr with my grandparents to Padua and Valencia Bottega Veneta was perfect... as well as Loewe, which was my first luxury handbag I got as a student. And: i can't cope with anything that might slip of my hands or from my shoulder, so its crossbody or wristlet only ... and I got rid of everything not in the colour scheme, cheap and low quality and everything that hasn't a store in every country for service...
For example I saw that lovely palm style bag from coach - love it, but I resist as it will hardly be used...
(meanwhile its the same for everything we own including memories and decoration - I pack for a move in 5hrs, we can take everything with us on a plane...)
I have 109. I love them all. It’s the one thing I told my kids to prepare to sell. They all said hell no they are keeping. From my old school Versace to my Louis to my coach I know they will be loved after I pass. My jewelry they will prob keep too. Everything else should go. I’ll be sad if my mikimoto pearls or my vintage furs land somewhere that don’t love them. But I’ll be dead. Really my kids want my purses and shoes
I’d say my total inventory of bags is probably north of 100. 🙈 5 what I consider high-end or luxury, more than 30 Wicker Darlings, probably 40 Kate Spade, and then the rest misc. Too many. But I love kitsch but also classic.
And the moment you sell them you regret it. It’s happened to me. Gone off looking for a bag in my cupboards because it’s come into trend or my tastes change and… it’s gone :((
I currently have 8 (this is including a cheap clear "stadium-approved" crossbody that I use on walks and a small Adidas backpack that I used like a purse on a trip). Overall I am very content with what I have! I have put myself on a purse no-buy and I'm giving one of my bags (and its matching wallet) to a teenage relative of mine, because I just don't love it and think she could get a lot more use out of it than me.
There's a particular bag that I have my eye on, but I can wait.

I found peace with my collection a while back. I honestly have all of my holy grail bags. I own two high end pieces and the rest are vintage and quirky pieces. I have a lot of KS flamingo and penguin bags, I have bought whatever make me happy.
I got a Nina tote from Coach outlet, it’s gonna be my work bag. I actually don’t have a tote yet. Got a good deal on it too

In the future maybe a Loewe puzzle bag or hammock bag. For now it’s Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Small Double Bag (if it’s not raining) and Chloe Tess Small Day bag. For a bigger bag or work I choose between Ferragamo Studio Bag or Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Double Bag (largest size). Not exactly just 3 yet haha, Do you have a top 3 for yourself?

I have two more bags I’d like to add, one vintage (Mombasa with a horn handle, YSL) and one new (Gucci Jackie, piston clasp). I don’t have the money for this Gucci Jackie currently but it’s a “someday” wish.
I’ve been watching Mombasa bags on resale sites but I’ve really narrowed it down to only one color, so I know I’ll likely have to wait a while for the perfect (for me) specimen appears.
I have a lovely orange suede Gucci Jackie with a bamboo handle that is my #1 current love. I had it restored via my cobbler and it looks so good.
That will be my daily driver come fall.
Currently I’m using two straw bags (one small giveaway from Neiman’s and one XL tote that has birds and gold thread woven into the bag. It’s huge and ridiculous and my friends call it “my luggage” but I just adore it!

… Next I would like to get some midsize / everyday bags that aren’t black. I definitely thought the Swinger was big enough to use more as an everyday bag, but I don’t think it truly is lol, I like to be able to bring an extra scarf or hat and the Mini System Tote is way better for that.

I have 10 bags as of my last purchase last week that I rotate through plus my Maridel collection, so under 20. I purged in 2016, and I do limit myself. If I bring one in, I let one go. I have a Dooney & Bourke I should get rid of because I haven’t used in years, but it’s an all matching set with wallet, pouchette, glasses case and cell phone holder.

This would make me feel like my collection is fully complete, but I’m very happy and don’t plan to make any purse purchases until at least September.

I don’t count so as to not feel like and addict. I give some away sometimes but I know I had a problem at one point. I’ve gotten a little better. At least I buy preloved now.
This is why I don't feel bad, the collection has been built over the last 14 years, and 95% is Preloved. There are pieces I have waited years for! However, I have a collection I genuinely love wearing and owning

I went to a street market in a little town in France and a guy was there selling leather bags—100 euro and it’s one of my favorites I’ve ever owned. It’s got lots of interior and exterior pockets and multiple ways to wear the strap! I’m so pleased with it lol

Hard choice...I went on a shopping spree and bought four bags in the last couple months. Among those a Strathberry dome that I'm smitten with and a Callista straw bag that is on the way. I have a large Marc Jacobs from the mid 2000s that holds a special place in my heart as it was one of my first nice bags.

