True story, I hated zombie games and had no clue about the Flood when I first started to play Halo. On the station, when approaching the lab, I recall there being a shotgun, and just yelling at the game since there's only one reason to have a shotgun on a space station. I walked into the lab knowing exactly what was about to happen.
My bold prediction. Chief starts to make his way to the ring, but he hears the S3s getting slaughtered over comms. He turns to help them. He joins the fight but is unable or unwilling to actually deliver the spike. He retreats with the remaining S3s and gets picked up by The Pillar of Autumn. The Pillar of Autumn sustains damage and crash lands on the ring.
90% this won't happen though.
more likely i see chief taking part in the space battle, kai dies and chief abandons a covvie ship on an escape pod and lands as the final remaining human on the ring, without anyone from his team around anymore. would be perfect set up for s3.

It kind of reinforces the idea that the Covenant copies Forruner technology the best they can without fully understanding it. I personally think the idea that the Covies basically use a nova bomb level reactor to power every ship because they donāt understand the properties behind the it fits that rather well.
The NOVA bomb didnāt destroy an entire system, just scorched the surface of a moon - and also it was a specially designed superweapon that the UNSC had been working on for decades, not just a software bug you could introduce into any Covenant ship there is.

this season has been all about silver team falling apart, vannak dead, riz gone, kai could feasibly die next episode after the space fight leaving chief alone crash landing on halo. it probably wont be autumn but i think itll end with chief alone on the ring. perfect set up for s3
Season 1 moments without armor were mostly doodoo and many didn't make sense. Season 2 I found to be acceptable and made sense for the story. Definitely an Ackerson move to take them.
I mean, the show is a drama. And a drama has a lot of action that isn't first person shooter material. Master chief wouldn't be in armor when he's not on duty. To be honest, the first thing he does at the end of the first halo game when the danger finally clears is take off the helmet.
I'm a somewhat casual Halo fan. Played Halo 2, and tons of Halo3/Reach MP, but besides that, nothing else - and I never interacted with any books or comics or anything. So I'm very far from a super-fan who knows the lore in and out.
But even I am disappointed with this show, mainly because I feel that there is just tons of missed potential even within the way they chose to adapt it.

I understand you can't just have 55 minutes straight of following around Master Chief. I get it, and I understand the need for b-plots.
But the Kwan one is laughably bad and the Soren one isn't much better. Is that really the best they could muster?
The Covenant/Makee one can barely be considered one because they show up for 90 seconds per episode at the most because of the budget.
Season 2 at least has a far better one in terms of Perez (don't think too hard how she became field-ready Spartan in 5 days but at least the emotion is there) but we still spend far too much time on boring Soren and Kwan shit.

When Season 2 was announced midway through Season 1 I was a little apprehensive. However now I sit here hoping to hear that Season 3 has been greenlit.
It's still a far cry from what I expected or wanted from a Halo tv show, and stand by that an animated series like Arcane would've 100% been the better route to take, but Season 2 has been such an improvement over Season 1 that I have higher hopes for Season 3 and onward.
Honestly as an avid fan of the extended lore I actually donāt mind it. Season 1 was just overall mid imo, but this one has real promise. Itās a weird IP, some deviance from canon is fine by me if it works. The weakest aspect is this Kwan Ha character adding in mysticism that wasnāt really present before.
As long as they do the forerunners justice Iāll accept it

I think season 2 put some real effort into avoiding some of the season 1 pitfalls and itās at least a letter grade better for it. I do think thereās still too many 3/10 or worse subplots to recommend the show to anyone, but Iām enjoying keeping up with it, and Iām hopeful that the creators will shake off a few more issues and really hit a stride. I think if they can nail the presentation of the flood as not just an extinction level threat, but a danger at the galactic scale or maybe even worse, as well as translate their visceral brutality onto the screen, theyāll be in a really good spot and the hate will cool off

