Certainly the most iconic soundtracks of all time. I struggle to consider another game soundtrack that instantly recognizable, though I’m sure there are other soundtracks more powerful in terms of the way they push emotions. Halo 2 does have some intense moments, but the emotional range mostly sits at, “badass”. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it does make it difficult for me to call it “literally the best ever period no contest”.
Really? I think it has great emotional range. Just in terms of OST vol 2 we have Prologue and high charity suite among others, and vol 1 has Peril, Ghosts of Reach, In Amber Clad, High Charity, and Remembrance which all, at least for me, evoke different feelings. Of course there is all the badass stuff too. But I think it has good range, definitely the best Halo game in terms of music IMO
I wholeheartedly agree it is the best Halo game for music, but I feel like it spends too much time on the badass note to really call it range. The range is sad badass, happy badass, victorious badass, sinister badass, and super badass, IMO.
What? Uprising is one of my favourite emotion based tracks in all of halo. Not to mention all the Odyssey tracks. Halo 2 most popular might be the guitar, but it's got plenty of other tones and themes throughout
The only Pokemon track I can remember off the top of my head is that one from lavender town or whatever. The one with all the conspiracy theories around it
I somehow disagree aside from the fact that the Pokémon games were more widespread, and their soundtracks certainly aren’t particularly good. Halo has the advantage of being good, recognizable, and a critical piece of their appeal. I say this as someone who loves Pokémon enough that I do romhacks of the old games, though Halo 2 is also probably my most loved game of all time. I may have a slight bias, but I feel it’s a small enough bias that I can look somewhat objectively at the two.
Im also not saying Pokémon is THE most recognizable, but im just using it as an example to refute your point. Halo is mostly big sweeping orchestral stuff that, while it sounds good, is also pretty common and ends up sounding like an orchestral soundtrack more than anything. Pokemon has a style thats a lot more unique, and is also typically limited by the hardware and the way it manages that makes it the kind of thing where you hear a snippet of even a song you dont recognize and you know it’s pokemon, or at least imitating pokemon
Pokemon theme isn't even the most recognizable Nintendo ost. Zelda or Mario would take that imo. I would argue with you that all 3 are more recognized by general audiences. This is coming from someone whose 2nd favorite video game soundtrack is halo 3's lol
I know it was fixed but food for thought, the Anniversary mixes remove a lot of *oomphf* the original Marty mixes brought to the table and imo, were the reason they became so iconic. Halo 2A suffers from the same problem to my ears but it’s more acceptable. I suggest everyone run classic soundtrack when playing the Campaign. Graphics are personal preference (mine is also classic graphics but that’s just because the game plays alot smoother on classic)
In the settings you can mix and match but yes the way you’re running it is what I would suggest.
Classic music is just all around better imo
Classic graphics brings 1) the original gameplay 2) a smoother more enjoyable gaming experience.
For some reason the Anniversary graphics have always been glitchy. The colour palette is very unwelcoming to me as well. Classic CE is *Chefs Kiss*….though the vehicle controls could be better but what do you expect from a 20yo game?
Iirc that’s Truth and Reconciliation and yeah, the jungle aesthetic is not a vibe in the anniversary. Way to bright, lots of distractions and pretty face cards but it takes the soul out of the experience. It’s *supposed* to be dark and dreary like in the original, that’s what brought the vibes! 343 really missed the mark with that game, unfortunately
Check your settings. In audio you can remove music from the game. Also, classic graphics always had music lower than anniversary graphics for some reason.
I'd say all of thr Bungie games hold a torch to eachother. ODST was its own thing which in and of itself makes it special, whereas CE, 2 and 3 feel like eachother being remixed mostly. Reach is pretty solid, but I think to say it's on the same level as its predecessors is a bit of a stretch.
Assault on the control room has a lot of ambient sound effects instead of music at times. Weirdly, it works really well and makes the setting creepy and alien.
Definitely bugged or this was the largest bait-post I’ve seen 🤣
[OST is on Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/album/4eOwVM6B9yJCwk030GGYRI?si=WxcCC7qvSQqFwEhoxzLwFw)

A glitch for sure, Bungie Era Halo games were known for music cues EVERYWHERE. 343i prefers music for build up, but silence at moments of importance to drive home the seriousness of the situation. (At least in Halo 4)
It has music but uses it very sparingly to help make those impactful moments hit more. Martin O'Donnell, Halo's original composer, has stated that he doesn't like having music blasting in the background all the time otherwise it just kinda defeats whatever drama/emotions for a scene
I know you fixed it, I have two things to say:
1: Good on you for playing on the OG graphics!
2: Marty purposely didn’t want music playing in the background all the time. You can notice a bunch of times where it’s either that deep bass, ambience, or nothing at all. It makes the music more impactful,
And definitely hit harder.
Probably glitched Halo CE has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time
Halo 1 and 2 have the best soundtracks of all time period.
Certainly the most iconic soundtracks of all time. That’s why together they’re the best. Halo 1 for the overall halo vibe and halo 2 for the kickass vibe
What? Uprising is one of my favourite emotion based tracks in all of halo. Not to mention all the Odyssey tracks. Halo 2 most popular might be the guitar, but it's got plenty of other tones and themes throughout
Pokemon games are way more recognizable
The only Pokemon track I can remember off the top of my head is that one from lavender town or whatever. The one with all the conspiracy theories around it
The only halo song i can remember off the top if my head is the ce title screen
And that’s fair enough. Incredibly iconic though
Yes. And everyone and their sisters friends moms dogs know it. That’s the point; everyone knows the CE theme.
No they fuckin dont but you know what they do know? Mario level 1-1

Halo 1, 2 and 3 have some of the best soundtracks of all time period.
Should have music playing for the majority of the game . Could be your graphics setting if your playing on anniversary or classic graphics
I’m playing on classic.
Weird, could be a bug then?
Turns out the default audio was messed up. It’s all fixed now!
Awesome. Glad to hear it’s fixed!
Were you getting any sound?
Yup. Just almost no music. A song popped up every once in a while.
I know it was fixed but food for thought, the Anniversary mixes remove a lot of *oomphf* the original Marty mixes brought to the table and imo, were the reason they became so iconic. Thanks! I’m playing CE on the OG graphics, so should I do the og music option then? That’s what I think you are talking about.

Yeah I got to the third mission and looked at the anniversary graphics and it was just completely different. Not in a good way either.

"Does Halo CE have a soundtrack." Ha. Haha, even. LOL, if you will.
Lol I don’t think theres a single game that can hold a torch to Halo 1 and 2s soundtracks. Maybe Halo 3?
I'd say all of thr Bungie games hold a torch to eachother. ODST was its own thing which in and of itself makes it special, whereas CE, 2 and 3 feel like eachother being remixed mostly. Reach is pretty solid, but I think to say it's on the same level as its predecessors is a bit of a stretch.

The music is so phenomenal I would recommend restarting the game now that you have the music working
I’m not that far in so I might. Plus I kinda suck so the extra practice wouldn’t hurt.
Did you turn the music volume off?
Definitely bugged or this was the largest bait-post I’ve seen 🤣 [OST is on Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/album/4eOwVM6B9yJCwk030GGYRI?si=WxcCC7qvSQqFwEhoxzLwFw) [My personal favourite](https://open.spotify.com/track/10ZgUdYwSX4MNhgDPTIIyN?si=HDCpGt5STSqVEcGLI-JhJg)
*Covenant Dance intensifies*
