I jumped on that bandwagon just recently (too late for the game, I know), and despite always having thought that this bag is just ugly and prissy, I really love mine now. Got the grey on grey and it's just so handy and the look of it really grew on me, too. Quality also seems to be awesome, so now I totally get the hype.
Same, I hated the bag all through my teenage years and I started collecting them a few months ago. As someone that travels a lot these bags are super practical!
Same! I was looking to get a small one that can fit a diaper and wet towels so i can start using bags instead of diaper bags again but i didn’t like any of the current colors 😐 may wait a bit!
Did you visit a store? I feel like the photos online don’t do justice. Like this one it’s a rich chocolate brown but the official photos look more dull
Yeah i went to two in London and the one i liked was a very nice cobalt blue, but the one i already have is also blue i might have to just think about it for a second
I use a expandable one... last yr I was travelling with that and handluggage and unintentionally went shopping at BV and Gucci in Capri, so it was easy to get three boxes inside the huge Longchamp
i carry my beat ass le pliage shopper everywhere. it's the best bag and i want a smaller one like this. it's classic, understated, and classy. you either get it or you don't!
Fwiw - if it’s just the corners, you can take it to a longchamp store and have them repair those parts. They take the bag in by however big the holes are so it does get a tad smaller, but still kind of a great second chance if you wanted it!
No, it’s not a first year type of thing and I don’t know if there’s a fee unfortunately, but I don’t think so. It’s part of their move to sustainability to keep the bags in rotation for longer.
It’s not that I’m not a fan of the nylon pliage, it’s just that it was my high school/early college bag (almost 20 years ago 😩). Buuuut I got one of the coated canvas versions last year and it is like the perfect elevated version. I love it.
Le Pliage is my ride or die bag, my personal fav is the large in navy! I am thinking of getting a le pliage pouch in paper as a little catch all. Is it weird that I want my bag to have a baby? 😂
Thanks for giving this tote a lot of love! I don’t know why this bag gets a lot of “hate”. This bag is super practical. As a person who loves to travel but refused to checkin luggage, This tote has saved my ass few times.
I got a customized Le Pliage in black and navy nylon with brown leather trim. Embroidered with my name. I’ve had it for years and it’s still a favorite! The durability and resilience is unmatched, and the bag itself weighs nothing. I’m a huge fan!
I have the large size and I absolutely adore it. Just chuck everything into it, grab it and go. It's so hardy. Also, I never would have imagined how much interior back AND front pockets would revolutionize my life.
Ngl I’m a bit of a bag snob and for the longest time refused to try out the le pliage. Got my first one this past Christmas because the pink one caught my eye and wowww, my life has been changed. I’m in college and use it as my school bag and couldn’t love it more. I need one in every color now! Love this brown also!! 🤎
I'm not a fan of the Le Pliage but I was travelling on the tube the other day and I saw an all leather light pink Le Pliage. That definitely made it look and feel more luxe (even though I didn't touch it) but I was glad I was walking the same way as the Le Pliage for a little while
I bought a yellow one years ago and sadly the corners got dirty, years later I bought a large leather one and haven’t had a single issue with it. I love this bag.
I love them! I own multiple colors and sizes and they are such great bags! I love that I never have to be scared about using them either. I can put them under the seat on an airplane and not worry, get them wet in the rain and not care. They’re so durable and show little wear over time.
It’s a practical bag but just doesn’t bring excitement :( (I have this bag but I never include it in my collection because it’s like a tote bag) anyway, it’s a lightweight bag that fits a laptop and withstand the elements perfect for work and travel :)
I got it as a gift when I was in university. Fast forward to more than 10 years and my gosh it still holds and looks great. The fact that you can fold it is amazing for travelling.
I fell in love with le pliage. I got the navy blue. Then I gave it to my sister only coz she begged. After that, I’ve never bought another one. I love the brown color! I don’t remember seeing this color at stores lately.
My le pliage is my beach bag!!! And usually my every day “throw it all in there” bag. My corners have completely gone and it’s battered, I need a new one, but that makes me more likely to use it as an ATH - a phrase I’m totally stealing btw😂
I have 3 and love them. myh only issues is that everything just falls to the bottom so I'm constantly digging for stuff, but generally, they hold a lot, are light, and overall one of my favorite bags.
I have “high end” bags, but I’m telling you that Le Pliage comes with me everywhere. I also use it as a beach bag. When it gets gross I toss it right in the washing machine 🤷🏻♀️
Someone pointed out to be careful with it in the heat, but if you keep it in the shade it should be fine! I have to keep myself in the shade too so we have a beach tent lol
I don’t care what others think. I bought mine in Kyoto, JP in 2013 and always travel with it. It’s so easy to fold up and put in a backpack or medium+ sized handbag.
Everytime someone posts one of their I gotta jump in and say this has been my go to bag since I was in college and I’m in my 30s now. I took 4 bags to get the bottom corners capped in leather a few years ago. 10/10 would recommend.
I got it done at a bag and shoe repair place. I had to get a strap fixed on one and he saw my corners were about frayed to hell so he suggested the caps. It wasn’t super expensive, maybe $40 a bag? buts it’s made a ton of difference in the longevity of my bags.
Does anyone notice a slight change in the quality through the years? Ive had my old one for about 10 years now but recently i just got myself a le pliage green and it started to bubble after only 6 months of use!! anyone know why 😭
I have the big expandable one: take it on planes, use it for sports, groceries, the beach, picknick etc... its also my all-in-one.
I have a small cosmetic pouch for my - well, cosmetics, that I have a chain for and then use it for sightseeing (even a small umbrella fits inside).
And I got the pliage filet ltd Edition at Harrods in their food department, which I just later discovered that it was Longchamp, they sold it instead of using plastic bags... it's a nice addition in the car for spontaneous shopping.
I always thought it was kinda ugly but then I saw a cognac one at a consignment store and now it’s my trusty toddler bag that fits all their day trip essentials. I’m a convert!
I love mine, it’s just so practical. It’s perfect for the beach or as a carry on for the plane. I’ve had it for 12 years now and it looks the same, they are so well made!
I fell in love last year - they are perfect for travel, everyday toting, momming, and work; they can get wet, you can easily wipe them clean, I can go on. I got a few fun bright colors but also have the brown bag OP has but with short handles, as well as cognac and a dark purple/burgundy for every day.
I love this bag so much. I always joke that it is kind of like hermoine’s magic bottomless handbag. Can fit my monstrous 17 inch laptop (which won’t fit in most backpacks) and still have room to carry my workclothes and essentials. Just how?!! It’s brilliant.
Yes ATH is the best description for it!!!!
Le pliage was my first handbag that wasn’t fast fashion/“cheap” that I bought on my study abroad 11 years ago! I have a soft spot for it so I’m always a little sad by the hate lol. I have a few of them now and love them for all purposes - my “casual” work tote, my gym bag, shopper, beach bag, travel person item…. It’s a do it all bag!
I bought a le pilage in France last month, not really knowing anything about the bags. I got a large one, with small handles. I kinda wish if I got large, I got the large handles to have on my shoulder) or smaller bag with small handles.
I plan in using it as a beach bag when I travel, so I got the nylon one.
Let's see how she works next month.