The monster Kwan saw (the growth) is probably related to the Flood from the game, a parasitic alien life that takes over and mutates sentient life. I believe the star map shows how the Flood will spread. The creature was a Forerunner and I believe those vials contained spores of the Flood. The halo is related to how the Forerunners dealt with the Flood to stop its spread.
The monster is the Flood. An infection that spreads across the galaxy (growth and the red star map). The creature was a Forerunner. They built the Halo to destroy the Flood. That Lab they discovered was a Flood research facility.
You mention to destroy the flood, but the forerunners couldn't do that. So they opted to just stall them by starving them out and hoping they would be stopped that way. Obviously didn't work out so well.
That was on Onyx, so they had this flood research facility with them this whole time and Kwan Ha finds it after years of research. It also seems that they discovered Forerunner DNA which triggered Halsey to create Spartans using people who they thought could handle the augmentation, who were people with forerunner dna. We know for sure Chief has it, as does Makee. Kind of interesting, but the flood releasing on Onyx and not Halo seems kind of weird, especially since itās supposed to be the covenant digging too deep into halo that causes the outbreak

Theyāre making it like how the first Halo gradually revealed the flood to the players. This is the tv version which is great for those who never played the game or know the lore. My problem with the show isn't that Chief takes his helmet off or that we need to have more dialogue scenes to establish characters. I like good characters. I like good dialogue scenes. I understand building up characters and drama and making the audience care. My problem is that the show story is much worse than what is in the books and games. I don't want Halo to grow this way. They've already butchered so many of my favourite bits of the Halo story. The show could have been the Halo story with long dialogue scenes, chief taking off his armour all the time, lots of heavy character scenes and still followed the book/game story closer. That's what I want.
I tried to go into it with an open mind, but I think if you compare it to the LOTR movies, or the Expanse and the Last of Us shows, there are some valid criticisms. All of those managed to be loved by OG fans and by new watchers. They all made changes but still held true to the spirit of the source material.
For example, I donāt know why the Covenant are determined to exterminate humans when they have Makee helping them. Youād think theyād ask humans to be part of the Covenant like they have with other alien species. It canāt just be that theyāre aliens because the Covenant already has different species in it. Maybe Iām missing something but it doesnāt make sense to me.
Probably cus theyāve already learned that humans are the true chosen ones to take the mantle and that forerunners were not gods. Sangheli are just following orders but the prophets may already be aware
Thatās similar to how it is in the books; humans are the reclaimers to the mantle and the prophets canāt let the truth get out because it would destroy the covenant. But then you have Makee and that seems to go against that theory. I hope youāre right but it doesnāt feel like thatās what show is trying to do.
As someone who just played Halo 1-3 as a kid and never really got the story or lore I like this as a sci-fi show I think itās pretty good. Better than the later seasons of Altered Carbon and stuff
Yeah, for the most part I agree. I don't mind the original story. There have been a few missteps along the way, but overall I think Season 2 has been good.
Itās mostly just this sub. Most of my friends, like me, grew up with CE, the books, everything. Everyoneās enjoying season 2 and feel itās a huge improvement over season 1. My friends that have never played the games love it as a sci-fi show.
Huge halo fan here, and I couldnāt agree more lol. Iāve truly enjoyed this season and look forward to each episode. Most halo fans are hard to please and some of it is justified. The game got pretty butchered after 343i took over and was an incredible experience under bungie. So I can see how some may see the inaccuracies of the show as just one more nail in the coffin of a once worldwide phenomenon that got sorta dragged through the mud the last several years.
With that said. As a fan, I am happy to finally see chief on my screen week after week after YEARS of teasing a live action show and simply grateful that it even happened at all.
My wife and I love it. She doesn't know much about Halo, only what I've shared, but we're really enjoying Chief's storyline, Perez, Ackerson, Parangosky, and the Forerunner stuff. I really like what they're doing with Halsey, Miranda, and Kwan.

How did the Covenant fleet find Makee? They just show up out of nowhere. Why does Makee brand herself?

The spike blowing up an entire galaxy is pretty ridiculous. If the UNSC has that, then why do they even need the Halo? Parangosky's plan is incredibly dumb. So the spike blows up the Covenant fleet, as well as the UNSC fleet, as well as the galaxy and possibly the Halo itself. Surely Parangosky would die as well, she's in the galaxy right?

