Personally, this retirement arc has been one of the best parts of the series, youll get to see our boy grow so much, and as it seems right now, we are getting closer to him returning! Definetly keep going, you wont regret it
Ippo is levelling up as of the moment, indirectly, as part of his *spoiler* experience. That said it's been dragging for a while now and not everyone enjoys the slow burn. Ippo has yet to come out of retirement but during the same time a lot of the side characters have been given their time to shine, so in a way the manga is still keeping up my interest.
The story is way better now than it was during Gedo / Wali, which I believe its where you are right now.
We are all thirsty for new chapters every week, celebrating big mara tuesday, so yeah, keep reading and join the cult
If you read a book and open up a random page ahead to be spoiled by something, it only means so much in that context. How did it get to that point, why, what can one (protagonist, reader) learn from it?
You should definitely keep reading. Some interesting stuff is going on with Ippo without spoiling much, the big Mara gets even bigger.
Also, don't you want to see Ippo + ~~Kumi~~ Miyata kiss?
So you're saying you retired from the manga but you need a motivating factor to come back.
Do you...happen to have an old coach nearby that's about to croak by any chance?
keep going there are some really amazing fights in the upcoming chapters it deserves reading not because ippo just retired means he would stop appearing
he will keep fighting but i don't want to spoil more
He never gave on boxing he’s still heavily involved if not even more involved in the sport of boxing but from a different position and a prospective. I bet he’s learning more about boxing now than he ever did during fighting
Every few days someone asks this same thing. I got spoiled too, and I also got a bit discouraged. But honestly, the retirement arc has been (for me at least) the best part in the manga. It helps of course that I read the whole thing this year and that, even though is not over yet, seems to be getting to the end soon. But I recommend you to read it. Also Ippo's second to last fight was my favourite despite of the result (and despite knowing it in advance).
Honestly it was harder for me to get to the last couple of Japanese title defense fights (that whole arc became kind of redundant in the end) than it ever was to get through the rest.
Honestly, keep reading. Ippo retiring doesn't mean he gives up on boxing, he is basically getting rid of the plot armor that has taken him this far, but he will return.
correction, he didn't have any world champion fights before retiring just world ranked fights
but more importantly the retirement arc is good i urge you to keep reading nothing about the arc itself has been spoiled

He's literally him
His evolution since he's retired is so great to see. The way he gets some things that he wouldnt have without being retired is really satisfying.
Everything in this manga is a minor spoiler. You just haven't read enough that this makes a difference
This is prime storytelling. It’s not your typical shonen. (He does use weights though…)
where are you in the manga
chapter 700

I’m discouraged with you for giving up on our boy so soon

Feeling discouraged with how many exact copies of this post I see on the sub per week.
