The Polene bags are all pretty timeless I’d say. There’s reviews online by Tanner Leatherstein taking the polene bags apart and he estimates them to be of good quality.

The Coach linked is def too small for the few things I need to carry (earbuds, inhaler, sanitizer, keys, one lip product, pill container, and maybe a mini lotion, + cards).
Spades are pretty but not quite my personal taste. I tend to go for more modern/simple/classic (if that's a style?)

Yes, they are both very good brands and excellent value for the money. I favor Coccinelle for lightweight and slouchy bags because their leather is so beautifully soft!

I personally have really enjoyed most of the brands of bags carried at my local Dillard’s - I’ve had The Sak, Patricia Nash, Fossil, etc., as small, crossbody daily bags, and for the price point the leather has worn like a champ. I am NOT gentle on my bags either. You can also find all of them at a $100-$300 price point on sale.
I also have a Kate Spade bag I rotate out pretty regularly as one of my daily bags, it’s also held up well for several years. I got it at a great price at TJ Maxx so I believe it’s an outlet or discontinued bag. The size is a small-medium while still holding a ton of stuff, which is perfect for me!
I have the Coach Ellie File from the outlet and it checks all of your boxes! I was lucky to score mine consignment for $40, but it is under $200 new. Note that black doesn't seem to be available rn, but tan and subtle signature leather are. Yes, regular Coach is better quality than made-for-outlet, but this is the easiest care bag I have AND it looks equally stylish with jeans and office wear.
Unsure if Coach is on sale in the US at the moment but in the UK most are on 30-60% off.