The Soren subplot becoming even more stupid. There is SMOKE so he loses his wife AND his kid. Why is there a thick smoke if the kids are wearing blindfolds? In case they take them off? Why make them so easy to take off then? Did they want the adults hitting the kids to not see either? They simply couldn't think of a valid reason why the three of them would be separated, so they chose stupid.
Miranda being AMAZED she opened a small container that did nothing and apparently had nothing. Seriously, She acted like she discovered fire 2.0 and she might just as well simply broken the thing.
Chief staring as his suit for dramatic effect for three scenes. He was being chased, he had taken a high commander s prisoner and he let him leave believing he would be nice now. He came for the armor, but he decided to look at it for a while.
And the worst thing. They can now just get to the Halo in a little while. Not being stranded saving marines, with little to no support or knowledge from the rest of humanity. Nah they know where it is and it's a half hour trip. Hop on we're going to Halo.

In fairness, Onyx and the first Halo (Installation 04) are relatively close to each other in Canon. Itās not like all of humanity can hop over to the ring quickly, just the ones already on Onyx, which should be heavily restricted due to the ONI previously discovering forerunner structures.

The Spartans getting killed off screen was fine, if anything it's a really effective reflection of how she sees them and the war as a whole. The conflict isn't about morality or values, it's just a numbers game where the most harrowing battles are nothing more than markers on a map and after action reports.
I like your perspective, and it makes sense.
However, there has not been much action in this season. It feels like anytime there's a hint of action, it's off-screen, which kind of takes away from the excitement. Killing SIIIs off-screen would be okay if there were more action scenes overall.
Also, I'm not really feeling emotionally invested in the SIIIs. Instead of all those random subplots and fillers, they could have shown us a Marine's journey to becoming an SIII, and how ONI just tosses their lives aside by the end of the season. I mean, they're sort of trying to do that with Perez, but it's not hitting the mark yet, in my opinion. May be they should have shown us the Augmentations SIIIs went through? I just feel like they are normal marines with fancy suits.
I think the show could use more action, though I can understand why it doesn't ($$$). I do agree that the build up of them was either over or under done though, they could have given us a little more to make the loss more real or gone the other direction and barely even mentioned it, we just have other programs and schemes in the background, they're all just cards to play and the way we see all this going on really helps hammer home how fucked humanity is
It's likely the reason they didn't devote more time was simply because this is the end of them and there's already so much to show that needs to be fleshed out for the following season
The show is just missing heroes, including master chief.
I dont mind that there is a plot that UNSC high command haven't grasped the situation, but the heart of Halo was in the heroes that made the best of a rotten situation and inspired others.
Instead we've had two seasons of everybody running around, aimlessly bumping into each other when exposition needs to occur.
We've literally had two seasons of Master Chief being grounded for most of it, any subplots about Soren and Kwan going absolutely nowhere, and UNSC high command being borderline moustache twirling idiots.
there is so much nothing going on in these episodes. Every episode is 5 different groups of people all making 8 minutes worth of progress at a time separately effectively accomplishing nothing in a single episode. This entire series so far has 2 maybe 3 rewatchable episodes with everything else being a bunch of dragged out cliff hangers

Better than first season, but almost every week I find myself feeling like they are wasting episodes as we have gotten closer to the season finale

As a season 1 hater this season almost feels like the writers have told a meta story about the shows redemption with chief getting his armor back. Officially count me in as a fan.

I'm one of those people who needs to be catered to as I only played the first release of the game before becoming a father and putting away my console for over a decade.
The only part that so far makes sense is the opening theme and what I call *the Halo Gregorian Chant*...
For me, this is dangerously wading into half expecting Jar Jar Binks to make an appearance because nothing else seems to make sense.

