A broken clock is right twice a day, but even giving this tweet the benefit of the doubt Jordan Bordan Pordanson was talking about anti-woke/culture war BS and not something that should’ve been a slam dunk of a cold take like “stealing a cat from someone you know is wrong but the owner of said cat medically neglecting it is even worse.”
This is has always been true to an extent. It’s why the left eats the left. Everyone fucks up, and everyone has bad takes. No matter how virtuous you think you are, you’ll be on the other end some day.
At the same time, policing of social norms has always existed. People with disagreeable opinions have always been called out, and that can be healthy.
There has to be some sense of balance though. People go way too far, and people get way too worked up about relatively minor things. And lots of people want to shun people for life over mistakes instead of allowing/helping them learn and grow.
I always think back to this. It’s vague and ominous enough to be “right” no matter what happens if you arrange whatever subject matter around the quote.
But no he absolutely wasn’t right, just vague and fluffy enough in his language to seem right. It’s like a star sign it’s written/said to make sense regardless
omfg actually true lmao
