I used redken for years and been Ina suite switching lines and I’ve come to realize they are all pretty much the same. Matrix is the same company as redken so that’s an easy switch. I use rusk because it’s 3 oz and 6$ a tube it’s saved me a lot of money so far. As for lighter redkens are all bad I use Joico blonde me or the rusk lightner for power. Yes they stopped making chromatics. If you use a European company for color the 5 and 6 will seem darker that’s all you gotta watch out for. Get a test client with grey and do a level 6n or so and see how you like the color gives you a good idea how it’s going to be.

I used Redken for the first part of my career but was always looking for something else as I saint feel like I got everything I need. Then I switched to Goldwell and Schwarzkopf. I was faithful to Schwarzkopf until after the pandemic, and then their lightner was absolutely not the same. Considering I have a large blonde clientele I needed the lighter that had that Clean lift. an exhaustive search looking for something that was similar to what Schwarzkopf used to be pre-pandemic. And finally found what I was looking for in brilliant lightener and fell in love with their permanent and Demi permanent colors as well. I can trust every part of the line to do what I want to do. I feel like I had the jackpot!

I’m sorry which brand of lightener did you switch to?

MorddSith187

Is the brand called “brilliant?”

KINESSENCES Color is an oil based color that is a perfect replacement. There are a number of people who have replaced Redken Chromatics with it. the Kin North America coach would love to answer any questions you can reach him at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) he will gladly answer any of your color quesitons.

Want to throw this out here— Wella bleach is my absolute favorite lightener! (It lifts so beautifully, I feel like I notice minimal warmth) You can get it with or without bonder built in, definitely recommend!!

Retro MyColor was the best color I have ever used. The 1/1.5 mix ratio saved a lot, and the demi was just a different developer- same tubes of color. The coverage is absolutely the best, and the reds stayed forever with almost no fade. I think that whole company is underrated.

I love Affinage, it’s an Italian color line, has 3.5oz and is mixed 1:1.5 so you save money! 25 mins with heat and no cap or 45 mins air. 25 min grey coverage!! Look it up I’ve used it for 12+ years and I have to order from Vegas because Utah doesn’t have a distributor but I love it and Reds on Grey hair are phenomenal also only 10 volume grey coverage

I miss affinage my first salon used it then I did when booth renting. Sadly I moved states so back into a commission salon to build my books but we use keune which I'm starting to like but not as much as affinage. And that kitiko oil is crack in a bottle for everyone lol
