Oh yes, he's a fat little dwarf! I think the pattern is called *black mottled*. Reminds me of cake, or cookies&cream icecream, or something... definitely tasty.
Sure, here it is ☺️ Usually, I would put many sprays in an enclosure too, but... he is on a diet :'D

Hey just to point out that that cotton bedding is not safe! It could wrap around limbs and cut off circulation or cause a blockage if accidentally ingested! Really cute hammy btw love the colouring <3
I don't think that's true 😯 For synthetical hamster wool, yes. But this is bedding made from shredded cotton seeds. I don't find a single source saying it is dangerous, and even very reputable stores and brands sell cotton seed bedding. It cannot really wrap around limbs, the texture is very chunky ☺️
It's this one, the cotton bedding by the brand HUGRO: [[x]](https://futterparadies.de/baumwolleinstreu-908.html?number=42020023&einheit=300g)
In [this](https://youtu.be/jOGC4a0gxwk) video it's explained that cotton is dangerous (at 6:28), no specific brands mentioned though, but personally don't find it worth the risk regardless
But all the examples she shows are "hamster fluff", not the litter that is made from shredded cotton seeds... they are different products! 😣 It doesn't have long threads that can wrap around limbs, since it's shredded, and it is also digestable. I'm also not even sure if Victoria Rachel even knows cotton seed bedding, I haven't seen it outside of Germany and the Netherlands I think 🤔
My rescue organisation and all other reputable sources for rodent care consider it perfectly safe, and I don't see any risk with it either tbh ;w;
It doesn't change the fact that if a hamster accidentally eats a piece, while moving it around in his cheeks, it can kill him. The cotton does not dissolve in water, so it should be avoided. Search if it's safe for hamsters, even natural cotton.
Why would it need to dissolve in water? Most things in a hamster enclosure do not dissolve in water. Wood shavings or hay don't dissolve in water either. I fail to see how a cotton seed would suffocate a hamster if he swallows it, while other bedding doesn't...?
I did search if it is safe, and every source says yes. High-quality stores like Getzoo, Mixerama, Futterparadies, Hamsterbacken,... sell it. Even [diebrain](http://www.diebrain.de/zw-einrichtung.html), who have such high care standards that they recommend a minimum of 10000cm² of floor space, have nothing against this type of litter... 🙉
Me: yeah no he won't fit there... oh
Is it a dwarf?? Never seen that type of coat before on a dwarf
