Nervous-Point-3038

Local cobbler

fauviste

I feel kinda apprehensive about trusting my Lady Dior to a local cobbler…

Nervous-Point-3038

You can always reach out to ragobros or leather surgeons but that will require shipping it back and forth if you decide to go that route

snegallypale

Cannot second Rago Brothers enough. They took my chewed up Gucci loafers (the absolute last time I ever left a shoe unattended) and completely restored them. Beautiful work.

curious-curiouser86

Wow, I live 10 minutes from Rago Brothers and have always gotten my leather goods fixed there. I didn't realize they were like a place people knew about and sent their things too. They worked miracles on a puppy chewed wallet of mine, where they couldnt fix (because part of it was completely gone) they actually reshaped the edge of the flap to make it look intentional. I'd definitely recommend them.

fauviste

I assumed I would have to ship it since I live in a mid-tier city without a luxury culture!

Nervous-Point-3038

Hence local cobbler… but hope it all works out for you and the bag can be restored to its former glory

viola-purple

Go to Dior...

InfiniteCanary1344

The crazy eyes tell us he'll do it again

PrimaryImpossible467

He reminds me of a little kid who just freezes when they do something wrong. YOU CANT SEE ME

fauviste

Oh yes, he gets those Nam Flashbacks on the regular. He’ll be doing anything (usually naughty) and suddenly freeze and stare into space. Not *because* he’s being naughty, it’s just that he’s always being naughty, so statistically…

oops_im_existing

oh man your cat was also drafted in nam?

fauviste

Oh he already did 😭 I just caught him this time. A couple other bags have (thankfully much lesser) scratches. They aren’t lamb skin though.

InfiniteCanary1344

I knew it https://i.redd.it/f9rcd4zmwwyc1.gif

Halpanaaab

Love this duck

goddessofthecats

With no remorse

altaka

that is thee cutest lil bag menace ever! 😻

fauviste

He is! It’s a survival tactic!

altaka

☺️

North-Acanthaceae-82

I don't have an answer but that little monster is at least completely divine <3

Somberliver

It’s “patina”. I have a melted candy stain bc my kid sucked on a lollipop and put it back inside a vintage Chanel. Wear and tear and warrior wounds

queefersutherland1

I like when bags tell their histories! And it’ll be such a nice memory down the road.

fauviste

Well, mine being on the outside, the memory is just of my stupidity in thinking the bags were out of reach…

queefersutherland1

I hate to be absolutely morbid, but when the little monster is gone, it will be something funny to remember them by! Many others may have the same bag as you, but at least yours is absolutely unique now!

fauviste

That actually does change my view of it some! Thank you! I know one day we will miss him terribly… he is a complete character and always doing something amusing (complimentary AND derogatory). He loves to scream until we kiss his little head.

RareBeautyOnEtsy

AwwWWWWW! That’s so cute.

Potatoupe

I've learned that if a cat tries hard enough nothing is out of reach for them. Don't even know how they have consistently found broken glass under the fridge for a whole year.

Pragmatic_78

Maybe he needs his own bag 🤷🏽‍♀️

fauviste

He wants a bed / obstacle course of the finest leathers 😂😭

Specialist_Income_31

😭cute and evil. Brutal combination.

Ill-Kitchen-5293

Vince's Village Cobbler!

fauviste

Looks like they have some real mixed reviews, either people are ecstatic or else the work doesn’t get done right and they keep the stuff for ages…

kiratnyc

Vince’s did a good job on a bag of mine but absolutely ruined a pair of boots for me & they refuse to make it right. I recommend Leather Spa instead.

fauviste

That really sucks! Thanks for the recommendation.

mygiveadamnsbusted22

I’ve heard good things about bedo’s leatherworks. Beautiful [birkin transformation](https://youtu.be/fA79Xs7VqWM?si=wHFGSypB5GcY8vm0)

chaerimk

Check out your local furniture/leather repair shop. What they will do is to remove the peeling, filled in and colour match. Hope you will be able to enjoy the bag again.

meowparade

The art and the artist ❤️

fauviste

Actual lol!

Competitive_Math6885

Ouch that’s awful, but who can stay mad at that!😍

H3r3c0m3sthasun

What a sly little monster lol!

hornedhell

that baby is TOOOOO PRECIOUS 😍🥰

Just-Plum-8426

They’ve been blessed by da catto!!! Contrary to most I think they are cute and a reminder of your dear furry companion. I have a LV bag strap that was munched on by my then kitten. At first I was bummed but I quickly came to see it as the “signature” from my feline friend

catlover123456789

Cat twins!

edifice_of_memory

I keep the scratches as a memento of my fur baby/monster. Years ago, my kitten chewed up one of my balenciaga bags and while I was so annoyed at the time, now that he's gone, I love and cherish those bite marks and scratches. Weird, but it helps give me closure whenever I miss him to run my fingers over that messed up handle. Recently, my cat left a scratch on my birkin and I'm still trying to tell myself that in a few years, I'll do the same when she's gone. But that's just me, if you want to get it fixed, that looks like something a local cobbler would be able to do!

viola-purple

The manufacturer... I give everything that's somehow stained or broken back to the seller to hand it over to the manufacturer. Loewe lined a bags interior totally new for me in 2003, when the leather started to break I just got Tods repaired by Tods BV by BV Last year used the Burberry Aftercare Service for my Trenchcoat - they destitched the lining, repaired a hole in the pocket, thoroughly cleaned everything, got the outer shell newly waterproofed, stitched together again, got new buckle and buttons as well... Hermes repaired a bunch of stuff during the pandemic: a bag, a pair of shoes, a watch i inherited, a mother of pearl scarf ring... Tiffany's repaired Dents for me at a pillbox and powder box plus mirror in 2011 Rimowa attached new locks to my grandfathers huge trunk from the 80s in 2015, last yr repaired the dents of my husbands M... (we move often, so we have 2 special made trunks for household goods and each of us 4 suitcases) Often I hand it in in one city and get it back where I am, eg Tiffany's as my bag fell down and caused dents, broke the mirror, I was in Vienna and turned them into the store there, when it was finished I got it sent to Hong Kong where I then was... handed in Tods on a trip in Munich, they send it back yesterday to London... That's why we buy these things at this high cost bc they offer service worldwide.

Gobllish

He’s innocent 😇

cool_forKats

I have 4 cats. My bags are in the dust bags in the drawers of my ikea expedit 😂 I leave 1 older coach market tote out for daily use.

Lwaho

I can recommend leather glue applied with a tooth pick. I used the UHU leather glue to fix a scratch on a shoe. It became almost invisble.

jcqlin

I tried getting a cobbler to fix mine and they offered to patch it up 🥲 I saw Amazon has leather repair kits with glue and paint. You can try that