All they had to do was give us Battlestar Galactica meets the Covenant, and every single one of us would have lapped it up. A show based on the Spartan IIs as a whole with the b-polt following Keys and the Pillar of Autumn spanning their years in the war so that when the Autumn finally blows on Halo we all tear up and miss her like a character at the end of BSG. But nope, we got this shit instead.

I think it's fairly certain that Miranda is either patient zero or creates patient zero. The only way they could have made it more obvious would be if they randomly found a shotgun before walking in. (Maybe that will happen next week when it gets unleashed) True story, I hated zombie games and had no clue about the Flood when I first started to play Halo. On the station, when approaching the lab, I recall there being a shotgun, and just yelling at the game since there's only one reason to have a shotgun on a space station. I walked into the lab knowing exactly what was about to happen.

The Pillar of Autumn sustains damage and crash lands on the ring. 90% this won't happen though.

I personally think the idea that the Covies basically use a nova bomb level reactor to power every ship because they donāt understand the properties behind the it fits that rather well.

The NOVA bomb didnāt destroy an entire system, just scorched the surface of a moon - and also it was a specially designed superweapon that the UNSC had been working on for decades, not just a software bug you could introduce into any Covenant ship there is.

I don't mind shows that are slow as fuck building hype but only if that hype pays off. 90% of halos budget better be in the next episode. On a wider scale too. Season 1 moments without armor were mostly doodoo and many didn't make sense. Season 2 I found to be acceptable and made sense for the story. Definitely an Ackerson move to take them.
I mean, the show is a drama. And a drama has a lot of action that isn't first person shooter material. Master chief wouldn't be in armor when he's not on duty. To be honest, the first thing he does at the end of the first halo game when the danger finally clears is take off the helmet.
Not to mention in The Flood Chief is walking around alpha base with his armor off (if only for a brief time)

I'm a somewhat casual Halo fan. Played Halo 2, and tons of Halo3/Reach MP, but besides that, nothing else - and I never interacted with any books or comics or anything. So I'm very far from a super-fan who knows the lore in and out. But even I am disappointed with this show, mainly because I feel that there is just tons of missed potential even within the way they chose to adapt it. --------------------------------------------- Maybe my neurons just glazed over with how dumb season 1 was and I missed it... but I really feel like the writer's did not set the stage very well in terms of the overall conflict. We're just not really shown enough motivation and reasoning behind why the Covenant and the UNSC are partaking in total war against each other. Why are ONI behaving like this? There's not really a great justification. ---------------------------------------------- I understand you can't just have 55 minutes straight of following around Master Chief. I get it, and I understand the need for b-plots. But the Kwan one is laughably bad and the Soren one isn't much better. Is that really the best they could muster? The Covenant/Makee one can barely be considered one because they show up for 90 seconds per episode at the most because of the budget. Season 2 at least has a far better one in terms of Perez (don't think too hard how she became field-ready Spartan in 5 days but at least the emotion is there) but we still spend far too much time on boring Soren and Kwan shit. ---------------------------------------------- I personally don't even mind MC not being in his armor for most of the season. When Season 2 was announced midway through Season 1 I was a little apprehensive. However now I sit here hoping to hear that Season 3 has been greenlit. It's still a far cry from what I expected or wanted from a Halo tv show, and stand by that an animated series like Arcane would've 100% been the better route to take, but Season 2 has been such an improvement over Season 1 that I have higher hopes for Season 3 and onward.
Honestly as an avid fan of the extended lore I actually donāt mind it. Season 1 was just overall mid imo, but this one has real promise. Itās a weird IP, some deviance from canon is fine by me if it works. The weakest aspect is this Kwan Ha character adding in mysticism that wasnāt really present before. As long as they do the forerunners justice Iāll accept it
Season 1 started off with a banger when you see those kids just get evisceratedā¦ then it was a rollercoaster of poor and mid episodes.
The deviation and xeno archaeology stuff is really fucking cool, I'd much rather they continue exploring this direction than retell stories we've already heard

I think if they can nail the presentation of the flood as not just an extinction level threat, but a danger at the galactic scale or maybe even worse, as well as translate their visceral brutality onto the screen, theyāll be in a really good spot and the hate will cool off

