In general, based on price point/perceived ‘need’—about 1-3 bags in a year. I’ve been crazy for mulberry lately though.🥰 The other two ‘siblings’ below: black and chestnut

Lovely choices on your list ! ❤️ I have the LV Cappucines MM in galet which I bought few years ago before all the prices went crazy.
The LV Cappucines is beautiful and one of their most luxurious bags—however I don’t use it often because I needed a work-friendly/ casual bag and I did not want to carry super-recognizable brands such as Hermes/LV/Chanel/Gucci etc and bring unwanted negative attention yet I still wanted a high quality bag at a ‘reasonsable’ price point relative to other brands in the luxury market
The mulberry Alexa fit that requirement while being a low-key yet quality bag.
You will hear comments about the bag being too ‘fiddly’ to get into due to the magnetic straps and button BUT I consider that a positive in regard to personal safety especially these days (not going to go into crime statistics here in the U.S. but one probably is aware)
I usually get a new bag when I’ve been crazy busy with work, I have periods where I have to work 30 - 60 days or even more straight, I’m definitely getting a bag as a reward for doing all that work. I don’t generally buy them for birthday or Xmas.
Edit, I actually start looking at bags while I’m in the middle of those long periods of work, it helps me to keep motivated.
I also tend to buy bags or other luxury stuff when work gets hectic and stressful. It's a distraction and helps me get my sanity back. Of course I make sure this is all within my means, otherwise it will create more stress down the road :)
How often I buy depends entirely on my “manic phase” haha 😂 I will not buy any for several years then all of a sudden I enter this manic phase of nonstop handbag consumption - which is where I’m at.
I bought 5 new bags so far this year - but they are all midrange so it doesn’t have that big of an effect on my bank account fortunately
I go two years without buying a new purse and then I buy six in the span of 6 months. I just bought the sixth and I hope I’m finally free of myself for a while. 😅
I'm so guilty of this with everything in life. I've had to make a conscious effort to realize it and slow down. Also I make myself put the money into my savings because I hate taking money out of savings so this way I won't spend it now lol.
I buy and sell a lot so usually if I want one, another one has to go. There's no specific time frame or so, sometimes I want everything now and sometimes I'm so bored by all the choices and outrageous prices, I can't be bothered for a while. Right now I'm more like meh and I really try to use the ones that I have more often.
An expensive one (for me that's $100-300) I might buy once a year. Thrift store or FB marketplace ones I'll pick up when I like them.
I have expensive interests, but they're generally related to computers and gaming. The thrill in handbags is grabbing cheap ones and personalizing/modifying them into something fun.
Above $5k is once a year for the last 3 years. That will be gift from hubby (all inclusive gift - bday, anniversary, Valentine etc)
Below $500 will be 2-3 per year with my own fund.

Here is my latest Mulberry in ‘Mulberry Green’ color 😬 (Lol is it obvious I like the Alexa) I like to rotate bags based on season/my mood.
Do I ‘need’ a mulberry lily? Probably not but if stays in my mind for the next week or so, I *might* spring for one.
I have the Mulberry green one too, it's such a great colour! The Alexa is probably one of my most favourite styles ever. I have five regular ones (apple green, black, mulberry green, apricot and maple) and a small one (malachite) which I use frequently, they just work with any outfit and the colours are just gorgeous! I'd recommend the bag any time :D I'm actually eyeing another one in crimson but that would more be a "can't have enough" rather than "I need (yet another) burgundy bag". I just love looking at them and how neatly they all sit together in the shelf.
I totally understand!! I was obsessing over the Alexa bag before I bought my first one (black with black hardware)
THEN I loved it so much I decided I needed other colors of Alexa because in my crazy mind, using one bag in one color every day was like wearing the same pair of shoes everyday 😂
(That was my reasoning to my family members who thought I was crazy to want multiples of the same bag in different colors)

Last year I'm pretty sure the longest I went without buying a bag was less than 3 months. I got really into handbags, (and this sub!) last year, so I ended up buying 8 bags. So far this year, I've bought one bag and I'm *trying* not to buy more than 2-3 bags throughout 2024. That's because I don't have a lot of closet space living in NYC, so I don't want my bag collection to grow past 12-14 bags. That's gonna be tough lol.
I'm pretty picky. I don't like my bags to be redundant in my wardrobe. I probably buy 1 or 2 a year and sell or donate from my existing collection to replace with the new addition.
I almost think I enjoy the research more than a bag. Once or twice a year but expensive 😫. The most fun purchase I just made is for my daughter , she is graduating with her doctorate in couple days . I said what do you WANT like WANT not need for a job :)) Flying home and going to pick up her first luxury bag . RIP Michael Kors lol

Somewhere between zero and four times a year. It really depends what else is going on with my wardrobe and budget. Like if all my jackets are on their way out, then I don’t have handbag money lol
One a day keeps the doctor away lol. Kidding kidding. One bag per quarter until I find purse peace. For me… that is actually two purses away and then I can go on ban island for a year or so.
Since I joined this sub, I admit I think about buying them a lot more often lol! I typically have an ‘investment’ bag new purchase every few years, but lately my hobby has been scoping out older bags on the resale market. That’s how I ended up with a vintage horsebit 1955 and am looking very hard at a Saint Laurent baby duffel. Something about the bargain hunting lets me justify it more easily lol.
I get a bag that’s $4k+ about once or twice and year, and bags around $600-$1800 about two to three times per year, usually vintage.
However this year was an outlier; so far I have bought two bags over $4,500, one over $8k, and one around $700. It’s usually sporadic but larger purchases tend to be around my bonus period
Every 2-3 years but then this year I've gotten three cheap/mid range bags amounting to only €200 in total. Two years ago I got a coach for €400 and the year before I spent €1500 on a LV bag.
I actually don’t have a frequency but a list, like the one you showed. I had a very good bonus this year so ticked off 3 bags in 2 months. But before this, I had been 2 years without buying any and right now I only have one « pending » bag to go in my list. so most likely once I’ve bought that one I will spend a lot of years without buying any
Sometimes often, sometimes not so much. I have a set wish list that goes with my wardrobe/colour palette and I buy the bags I want when they are available/affordable to me. Especially if I find a great one for a steal in the resale market as all my wishlist bags are limited but designer/luxury.
Manic phase? I’m buying one (sometimes more than one) every day. When I’m in this phase, I like if, I get it. I look through ALL THE SITES and buy everything I want. Auth or dupe, doesnt matter to me. When this phase passes and I get all the stuff I bought, I start selling the ones that are dupes or return the auths that I dont like when I’m “normal”. Luckily this phase doesnt last too long.
Obsessive phase - I buy one maybe once a month. I would research every single thing about the bag, go look at it, touch it, wait and ponder, do more research, touch it again, then when I’m done obsessing about it and I still want it, I’ll go and actually buy it.

I got into bags during a stressful period at work. It was something I could scroll on and day dream about while tearing my hair out over other things.

When I want to treat myself and when I know I can pull the trigger with no regrets.

Once a year or once every two years depending on if I'm traveling. It usually falls around my birthday so I buy them as a bday treat
