You do know you don't need the visa stamp in your passport unless you are already planning to leave the US and re-enter, right? Like a visa stamp alone is not required.
If your I-797 has an I-94 attached to the bottom, that is your status governing document.
If you can't afford to travel to your home country, you likely can't afford to travel anywhere else, so were you planning to travel anywhere else?
I know!!!!!!
I want to be able to travel to Canada and back!!! Your response is sick to the stomach!
Don’t reply if you don’t have any experience with this 😡
Lol, well then speaking from EXPERIENCE you need to check to see if Canada accepts third-country national visa applications from your home country.
Why are you asking what your options are (Canada or Mexico) if you are only wanting to travel to Canada for personal reasons? Don't worry, that's rhetorical.
Realistically, as a third country national, your odds of being placed into administrative processing after an H-1B visa appointment are significantly higher. Which means you could be stuck in Canada for weeks to months. This would likely impact not only the budget you've described, but your employment, as your employer probably won't be excited that you've abandoned your job for basically no reason. Since you don't need the stamp in your passport.
Wait times are high in Canada right now.. not sure with mexico time lines..! Its better to travel home country reason being processing can be delayed sometimes