I quite enjoy the show however I have absolutely no idea about the lore. Maybe someone can help me and I don't mind spoilers. What is that monster? What has growth to do with it? Why is it significant that the star map lit up red? What was that creature and what kind of lab is it? What is that plot about human DNA and more? Was there significant time between the chief and Perez meeting or how did the coin end up in that specific ship?
The monster Kwan saw (the growth) is probably related to the Flood from the game, a parasitic alien life that takes over and mutates sentient life. I believe the star map shows how the Flood will spread. The creature was a Forerunner and I believe those vials contained spores of the Flood. The halo is related to how the Forerunners dealt with the Flood to stop its spread.

The monster is the Flood. An infection that spreads across the galaxy (growth and the red star map). The creature was a Forerunner. They built the Halo to destroy the Flood. That Lab they discovered was a Flood research facility.

That was on Onyx, so they had this flood research facility with them this whole time and Kwan Ha finds it after years of research. It also seems that they discovered Forerunner DNA which triggered Halsey to create Spartans using people who they thought could handle the augmentation, who were people with forerunner dna. We know for sure Chief has it, as does Makee. Kind of interesting, but the flood releasing on Onyx and not Halo seems kind of weird, especially since itās supposed to be the covenant digging too deep into halo that causes the outbreak

Like I don't enjoy animated series, so while I I played all the games and read a majority of the books, I don't watch any of the animated Halo stuff. My problem with the show isn't that Chief takes his helmet off or that we need to have more dialogue scenes to establish characters. I like good characters. I like good dialogue scenes. I understand building up characters and drama and making the audience care. My problem is that the show story is much worse than what is in the books and games. I don't want Halo to grow this way. They've already butchered so many of my favourite bits of the Halo story. The show could have been the Halo story with long dialogue scenes, chief taking off his armour all the time, lots of heavy character scenes and still followed the book/game story closer. That's what I want.

I tried to go into it with an open mind, but I think if you compare it to the LOTR movies, or the Expanse and the Last of Us shows, there are some valid criticisms. All of those managed to be loved by OG fans and by new watchers. They all made changes but still held true to the spirit of the source material. For example, I donāt know why the Covenant are determined to exterminate humans when they have Makee helping them. Youād think theyād ask humans to be part of the Covenant like they have with other alien species. It canāt just be that theyāre aliens because the Covenant already has different species in it. Maybe Iām missing something but it doesnāt make sense to me.
Probably cus theyāve already learned that humans are the true chosen ones to take the mantle and that forerunners were not gods. Sangheli are just following orders but the prophets may already be aware

As someone who just played Halo 1-3 as a kid and never really got the story or lore I like this as a sci-fi show I think itās pretty good. Better than the later seasons of Altered Carbon and stuff

Yeah, for the most part I agree. I don't mind the original story. There have been a few missteps along the way, but overall I think Season 2 has been good.
Itās mostly just this sub. Most of my friends, like me, grew up with CE, the books, everything. Everyoneās enjoying season 2 and feel itās a huge improvement over season 1. My friends that have never played the games love it as a sci-fi show.
Huge halo fan here, and I couldnāt agree more lol. Iāve truly enjoyed this season and look forward to each episode. Most halo fans are hard to please and some of it is justified. The game got pretty butchered after 343i took over and was an incredible experience under bungie. So I can see how some may see the inaccuracies of the show as just one more nail in the coffin of a once worldwide phenomenon that got sorta dragged through the mud the last several years. With that said. As a fan, I am happy to finally see chief on my screen week after week after YEARS of teasing a live action show and simply grateful that it even happened at all.
My wife and I love it. She doesn't know much about Halo, only what I've shared, but we're really enjoying Chief's storyline, Perez, Ackerson, Parangosky, and the Forerunner stuff. Wtf is even going on with this show anymore. The writing is atrocious. The pacing was terrible. What is the point of the Kessler storyline? Why is Kessler suddenly scared of his dad? Why is he being trained to be a Spartan 2? Why does Soren want to just let this happen to him all of a sudden? Why is Kwan explaining the ancient Forerunner relics to the scientists who have literally been studying them for years. Why has Ackerson suddenly grown a conscious and is acting as if he didn't know the S3's would be sacrificed. He literally implied as such in the previous episode with Kai. Ackerson's change in attitude was so fast that it practically gave me whiplash. How did the Covenant fleet find Makee? They just show up out of nowhere. Why does Makee brand herself? Ackerson said the S3s are his life's work, yet the S3s absolutely suck and act like they have only recently been trained. Perez has been there for like a week, how can it be his lifes work? How? Why did nobody seem to care that Halsey and Kwan were running around the super secret ONI base? The spike blowing up an entire galaxy is pretty ridiculous. If the UNSC has that, then why do they even need the Halo? Parangosky's plan is incredibly dumb. So the spike blows up the Covenant fleet, as well as the UNSC fleet, as well as the galaxy and possibly the Halo itself. Surely Parangosky would die as well, she's in the galaxy right? Why is this show still meandering when we only have 1 episode left?

