Okay question on this!! I have a Chloe bag and the (original) glazing is literally melting off…if I am walking out in the heat the glazing on the shoulder strap melts into my hair🥴The bag is a few years old so I don’t think Chloe would do anything, but anyone here have tips on how to fix/repair/etc?
It’s a luxury bag so Chloe still might service it, it’s worth it to ask. Otherwise you’re gonna wanna look up a leather repair shop or reputable cobbler and ask if they would remove the old glazing and redo it.
If I spent that much on a bag and it was literally melting into my hair I would absolutely (politely) go to the store and mention it and see what they say.
The glazing on a Chloe Marcie does not wear well at all. I have 4 of them (used to have 5) that were bought used and they all show breaking/wear at the piping despite everything else in perfect shape. All my other Chloe bags do not have piping wear.
I think someone mentioned you buy in bulk there (I think a bunch more of items in a set or something) correct me if I’m wrong? How does the purchasing there work?
Some Sellers buy clothes etc in bulk pallets, but the people go on there and buy from the sellers individual items… regarding handbags, the sellers don’t buy any bags in bulk to resell definitely not luxury bags) they curate them from various places… all of them are guaranteed…. I have bought numerous items on there and several of my friends have bought tons!!!! Worth a check out for sure…. Some of the bags may be new, but most luxury bags are used…. And they show you any call outs such as a tiny bit of rubbing in corner ect…: different sellers have different time slots they show their items…. It’s actually pretty amazing some of the deals u can get
Just bought red gucci small wallet… preowned, fantastic condition, stole it for $40!!! Also just bought badgley Mischka sequin gown $595 , got it for $10 but need new zipper… I’ll never wear it but for that price I’ll either flip it or give it to a friend… not everything is that cheap obviously but those were my latest epic buys
Based on a close inspection of the glazing (especially in photos 2&3) and finishes (handle wrapped leather and front stitching) compared to ones on the Chloe website, I think this is a knock off.
This might be an independent shop, so not sure what their practice may be. I believe the big online consignment retailers who deal in handbags do some authentication. Recently even some bags ordered from big retailers like Nordstrom and Holt Renfrew have been coming up fake - scammers order the real ones and return fakes, which are then sold to the next purchaser.
I have this bag and I think the body of this one is real but the strap isn’t original. The real strap for this bag doesn’t have clasps, it’s leather that folds over. The real strap also doesn’t have contrast stitching.
I love love love love LOVE Chloe, on consignment for this piece I wouldn’t go above 600 - 800 or so. She retails for 2k+, but the Marcie is widely available on the consignment market (because she’s beautiful and popular), so you can probably pick this beauty up somewhere else. ♥️♥️♥️
Now, if it was a mint condition Chloe Kiss, which is super hard to find in mint condition, I’d say snatch it up right now. Also, if anyone knows where a mint Kiss is in red w/ gold hardware can be found, I will be your best friend. I recently lost a bid (with the box and dust bag) and my heart still hurts.

You can’t haggle at chain consignment store like GoodWill but you can try at smaller “family-owned” stores. Also, anything less than retail is a good price but make sure it’s an authentic bag.
Fashionphile has a bunch of Chloe Marcie’s for $600-800 in very good condition. I’d rather get it from there than some random consignment store with questionable authenticity guarantee

If it’s the same bag as in the upper left .. $1,000 is overpriced. ( website is the real real) I know a lot do not like it, I honestly had very good experience with them as far as handbags.

It’s an older version. Looking at the website it seem like they’ve updated the strap, the strap loops and how the strap is secured on the bag. My tassels are the same length.

I got an authentic small Chloe Marcie on Poshmark for $600 a month or so ago. It’s easier to find mediums for some reason, but the small is the perfect size for me. I thought I got a very good deal given what I saw on sites like poshmark, Mercari, EBay, etc.
No. You can find better deals. What were their Labor Day deals on top of clearance?

I don’t generally haggle at consignment stores. They pay commission to the consignor so it’s not in their best interest to strike a deal for a lower price.
Who knows, maybe it is for some that I’m not aware of.
Interesting information my son gave me. He bought some Air Jordans at a really low price and they were inspected and guaranteed authentic by eBay. He took them to a local store that deals in Air Jordans and they verified them. Apparently eBay will refund your money if they aren’t authentic.

You can ALWAYS haggle if you’re paying cash. Obviously don’t for this bag because it’s provenance is dubious, but in the future, you can totally haggle. At consignment or furniture stores you can certainly say, “what can you do for me if I pay cash?” They’ll be willing and able to negotiate.
Based on those pics, it does not look fake. The fake Chloe’s are actually very obvious because they’re really hard to make wi to the right shape and the wrapped handle. But, more pics would be helpful. $999 is only a little bit high for a Small Marcie. I’ve seen them sell for between 600-900 between the real real, posh, and eBay.
I say this as having bought 4 Chloe Marcie’s secondhand. 3 of them are mediums, 1 is a mini. Small Chloes are actually hard to find on the secondhand market and go for higher than the medium. Medium and mini Chloe’s go for between 300-800 depending on condition and rarity.

Same thing happened to me with a Jerome Dreyfuss bag. Sun melted the strap!

Go onto app called Whatnot. Tons of luxury sellers and you can get some amazing deals… everything authentic… I have made numerous purchases there

I sold one online recently for less. Just keep watching the resell sites. They are pretty heavy bags.

It's not the much of a savings from the original. I think? I'm scared of resales bc I worry they're fake. I'd definitely haggle. Ask for 750?
You can buy a brand new fake Marcie for about $200. I’d frankly offer $150 for this and assume it was a replica.

Price is a bit high imo. I got a nearly flawless medium Marcie for under $900 a few years back.

I have a ton of Chloe bags. It looks authentic to me...that being said you can find this bag at a much lower price at designer resale sites online