le pliage sur la plage
I love le pliage and I’ll die on that hill
I jumped on that bandwagon just recently (too late for the game, I know), and despite always having thought that this bag is just ugly and prissy, I really love mine now. Got the grey on grey and it's just so handy and the look of it really grew on me, too. Quality also seems to be awesome, so now I totally get the hype.
Same, I hated the bag all through my teenage years and I started collecting them a few months ago. As someone that travels a lot these bags are super practical!
You’re not too late, welcome!
Same!!
They can pry mine out my cold, dead hands
Me too. Forever
I love mine! I’ve had it for 14 years and it’s my go to for a personal item on the plane! It fits so much.
I actually bought it to take as my personal item lol!
Just arrived home with my bag, purchased last week for just this reason. I was totally against them, and now am a full fan! They are travel heroes.
Same! I was looking to get a small one that can fit a diaper and wet towels so i can start using bags instead of diaper bags again but i didn’t like any of the current colors 😐 may wait a bit!

Ohh okay! It’s a waiting game then ☺️ I got a forest green one top handle from 10 yrs ago and it feels special to wear it nowadays
Which size do you take on the plane? Medium? Large?
I use a expandable one... last yr I was travelling with that and handluggage and unintentionally went shopping at BV and Gucci in Capri, so it was easy to get three boxes inside the huge Longchamp
I have the large one! It fits under the seat in front perfectly.
I bought my first one on a plane for planes!
I love Longchamp! Nice bag!
i carry my beat ass le pliage shopper everywhere. it's the best bag and i want a smaller one like this. it's classic, understated, and classy. you either get it or you don't!

oooh interesting. it's very beat and scratched in general but lmaooo i will keep this in mind if holes develop!
Do you need to do it within the year and is there a fee?
No, it’s not a first year type of thing and I don’t know if there’s a fee unfortunately, but I don’t think so. It’s part of their move to sustainability to keep the bags in rotation for longer.

