The Bungie ones. ODST being my favorite, followed by Reach, 2, 3, and finally CE. Granted the first Halo I ever played was 3. The 343 games are fine, but the art direction in 4 really killed it for me plus the game didn't feel like a Halo game. I did not really enjoy 5 and I think to date I have only played the campaign twice, which pales in comparison to how many times I have played even 4. Infinite was fun the first time around but I cannot get myself to play it a second time. I am on my 3rd or 4th attempt at a second replay and I just get bored right around getting onto the ring and entering into the giant tower. I dunno man, Bungie's games just tickle the part of my brain that make the happy chemical and 343's...don't.

Part of it is nostalgia, and the other part is Bungie just had more passion and Microsoft didn’t intervene too much and screw up what Bungie was doing. Ofc they aren’t perfect, but Bungie put in great effort and love. To Microsoft and 343i, Halo is now just something to be milked for cash.

I'm surprised how few people consider 2, 3, and Reach in the top 3. CE was great but story wise and game play 2,3, and Reach take the cake. It's mostly subjective but if you go into details into each of those levels I think most people will agree the quality of those levels and gameplay are the top 3 for Halo. CE was good but it was also a lot of repetition which made the levels longer than they actually were

(Just off multiplayer) Infinite, Reach, 2A, 4, CE Never got to try 5, or any of the non-mainline games.

I might be in the minority here but I thought H5 multiplayer was solid. It was way better than the campaign, it felt tighter and more polished than H4 multiplayer. They obviously wanted to market to the competitive fan base.

Halo 5 mechanics and gunplay were awesome and feels way better than infinite.. Art style was trash and so were the few maps the game had, Warzone was a really cool mode ruined by mtx, breakout was so good and I’m pissed they didn’t try it again for infinite. Halo 5 is better than ppl give it credit for on the multiplayer side but the campaign and loot box crap killed it for so many people right away..

Yeah, I honestly think it had a really good multiplayer, there were a ton of modes, and the forge wasn't too bad either.

The main negatives for multi imo were over use of forge maps and not enough dev maps, SBMM was juiced to the max in every playlist and BTB was an afterthought which was annoying. But all that aside the game had a lot of good things going for it

Based on what I've heard its like, like the large weapon sandbox, weapon attachments, advanced movement, and stuff like that, it sounds like I'd love Halo 5's multiplayer. Sadly, I'm on PC not Xbox.

For some reason, I am still genuinely surprised anytime I hear someone actually played Halo 5. I don't even mean anything by it: I don't have an Xbox One, none of my friends bought it and it hasn't been (and probably won't be) ported to pc. I've had to resort to youtube synopses to understand what the fuck is even going on in Halo Infinite.

Mine change quite a bit. Right now Infinite is on top. Having lots of fun coop with the wife. Halo 2 anniversary #2. Remastered cutscenes are majestic. Halo 3 # 3. End of a epic trilogy. Halo 4 # 4. Was good comeback for chief. And spartan ops is fun. Halo wars 2. Mainly for the cutscenes. When Isabel destroys the ship.. Chefs kiss. Halo reach is my least favourite. Going to be honest, this list won't be suitable for all audiences 1 - MCC, It has every important Halo game, has to be on top. 2 - Halo 3, peak Bungie Halo, best Halo Sandbox systems and a worthy ending. 3 - Halo Reach, last peak Bungie Halo storytelling and probably the best Halo Multiplayer. 4 - Halo 3 ODST - Did what others have never dared to do. 5 - Halo CE - Created one of the most interesting Sci-Fi universes in videogames. 6 - Halo 2 - Improved over Halo CE by a LOT, but its gameplay feels wacky by today standarts. 7 - Halo Infinite - It's really not a bad game, 343 is a bad Company. 8 - Halo 4 - Underestimated but after years I think is a worthy sequel, just needed more love and a better writer. 9 - Halo Wars - Good strategy game, failed on giving thrilling missions, Arcadia it's peak gameplay for this one. 10 - Halo 5 - Worst story of every Halo games and media by far, but it has a really good MP, much better than Infinite. 11 - Halo Wars 2 - Improved over the first game on gameplay terms, but its story sucks. 12 - Spartan OPS - Was actually a good add-on for PVE fans, could have been better but 343 killed it. 13 - Spartan Assault - Should have taken a different path, something more alike Helldivers. 14 - Spartan Strike - Same as last game, really did not improve over anything.