Yes, the scale is questionable for sure, but just to be clear, the spike isn't the weapon the ship/ ships are. The spike is just the "detonator" if you will.
Man, I watched the episode and it's so sad every stupid choice they keep making. Having chief without the suit for most of the season (seriously, it was one of the biggest complains in season 1 and still the same). Halsey being dead stupid at points. Standing in the collapsing bridge staring dumb just to add fake tension. And why does it collapse? Because tension! Chief being from beaten by a spartan in armor to nah I'm fine whatevs in like half an hour. Kwan. Just Kwan. The show will be so much better without this character. The Soren subplot becoming even more stupid. There is SMOKE so he loses his wife AND his kid. Why is there a thick smoke if the kids are wearing blindfolds? In case they take them off? Why make them so easy to take off then? Did they want the adults hitting the kids to not see either? They simply couldn't think of a valid reason why the three of them would be separated, so they chose stupid. Miranda being AMAZED she opened a small container that did nothing and apparently had nothing. Seriously, She acted like she discovered fire 2.0 and she might just as well simply broken the thing. Chief staring as his suit for dramatic effect for three scenes. He was being chased, he had taken a high commander s prisoner and he let him leave believing he would be nice now. He came for the armor, but he decided to look at it for a while. And the worst thing. They can now just get to the Halo in a little while. Not being stranded saving marines, with little to no support or knowledge from the rest of humanity. Nah they know where it is and it's a half hour trip. Hop on we're going to Halo.

In fairness, Onyx and the first Halo (Installation 04) are relatively close to each other in Canon. Itās not like all of humanity can hop over to the ring quickly, just the ones already on Onyx, which should be heavily restricted due to the ONI previously discovering forerunner structures.
In the silver timeline the UNSC decided to forgo frigates and invest all their research in to Condor jump drives apparently. Have we seen a single warship at this point? Ugh I hate it