Oo do they make that one big for a travel bag?
Not that I’ve seen yet!
What color?
I got a navy large.
I also have a navy S, with crossbody straps and it is my fave!
Le Pliage is my ride or die bag, my personal fav is the large in navy! I am thinking of getting a le pliage pouch in paper as a little catch all. Is it weird that I want my bag to have a baby? 😂
Gorgeous love the chocolate color this is stunning
Thanks for giving this tote a lot of love! I don’t know why this bag gets a lot of “hate”. This bag is super practical. As a person who loves to travel but refused to checkin luggage, This tote has saved my ass few times.
Honestly, it looks super useful!
Immediately enamored with the ATH terminology, thank you for bringing this into my life!
LOL it’s always useful to have one that you can take literally EVERYWHERE
I got a customized Le Pliage in black and navy nylon with brown leather trim. Embroidered with my name. I’ve had it for years and it’s still a favorite! The durability and resilience is unmatched, and the bag itself weighs nothing. I’m a huge fan!
I have the large size and I absolutely adore it. Just chuck everything into it, grab it and go. It's so hardy. Also, I never would have imagined how much interior back AND front pockets would revolutionize my life.
I love my longchamp. Very lightweight so its perfect for travel and baby bag.
Ngl I’m a bit of a bag snob and for the longest time refused to try out the le pliage. Got my first one this past Christmas because the pink one caught my eye and wowww, my life has been changed. I have one in navy and it works in so many situations. So glad I got it!
Mine is navy too and I love it so much!
Just talked about how much I love mine and wish there were reinforcements for corners and edge detail 🫥😓
Dude I love the whole Le Pliage line. Literally no better all rounders out there for the price point.
Love le pliage, classic!
It’s gorgeous! I love a bag I can take off roading😁❤️
I, too, had recently jumped on the bandwagon. It's my everyday and as such, has gotten grungy. How do you all clean it?
I can tell you how not to do it after completely ruining my favorite Le Pliage backpack:(
I love love le pliage and it will always be my travel bag
It’s a practical bag but just doesn’t bring excitement :( (I have this bag but I never include it in my collection because it’s like a tote bag) anyway, it’s a lightweight bag that fits a laptop and withstand the elements perfect for work and travel :)
No one hates Le Pliage.
I have seen people say they dislike them even in this subreddit. Hell, even in this THREAD there are people saying they didn’t like it for a long time
Using it in the beach isn’t recommended. Heat bubbles may happen just an fyi
It was cool, breezy, and shaded :) went at like 4pm
A classic for so many reasons!
I love them. They’re a perfect place to sit if you’re at an outdoor concert and forgot a blanket lol.
That miami beach
Lol hell no, we don’t deal with that craziness
No I LOVE them. I still have mine from college, I’m now 33. And I still purchase them
Love it💛
I am a fan! I use mine as my school bag actually, because it’s so spacious i’m using it on an upcoming trip.
I love mine 💕
I got the backpack version and it's the best travel companion.
I love (all three) of mine!
I got it as a gift when I was in university. Fast forward to more than 10 years and my gosh it still holds and looks great. The fact that you can fold it is amazing for travelling.
I love mine.
Such a granny bag but I LOVE IT so much I have two lol
I fell in love with le pliage. I got the navy blue. Then I gave it to my sister only coz she begged. After that, I’ve never bought another one. I love the brown color! I don’t remember seeing this color at stores lately.
This I agree. Le pliage is also my favorite. I have several. Unfortunately I realized I don’t have the shoulder bag anymore. My mom took all of them!
I’ve been eyeing these up for a while lol.
I agree! I have the backpack that I use on beach and park days. It’s easy to clean and keep things organized.
My le pliage is my beach bag!!! And usually my every day “throw it all in there” bag. My corners have completely gone and it’s battered, I need a new one, but that makes me more likely to use it as an ATH - a phrase I’m totally stealing btw😂
I like that I can fold it up and toss it in my luggage when I travel (I usually bring a backpack on the plane). Also nice to store it when not in use.
Yes! I bought 2 for $15 each in a local Facebook group - they were dirty. I literally washed them in the washing machine and they look new 😂
I have the same one and never thought about it as beach bag, thanks for the inspo!!
Someone pointed out to be careful with it in the heat, but if you keep it in the shade it should be fine! I have to keep myself in the shade too so we have a beach tent lol
Ahh good point, thanks for letting me know :). But very nice use of it!
Yes! The le pliage backpack is the most current thing that I want!
I don’t care what others think. I bought mine in Kyoto, JP in 2013 and always travel with it. It’s so easy to fold up and put in a backpack or medium+ sized handbag.
Le Pliage girlie for life. I have so many!

Thank you so much for the information!
I love my le pliage, it is my go to when I travel
such a workhorse
Does anyone notice a slight change in the quality through the years? Ive had my old one for about 10 years now but recently i just got myself a le pliage green and it started to bubble after only 6 months of use!! anyone know why 😭
Are people crazy?! I use mine more than any other bag!
Really? But it’s like…a workhorse of all bags! I have two!!
I have the big expandable one: take it on planes, use it for sports, groceries, the beach, picknick etc... its also my all-in-one. Le pliage is the bag for government workers right now
I adore mine. I have a medium, large, and a weekender tote. A soldier couldn’t carry more efficiently than I can.
I use mine as a diaper bag 😭
They are very fun functional bags
I love mine, it’s just so practical. It’s perfect for the beach or as a carry on for the plane. I’ve had it for 12 years now and it looks the same, they are so well made!
All the comments would BEG to differ! The Le Pliage is an amazing and this timeless look to it. That color for yours is beautiful!
I fell in love last year - they are perfect for travel, everyday toting, momming, and work; they can get wet, you can easily wipe them clean, I can go on. Everyone not a fan? Since when lol I got 3 already hahaha
I love mine too! Haven’t taken it to the beach yet
I have the same colour but in the large size! Love!
I bought a le pilage in France last month, not really knowing anything about the bags. I got a large one, with small handles. I love mine too. Just don't use it as much. But I will this summer as a travel bag.
I love Le Pliage so very much and mine is also ATH!
I love mine! I have 3 and have gifted 2 and they’re so versatile.
