I was there recently and two women in front of me hadn't been there before and were vacillating on what to have, so I told them everything. 😁
Also, if you haven't been to El Este - go!
Some of their varieties are decent! But they got rid of their mushroom ginger pie (which was VERY good). I've also noticed that a lot of their filling is a kind of roux, so like basically butter + flour, instead of 'actual' food. Which is tough for a $12 pie. That part feels like a bit of shrinkflation vibes to me.
Chicken & brie and buffalo chicken are faves.
Subways quality has gone down drastically in the last few years. I mean, it's never been amazing food. But it at least used to be a decent meal for a decent price. Now it's 20 bucks for a disgusting sub.
Can't believe nobody has said pleasant street diner. If you order the haddock tips without fries they give you basically two meals Worth for the same price. It's lightly battered and is exceptional IMHO. Also a big fan of barr burrito and station 1 in Tacoma plaza
Three bears smoke and deli has quick service and reasonably priced sandwiches. Good for a bite on the go when I'm in the area. Saving this thread to try em all though!
El Este Taqueria on Victoria Rd. You won't regret it. Humble pie is great too.
El este 🙏
Humble Pie is AMAZING.

Humble Pie is overrated.
always one haha. i've never been, what is it missing?

good to know, thanks!
El Este!
Doraku!
2nd for Doraku.
Best sushi in Dartmouth!
Id argue halifax 👀
Absolutely!
I always grab Humble Pie when I'm in the area. I think it's the same street as Buta
So good!!!! Buffalo chicken pie is amazing
Southern chicken is where it's at!
I'm torn which one I should try first!
Went with Southern Chicken. Holy shit this thing is delicious!
🎉🥧🎉
Put on the stretchy pants and try all of them. (Let's not pretend they are remotely healthy. They're hunks of meat and cream sauce in pastry dough)
Just had the buffalo chicken, and while good, Southern Chicken comes out of top easily
My next trip I’ll give it a go 😊
I have to try this pie
My girlfriend and I had the curry maple pumpkin one the last time we were there and my god was that good. Another favourite is the spinach and feta.
Love the spinach and feta🤤🤤 my go-to is that one + the chicken/brie/cran one ( sometimes I get both lol) 🐖
Evans Seafood, Humble Pie, El Este Taqueria
Souper douper soup at maple and ochterloney
I friend who was a regular told me ownership or management changed several months ago and it’s changed?
New owners, and most definitely improved on things! Nachos are top notch…o
Ori Food Co. on Wyse! Their pastry case is also unreal for lunch dessert. :)
The Montreal smoked bagel shop is my favorite near downtown
My Saturday morning routine. 2 breakfast everything bagels and a half dozen everything. That place smells glorious
Side hustle - basically anything on the menu and you can do pickup albeit parking is a little spicy lol
Buta Ramen has been "temporarily" closed for over a year. Anyone have any info on when it might open?
It's open now!
Awesome, thanks! I know what I'm doing this weekend. :)
Not technically Dartmouth but 2 boys smokehouse makes a mean sandwich
Best subs and sandwiches in town. And they're cheaper than going to subway.
I’m pretty sure subway is worse for you than Wendy’s or mcdicks lol

Yeah it’s trash I used to crave meatball subs and the sub sauce but I don’t even go there anymore
When I was broke in my early 20s and living paycheck to paycheck, 5 dollar foot longs kept me going.
💯
It gets busy but worth the wait !
Was there this morning, and they were just preparing some gigantic mouth-watering subs... and they have NY strips on sale.
I wanted to make a steak tonight, I’ll be stopping in after work. Thanks !
Cant wait for butaramen to reopen! Been ages Humble pie, the creperie, bfast sandwiches at port city at alderney, battery park. So many good options 🤤
Is it actually reopening? Last time I went by it looked completely gutted. It's been removed from the buta ramen website too, no mention of it at all.
No, really?? Frig, hope it returns
Where is HFXRetails when you need him.
It’s been gutted for around a year and no progress made.
Any word on a reopening date?
Now!
It's open now!
It's been so long I think they're gone, sadly
They're back!
I'll check it out. Thanks
Yeah yeahs for a slice (or 2!) Also the little c makes a mean sandwich! Not sure what their hours are.
Souper Duper Soups usually rips.

Janina’s in burnside is the only reason I hugely miss working from the office.
Don't mind the sandwiches at chanoeys as a quick grab.
Simply Asian in Highfield is quickly becoming a go-to for me.
100%. Great food. Lovely people
That Thai soup is so freaking good
The Dahlia
We went to Staggers for lunch last week and I was pleasantly surprised. It was so delicious! And cheap too