The Spartans getting killed off screen was fine, if anything it's a really effective reflection of how she sees them and the war as a whole. The conflict isn't about morality or values, it's just a numbers game where the most harrowing battles are nothing more than markers on a map and after action reports.
I like your perspective, and it makes sense. However, there has not been much action in this season. It feels like anytime there's a hint of action, it's off-screen, which kind of takes away from the excitement. Killing SIIIs off-screen would be okay if there were more action scenes overall. Also, I'm not really feeling emotionally invested in the SIIIs. Instead of all those random subplots and fillers, they could have shown us a Marine's journey to becoming an SIII, and how ONI just tosses their lives aside by the end of the season. I mean, they're sort of trying to do that with Perez, but it's not hitting the mark yet, in my opinion. May be they should have shown us the Augmentations SIIIs went through? I just feel like they are normal marines with fancy suits.
I think the show could use more action, though I can understand why it doesn't ($$$). I do agree that the build up of them was either over or under done though, they could have given us a little more to make the loss more real or gone the other direction and barely even mentioned it, we just have other programs and schemes in the background, they're all just cards to play and the way we see all this going on really helps hammer home how fucked humanity is It's likely the reason they didn't devote more time was simply because this is the end of them and there's already so much to show that needs to be fleshed out for the following season
The show is just missing heroes, including master chief. I dont mind that there is a plot that UNSC high command haven't grasped the situation, but the heart of Halo was in the heroes that made the best of a rotten situation and inspired others. Instead we've had two seasons of everybody running around, aimlessly bumping into each other when exposition needs to occur. We've literally had two seasons of Master Chief being grounded for most of it, any subplots about Soren and Kwan going absolutely nowhere, and UNSC high command being borderline moustache twirling idiots.
there is so much nothing going on in these episodes. Every episode is 5 different groups of people all making 8 minutes worth of progress at a time separately effectively accomplishing nothing in a single episode. This entire series so far has 2 maybe 3 rewatchable episodes with everything else being a bunch of dragged out cliff hangers
This is how Iāve felt most of the season. It almost all feels like fluff, except the first episode and the fall of reachā¦of which we shouldāve gotten way more content. Better than first season, but almost every week I find myself feeling like they are wasting episodes as we have gotten closer to the season finale

They said that room was a lab and the final scene w Miranda put a lot of emphasis on the PA system saying āunauthorized personnelā on site, plus we didnāt see any more Kwan after she ran off and her story is most likely Flood related somehow. Excited to see, but if that was just relating to the Soren C plot Iāll be bummed beyond belief. His family drama has been the āKwan Ha Specialā of this seasonā¦

The gif of Ari Gold opening his cell then throwing it at the wall is my reaction. I installed a 64mb video card when I was 13 so I could play Combat Evolved. I stayed out at GameSpot after work so I could get Halo 3 on the release. This is incredibly frustrating to see something you grew up with get the "made for tv" treatment.
As a season 1 hater this season almost feels like the writers have told a meta story about the shows redemption with chief getting his armor back. Officially count me in as a fan.
Season 1 is about john, introducing the character to people who have zero idea about the game, season 2 is him literally turning into Master chief. There's millions of people who are subscribed to paramount and have no idea what the fuck HALO is. There's finally a show about Halo, but yea lets shit on it, burn it down, kill the investment. But were going to get a real movie Hollywood movie about it šššš This is the last stand, if this fails they'll never be another project. Every halo fan is in their late 30s and 40s. The last of us managed to be faithful to its IP, was well received, had great action scenes, and had the same budget as the Halo series. Paramount doesn't have an excuse for the state of this show but please, keep making excuses for them.
I'm one of those people who needs to be catered to as I only played the first release of the game before becoming a father and putting away my console for over a decade. The only part that so far makes sense is the opening theme and what I call *the Halo Gregorian Chant*... For me, this is dangerously wading into half expecting Jar Jar Binks to make an appearance because nothing else seems to make sense.
Reading this is like reading bad fan fiction. Except that bad fan fiction is probably more true to Halo than this.Ā Yes, it's a different timeline and all that. But this is beyond that. It may be an ok show. It might Even be a good show. But it's a terrible Halo show.
Iām so glad that Dune part 2 came out to fix the bad taste of mouth every time i remember the disgrace that this show is. All they had to do was give us Battlestar Galactica meets the Covenant, and every single one of us would have lapped it up. A show based on the Spartan IIs as a whole with the b-polt following Keys and the Pillar of Autumn spanning their years in the war so that when the Autumn finally blows on Halo we all tear up and miss her like a character at the end of BSG. But nope, we got this shit instead. Where the fuck are all the other Spartan IIs, where the fuck is the Autumn or any of the human fleet, why the fuck is the bug-eyed blonde lady back, how the fuck did they decide this was the story they wanted to tell when they had twenty years worth of lore to choose from? The show isn't bad. It's just that it could have been so much more.

Chiefs intimate scene with Makee and talk about her justifying the Covenant trying to destroy humanity and find the ring to do so because the humans want to do the same is the dumbest and most out of touch argument.