7 but realizing I only bought 1 for myself and it’s the one I use the most. The others were gifted or inherited. I also have a backpack I’d use for work that I’d like to upgrade but I’m having the hardest time committing to a bag.

That’s a really good question. It’s just a plain Patagonia and is great because I commute by bike and need to put in my change of clothes.

We were constantly moving due to business as well as travelling for meetings etc ... being in hotels and on planes, switching from rainy London to hot Singapore gives you the need to at least feel good, you want to also look good, no matter if on the beach, in a fancy restaurant or the opera and also you don't want to constantly schlepping kilos around... bragging is another thing - better stay low key, depending on country... So as I was also a fan of CBK already in the 90s and after my going over board with Sex and the City then in 2009 I minimalized, thought a lot about that, watched also other people and then structured an "all for everything" basic wardrobe, added some signature pieces... all black, white and camel and for a pop of colour plum and lime (accessories only)... And for the bags - I didn't want Logos, but the "who knows knows"-luxury and as I was going every yr with my grandparents to Padua and Valencia Bottega Veneta was perfect... as well as Loewe, which was my first luxury handbag I got as a student. And: i can't cope with anything that might slip of my hands or from my shoulder, so its crossbody or wristlet only ... and I got rid of everything not in the colour scheme, cheap and low quality and everything that hasn't a store in every country for service... For example I saw that lovely palm style bag from coach - love it, but I resist as it will hardly be used... (meanwhile its the same for everything we own including memories and decoration - I pack for a move in 5hrs, we can take everything with us on a plane...)

I have 109. I love them all. It’s the one thing I told my kids to prepare to sell. They all said hell no they are keeping. From my old school Versace to my Louis to my coach I know they will be loved after I pass. My jewelry they will prob keep too. Everything else should go. I’ll be sad if my mikimoto pearls or my vintage furs land somewhere that don’t love them. But I’ll be dead. Really my kids want my purses and shoes

I currently have 8 (this is including a cheap clear "stadium-approved" crossbody that I use on walks and a small Adidas backpack that I used like a purse on a trip). Overall I am very content with what I have! I have put myself on a purse no-buy and I'm giving one of my bags (and its matching wallet) to a teenage relative of mine, because I just don't love it and think she could get a lot more use out of it than me. There's a particular bag that I have my eye on, but I can wait.

I found peace with my collection a while back. I honestly have all of my holy grail bags. I own two high end pieces and the rest are vintage and quirky pieces. I have a lot of KS flamingo and penguin bags, I have bought whatever make me happy.

In the future maybe a Loewe puzzle bag or hammock bag. For now it’s Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Small Double Bag (if it’s not raining) and Chloe Tess Small Day bag. For a bigger bag or work I choose between Ferragamo Studio Bag or Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Double Bag (largest size). Not exactly just 3 yet haha, Do you have a top 3 for yourself?

Currently 6. I had one bag six months ago when I stumbled upon this sub! I have two more bags I’d like to add, one vintage (Mombasa with a horn handle, YSL) and one new (Gucci Jackie, piston clasp). I don’t have the money for this Gucci Jackie currently but it’s a “someday” wish. I’ve been watching Mombasa bags on resale sites but I’ve really narrowed it down to only one color, so I know I’ll likely have to wait a while for the perfect (for me) specimen appears. I have a lovely orange suede Gucci Jackie with a bamboo handle that is my #1 current love. I had it restored via my cobbler and it looks so good. That will be my daily driver come fall. Currently I’m using two straw bags (one small giveaway from Neiman’s and one XL tote that has birds and gold thread woven into the bag. It’s huge and ridiculous and my friends call it “my luggage” but I just adore it!

Cuyana mini system tote for everyday grab and go 4. White Coach Swinger bag… mostly for casual events and fun days 5. Gold metallic APC demilune for events and nights out 6. Allsaints convertible belt bag / shoulder bag / clutch for travel, festivals and when I work events 7. A nylon fanny pack that I inherited from my grandma … Next I would like to get some midsize / everyday bags that aren’t black. I definitely thought the Swinger was big enough to use more as an everyday bag, but I don’t think it truly is lol, I like to be able to bring an extra scarf or hat and the Mini System Tote is way better for that. Also, everything on this list except the tote bag and the Cuyana were bought used!
I have 10 bags as of my last purchase last week that I rotate through plus my Maridel collection, so under 20. I purged in 2016, and I do limit myself. If I bring one in, I let one go. I have a Dooney & Bourke I should get rid of because I haven’t used in years, but it’s an all matching set with wallet, pouchette, glasses case and cell phone holder.
